A solid diner: Well managed, good food and friendly. Been a customer for years. One of the few diners that has a salad bar, a big plus for me. Huge selection, large servings and price range. Dinners are averaging $14-$18 now; But it includes a lot. Burgers, gyros, Rubins wraps etc. start around $7 and go up to $12 depending. During the week they have lunch specials that are quite reasonably priced. The good: Ive always had good luck with their seafood; most notably their salmon dinners. Steaks and chops are always good as well. I often find their sides to be surprisingly good; just today I enjoyed an excellent side of spinish. Made with fresh garlic and herbs;,I wanted more. Disappointments are; "asian" burger, meatloaf recipe could use a refresh. Soups are ok but could use some upgrading and less salt. Roast turkey and chicken are fine but nothing exceptional. The "baked" macaroni and cheese should be skipped. Taste like pasta with cheese sauce poured over it. Management and ownership is always present. Very attentive. They always check in see how youre enjoying your meal. If I had a complaint; it would be that they occasionally they nickel and dime me. Charging me for the to go coffee, despite the fact that I had a meal paid for coffee with it. The staff often sneaks me a paper cup which is appreciated. When I have forgotten things there, they have always find and return whatever it is. Thank you. The wait staff tends to be excellent. A diverse crew age-wise, which is appreciated. I find that the more experienced waitstaff often pays better attention to detail. Congratulations on running such an excellent establishment. A tough and competitive business to be in. Im am here most Fridays with several members of a nearby club that I belong to; It has become our regular spot.

I went in to order 3 BLTs and 3 Turkey Clubs to go. I informed them that I needed to pick everything up in an hour and I paid for the order in advance. The cashier asked that i call before i wanted the order. I explained that since they were cold sandwiches I simply needed have them ready due to the fact that I had to attend a funeral up the road. Near the conclusion of the funeral (60 min later) I sent my wife in to get the order. She was told that nothing was made and that I was told to call first. Therefore, everything I said was disregarded, even though I paid for the order in full. Due to time and travel we couldnt wait. I told my wife to get a refund due to the 2 hour ride to the cemetery. The cashier was belligerent to my wife and then gave her less than the order cost originally. Had i had enough time to go in, i would have gladly confronted the front staff. If this is how disgusting the front of this location is, i can only imagine how gross it is in their kitchen. They dont deserve the business that they get.

When I saw the poor reviews, I was wondering if a place could be that bad and still be in business for twenty some years. If I had not made arrangements to meet a friend there on her recommendation, I might not have ever tried out the diner. Well, either the management and staff woke up or the people who left the bad reviews got out of bed on the wrong side the day they went there. First, the service was excellent. Never had to beg for more coffee as I sometimes feel I have to in other restaurants. The Belgian waffle was excellent (would have like real honey as opposed to syrup) and my friends eggs and hash browns were perfect. Contrary to what other reviews have noted, I found a warm friendly atmosphere with servers who didnt miss a beat.

Great salad bar, very fresh, lots of ingredients and excellent dressings. Good service. Dinner specials include salad bar, soup, coffee/tea, dessert, a great deal at very reasonable prices, usually a dozen choices between $13 - $23. Diner fish is often meh, not here! My faves include salmon and lately, their flounder special. I go there about twice a month, always look forward to it. Crowded on a Friday night but still usually have a few open tables and quick service.

Fish is good, turkey is good. The gravy is bad. Mashed potatoes are instant, corn is frozen. Manhattan clam chowder is very bad. I agree with one of the previous posters when they said "they have a lot to learn about customer service" the manager/owner lady is pretty rude. She was upset that we didnt ask for separate checks like four guys would come in and one of them would pay. It is definitely the servers job to ask. The lemon coconut cake was the best part.

The food is great here and the wait staff is very friendly although one woman with long brown hair who works the register is in a permanent pissy mood and seeing her face just doesnt make me want to eat there anymore. It is a shame because the place is great and I am comfortable there but I cannot stand to be around that woman.

Usually a good time and great food. Some of the servers are not very nice and one of the owners really has no people skills, but overall, if you go at the right time youll have a nice experience at this diner. Just dont ask for hot water and lemon unless you want to be charged. Ludicrous!

I went on Saturday May 14, the salmon was excellent and also the salad bar. Unfortunately, something, I think the fish with white sauce on the salad bar, made me feel very sick on Sunday the 15th. And the attention also was great. Just for the next day sickness I dont give the 5.

My wife and I and my mother stopped in for the first time and throughly enjoyed the warm hospitality, great menu selection, and superb food. Our waitress Jessica was fantastic with help and suggestions. My wife and wanted to give them 20 stars but only 5 are allowed.

I love The Blue Swan. It has been my favorite diner in Jersey for over 20 years. There is so much variety here. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Greek, Italian, Jewish, everything you could ever want to eat is here. I recently had the angel pancakes and they were perfect!

My friends and I stop at Blue Swan whenever we are coming home from NYC, which is frequently. If we are going to be in the area, we make our plans around dining at Blue Swan. The food is amazing and the staff is attentive. Blue Swan is my pick for NJs best diner!

This place has a salad bar, which is a plus, and the dinner specials give you so much food. The service was great but my food was just eh. Overcooked turkey and a bland stuffing made the turkey special not very special at all.

The wait staff are extremely nice and really attentive (my coffee and water never got empty), the food is good and appropriately priced. Really comfortable atmosphere and my food came out fast. Would definitely go again

Very good "Jersey" diner. Food is always good and comes out pretty quick. Sandwiches and breakfast dishes are what we always order and they are always the same, good! Bathrooms are clean and the staff friendly.

Been there 3 times in last 2 weeks. Thanksgiving menu was great, breakfast & lunch selections are equally as appealing. Food was hot tasty & had a gourmet flare! Going back tonite for a late night snack!
