I am a frequent customer at East Gate and have been for years - both dining in and ordering for takeout/delivery. Usually, I am very satisfied; tonight, however, I had a significantly under par experience. Having gone for dinner with a girlfriend ordering the all-you-can-eat menu, food preparation took a fair amount of time (zero problem with this, as we were not in any rush). The issue was with customer service/treatment. Since we sat down after 7pm on a Thursday evening, my friend and I were not paying attention to the time, especially since it takes time for the sushi to be prepared and served. After eating and paying the bill (with a more than fair tip), I and my friend were chatting while our food digested, which has never before been an issue on a weeknight. HOWEVER, the greeter/seater--whose face I did not recognize despite my numerous past visits--proceeded to come over and ask my friend and me to leave because it had been a while since we had ordered something. First, I find this to be an extremely rude practice. Second, we were sitting for a total of an hour and a half -- typical for an all-you-can-eat service. Third, it was nearing 9pm, and since the restaurant closes at 10pm, it is usually not a high-traffic time. If the greeter had wanted the two-person table space (we were not hogging a large table or anything!), he could have simply asked if we wanted to order something more and walked away. Message would have been received in an appropriate fashion. The way he spoke to us, though, was extremely unprofessional and off-putting. Though East Gate offers good food and fair prices -- and is located closer to where I live than other sushi restaurants -- I think in future I will choose to frequent other restaurants, especially Imperial 46, where I find the food also to be excellent and have never once felt rushed or treated rudely. *Extremely* disappointed.

This was by far the worst experience ever. And the service was just terrible. We had really bad waiters that gave us no attention and gave us the food after an hour. The food was cold and it didnt taste right. We got really bad looks from the waiters. We basically saw other people that came in after us get their food before us. And when we went to pay, the lady put the gratuity on our order and it was way more then the 15% and we told her how we had a terrible service and she didnt apologize so she removed it and rather said next time we will not serve you. There are plenty of other sushi places out there PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE!!!!

if i could give this place 0 stars, i would. absolutely TERRIBLE service was provided. we had 3 very rude waiters. one of which was giving us nasty glares the whole time we were there and basically falling asleep and not making contact while taking our orders. our other waiter payed no attention to us whatsoever and randomly took my friends food away with no explanation. and now were all sitting here sick as hell feeling like death due to whatever awful quality food they have. please do yourself a favor SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! and do not eat the green candies they provide at the end of your awful visit!

AYCE sushi can be pretty similar in this area between restaurants but the one thing that sets East Gate ahead of the local competition is the mushroom soup and the udon noodles. The sushi is good too but most places around here are of the same quality. If you make a reservation call it in, several times that I made a reservation online and didnt call they had us waiting to sit. When I called my reservations in I was seated promptly. I dont think they check the online reservations much.

Good place. I like sushi village better, but it is still pretty good. the sashimi is OUT OF THIS WORLD, but some of the sushi has too much rice. The soup vegetables were not cooked very much, and were a bit raw (putting frozen veggies in broth) overall, i give it 4 out of 5. The broiled squid was awesome, and the service was really fast. you cannot go wrong, going there, but i would give the nod to sushi village.

This place used to be my go to place for sushi - fresh, great portions, nice cuts, good rolls - but lately the quality has gone down big time. I am not sure if they have a new sushi chef or a new fish provider, but the quality has gone down significantly. I hope this changes soon, but I will not be ordering from here in the near future.

High quality sushi and all you can eat. Its my familys favorite restaurant. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the service is great. Does not have the breadth if fish choices, but it has most of my favorites like yellowtail, eel, and salmon. Have never been disappointed and always leave more than satisfied.

Definitely very good high quality Sushi, All you can eat for $25 is reasonable, And its good Sushi, I lile the Spider roll and shrimp roll in particular, However, the staff is rather rude and uncouth, and hurts the experience a bit, so 4/5 stars is appropriate Re: Visit: Tuesday, July 6, 2016

I love coming here for unlimited sushi! The sushi is fresh, well made, and the unlimited includes a great variety of specificalty rolls. Worth every penny of $21 (mon-thurs). Its a couple dollars more on the weekend, and also includes hot food and dessert.

Love this place. Food is prepared well and service is quick. Raw fish is fresh. Be sure to get the grilled octopus, we always several servings every time we visit. Wait staff is a bit inexperienced but not a major concern. We will keep coming back

I would not give this place higher than a three star is very dirty. Some of the staff is rude and they put to much rice in their sushi so they can get you full. If you eat sushi often DONT bother in this place.
