I was trying this diner for the first time and was surprised. The atmosphere is good and the overall environment is quiet. But, the food couldnt be described as the same. Lets start with the soups, Matzo ball and french onion soup. Both were watery and lacked any flavor worth mentioning. Not something I expected from a diner which typically should serve a good soup. Also the french onion was covered in so much cheese I thought I ordered a cheese soup. Literally half a bowl of cheese and half of soup. The meal, a BLT sandwich and a taylor egg and ham sandwich. The BLT was the size of my mouth and tasted like the bacteria in my mouth. It wad like the chef tried to shove as much as he could between two thin slices of bread. It was dry and bland. The lettuce was not even crunchy. The Taylor egg and ham was the only thing I actually liked. It was savory and juicy, not to mention also delicious. My friends chicken Parmesan was like rubber as he described it and showed me but cutting it. I thought it was a tire at first... Please cook it better so I dont have to describe it as rubber. I gave it a two due to the environment and overall service, but the food was not worth it.

Always Outstanding. Stirling House Diner is the best diner in Central Jersey. Each and every visit is fully satisfying. The burgers have that great grilled flavor, the sandwiches are large and the fries are tasty- and always hot. My favorite lunch is their awesome triple decker club sandwich platter. Their soups are awesome especially cream of mushroom and split pea. Breakfast: omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes, etc... It’s all good, and that’s the main thing with Stirling House- it’s all good. You never have to wonder if the home fries have been sitting for five hours or if the coffee is stale. I’ve dined here probably a hundred times. The service is terrific. The premises clean. They just finished an outdoor patio so looking forward to lunch this summer! I am a pretty fierce restaurant critic and don’t often praise establishments so it is a pleasure to say Stirling House gets 5’s across the board.

I remember this diner serving up pretty decent food. I havent been there in about 10 years. Ordered the pancakes and they should have came with a saw instead of a knife, I basically had to rip them apart. They have a very tough texture to them and not very appetizing. The Reuban sandwich corned beef looks like fish bait or some old cat food, but kinda tasted like corned beef. The sauce for the mozzarella stick has to be the cheapest sause they sell. This place should worry less about their appearance and focus more on the quality of the food served to the customers. I love to eat and travel a lot to try new places and would get a much better meal at the Burger King 1/4 mile away. My personal opinion, dont waste your time or money here, you will be much happier somewhere else.

Place is empty and I now know why. Brought out chicken fingers for my daughter that was 2 shades too dark. My daughter ask, "What is that?" I should have walked out then and there. I had their version on french onion soup that tasted like water, butter, little onion, and cheese. No love was put in to making our food. Used yesterdays oil to fry up chicken fingers. How do you mess up chicken fingers? Only diner I will go to is "TOPPS DINER" in Kearny NJ. Its always packed and is worth the amount they charge. I wanted to ask the owner if hes ever been, but I was too mad paying $30 for their food. Should have went to the shoprite hot ffod section down the road.

Food is sub par, food comes quick and the service is fast. Omelettes can be made based on what you want but dont expect to cheese anywhere but flat in the middle of the omelette. Hash Browns I had were undercooked. Also there are green peppers floating around in the hash browns and now onions, consider yourself warned. Sandwiches come with fries. The fries are a weird texture maybe a little stale tasting. The sandwiches come to the table unmade and half the ingredients are in covered ramekins for you to take out and add on your roll. The roll is good and the chicken is thinly sliced which is good.

We go to the Stirling House Diner regularly mainly due to the location near our home. I like to take each of my daughters out to lunch regularly to catch up. After an hour and a half, maybe two hours, the waitress told us to leave because her shift was over but then she said, "Geez, you were here forever!" This is the second time we were rudely "forced" to end our conversation by a waitress ending her shift. I can understand that we were there for a long time, but the waitresses do not have to be rude about it. We have given them lots of business over the years. I think we will take it elsewhere.

I went to Stirling Diner for the first time last week. While enjoying coffee and drinks and chatting, the manager came to our table. We assumed he was being nice at first but then he asked us to move to the counter because the waitress wasnt going to make money off of our table and he wanted the table for other customers. At first we were in shock that we were being asked to leave. We were planning on ordering dinner as well but now will never return to this establishment.

This is the nicest diner Ive ever been to, and Ive eaten in a lot of diners. Beautifully remodeled. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great for families. Great value. Ive had nearly everthing on the breakfast menu. Great sandwiches and huge burgers for lunch or dinner. The dinner menu is extensive, like a lot of diners, but the quality and quantity is outstanding. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Its all good here.

Great diner. Well known for their seafood. I know, who in their right mind would order seafood at a diner? This place has great seafood offerings along with typical Diner fare including breakfast at all times. Staff from bus boys to managers are top drawer. They even speak English! Outdoor dining by the zen-like reflecting pool in a seasonal treat! I cant get enough of this place!

Ive eaten at this place twice (once breakfast and once dinner) since the big renovation and both times Ive had to speed back home to get on the toilet. It could just be me, but after feeling fine all day, then eating here, then running home to the bathroom TWICE, I will not go back to this place anymore. Its not worth it. Plus, its a little high priced.

The other reviews could not be more off! I come here regularly and enjoy almost anything off the menu. The place is known for their fantastic seafood, but the chicken parm or eggplant parm are good too. Also, their cakes are to die for....if you can afford the calories! A beautiful appearance and good eats--not too pricey either!
