I have to say that this restaurant is like a mirage in a desert. It looks great with its decor, fancy plates and great background music, but it just does not cut it. Prices are upscale, so you expect great service. I went with 8 people this past Saturday and I was very disappointed in the service. Drinks were slow to come or forgotten. Once our appetizers were finished they were very slow in taking the dirty plates and giving us clean plates for dinner. If your going to advertise yourself as a upscale restaurant with upscale prices, then at least provide service that is upscale. I do have to admit that the appetizers were good, for example the Lamb Kebabs and Lamb Chops are good, but the regular dinner was not as good. One of the chicken dishes was either cooked too much or not cooked enough and it made the texture of the chicken a bit off. The only reason I give this place one star is that they fashion themselves as a upscale restaurant and they are not at a 5 Star Level that they think they are. Ive been to most of the Mehtani Restaurants (i.e. Mings, Mings II, Moghul, Moksha, etc) and all of them give you a faux sense of being in a upscale restaurant.

This was by far the best Indian dining experience Ive had in US. pros: 1. The decor and setting is upscale, but the rates are not too high from the average Indian fare.(2-3 $ more for each dish). 2. Pleasant ambience, easy on eyes and you get private space on tables as well (not congested) 3. Great Service. The tip is included in the check. The waiter specifically asked us,not to fill in the tip,as it was already included. Also ,my parking ticket was validated, which was a pleasant surprise. Cons: 1.Didnt know that I had to park in Hyatt parking, and had to spend time finding the place. Also, from the parking lot, finding the restaurant is not easy for first timer.

We were to Mehendi for dinner. We have been to Ming II earlier and we liked their food. Mehendi and Ming II belong to the same brand & this one serves Indian food. The restaurant inside was pretty big; there was one person there who was continuously doing mehndi/henna/tattoo for restaurant customers. The interior was dim and the atmosphere was quite loud. We ordered Machli Koliwada, Gilafi Sheekh Kabab for appetizers and for drinks we ordered Cardamom & Grilled Pineapple Martini and an Asian Cocktail. For entree we ordered Mutton Handi Lazeez with Rice and Naan. Food was average; I was expecting better tasting menu than what they served.

Visited Mehndi on 10/22/11, will not be repeating again. The food was delicious, but I was misguided by the waiter and over ordered, despite asking for less food initially, he insisted we order more food, which we did not end up eating. The bill may have been high this time, but I will not visit again, because although the food is great, its not worth the price and the pushy service. Now by reading the comments below, I find out the bill included the tip, which was not mentioned by the waiter - disappointed and do not recommend to anyone given the plethora of better options in the area.

Excellent food. Unfortunately the service was not very good. We were seated for 15 minutes before someone came with water. Once the food was ordered it came quickly. Loved the paneer pasanda, sam savera and garlic naan. Usually in any restaurant, water is refilled without needing to ask but here we had to call them over to refill the water. They did not refill it. So the service was lacking and likely understaffed, but the food was excellent.

After reading all the reviews went to this restaurants for a good buffet for the high price. Only the decor was excellent other than that nothing was very good. choices for buffet were very poor . Food was good but again not many choices. For dessert there is only one choice and nobody in our family like that(not even fresh fruit). and they charge 18% service charge for poor service. Had to remind couple of times to get a high chair.

I went to Mehndi from my work and I was the only Indian in the group. Food was very good,I did not see any issue with service, they were good. I am vegeterian but I asked I asked other people about non-veg food and they said it was very good. interior was good too. So I think its worth of deal.

Food is expensive and its more of a dinner place, I guess. Kinda weird since it is in a business complex. I work right next door and have never been here. The horrible stench of curry keeps me away. They really need a lunch place here like Bennigans that Mehndi replaced.

Being an indian I always expect perfect taste and this place blew me off. The best food i have ever ate in any restaurant. Cook Mr Rawat, from Uttaranchal has brought real taste of india in NJ. This is my new favourite restaurant now.

Their food was different, it broke the boundaries of very traditional Indian food while still maintaining a flavorful ethnic taste. It is worth the money and certainly a great place to go, especially their lunch buffet!

I usually dont like Indian food but I like to keep trying. Mendhi is expensive but every morsel of food presented during the meal was meaningful and delectable. I wish it was a BYOB because the drink are expensive.

If you are going for a good Indian food DONT GO to Mehndi. The food was pathetic. It lacked everything that an Indian food should have including salt, spices and other stuff. Had a lot of expectations but it failed.

The best Indian food, bar none! We drive up here 2-3 times a year for conventions. Mehndis amazing lamb vindaloo is our favorite thing about Morristown. Classy atmosphere. Their weekend lunch buffet is good, too.

Food was good. Atmosphere is also good. When we came, there as a diwali party in private space. So it felt very nice. 4 star because staff had typical Indian etiquettes. No smile, no please, no thank you.

Great atmosphere. I especially liked their Drums from Heaven appetizer. It does tend to get a little noisy when busy. I think it has to do with the domed shaped on the main dinning area.

Food good, atmosphere great, decoration amazing, price EXPENSIVE. I liked it but I do not think I will be back as its just too expensive for Indian.
