I was on business with my husband in Philly and had heard about the Milford Oyster House so we decided to drive up there for dinner. It happened to be Tiki Thursday and the place was very busy. We decided to dine outside and enjoy the live music, but thought the inside was very charming. We orderded the special Tiki drinks ,which were superb and had tons of flavor from the fresh fruit puree...for dinner I ordered the scallops that were out of this world and cooked to perfection (not rubbery at all) and my husband ordered a fish dish which he thought was outstanding. Warm bread was also served with dinner....However, the best was yet to come! Amys cheesecake is the best I have ever tasted. Very light, creamy, rich and loaded with delicious flavor. Honestly, we travel a lot and have tried cheesecake at many restaurants around the country, but this wins the prize. Even if you dont feel like seafood for dinner, the cheescake is worth the drive!!!!

We spent 3 HOURS there for a meal for 8 persons. I had the pan seared trout. It was terrible. The fish was flattend to 1/8" thick and was not cooked properly + it had bones, bones, and more bones. Yes, I expect bones to be in fish, but I also expect the majority of them to be removed. It was also not fresh, but frozen. The potatoes were a joke. Large pieces of potato cut and burned and not seasoned. This chef has no idea how to make cole slaw. It was the worst texture and very bland. Other persons at the table had broccoli which was served raw with the meal. My fathers steak was well done instead of his order of pink on the inside. The beets looked like square pieces of burnt potato. There were no complaints about the beets, but that is how they looked. The food is way overpriced. I do not know what Chef Ed is a master of, but it is definitely not food. Chef Ramsey would rip him a new one.

Milford Oyster House is surprisingly good. You dont expect an excellent seafood restaurant in the middle of the countryside. Having grown up on Cape Cod, Im a bit of a "seafood snob" and can be difficult to please as I expect fresh, properly prepared fish but this restaurant delivers. I started with the crab-cake with greens while my wife went for the garlic salad, which is like a Caesar but with a garlic balsamic dressing. Both were excellent. For our mains, I had the shrimp and scallop scampi, which was perfectly prepared - scallops soft and sweet and shrimp still plump yet crisp. Exactly as they should be. My wife got the sushi grade tuna, which is her test of a seafood restaurant and it passed muster. Excellent! Next, Im looking forward to returning to try the fish and chips on their tavern menu. Cant wait!

Loved it! We went to the restaurant for the first time last night and I have to say Im impressed. We had been there when it was The Milford Oyster House and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere and we were happy to see that it still felt warm and inviting and the food was still fantastic. We had beer from their nitro line so it tasted so creamy and they still have a great wine list as well. The oysters were yummy along with the duck Mac and cheese and the pork tenderloin. We also couldnt resist having dessert the brownie sundae with homemade ice cream was to die for. It was also nice to see so many locals at the bar. We would recommend this place to anyone please go youll be happy you did!

I have been dining at the Milford Oyster House since 1985 at both its present & previous locations. The food has been consistently outstanding and the service delightful. This past Sunday night I enjoyed the Shellfish Stew which was chock full of fresh, succulent seafood. My dining companion enjoyed another great selection on the menu...Crab Norfolk - a very generous quantity of fresh crabmeat. I finished with Amys fabulous Cheesecake. GO!!

Once again enjoyed a fabulous meal! The food & service were impeccable. We all had different apps, & the 4 of us had a great time sharing the oysters, garlic clams & mussels. We all had a seafood selection for our entrees & agreed the fish was fresh (Chef Ed never disappoints us) & perfectly cooked. Amys homemade deserts were a delicious way to end our pre-Christmas celebration. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, always worth the trip.

Comfortable, warm, yet classy. . . This is the Milford Oyster House. At least six different types of oysters to enjoy each week make this the go-to restaurant for seafood. The entrees range from a classy, luscious Crab Norfolk dish to the comfortable yet exceptional beer-battered shrimp with home-made French Fries. A stylish country-meets-the-sea decor is bright and inviting yet warm and homey at the same time. Service is always great

Although the food was fresh and tasted wonderful, the portions were incredibly small for the overly priced meals. It took over 90 minutes to receive our food, and in the meantime we were only offered drinks once. The staff was very inattentive, especially considering the restaurant was pretty bare. I hope that as time goes on, the unbelievably slow and evasive service is improved because this place has great potential.

eaten here 10 times-drove for the oysters an hour from our home. quaint and very simple- a throwback to the 1950s. service was always slow-became down right pathetically so. they hire people with little or no experience and always seem to be understaffed. excuses are bountiful. food bland, though fresh. great for the toothless and nursing home. god forbid any spices or flavors.

its like coming home every time - that is coming home to people who are happy to see you - remember your favorites - including where you prefer to sit and come visit with you to catch you up on the latest - but without being intrusive as you enjoy your meal - often i start thinking about what im wanting to have before i get there - so cozy and easy to be there -

This place is amazing. The food was incredible! So delicious. And the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is cute too. But the food makes you forget you are in such a small town where amazing food like this is a hit or miss at local restaurants. A bit pricey for the area, but worth it for an incredible meal and fresh seafood.

Joe and I went there last evening for my birthday dinner. It was excellent ! Weve been going there for years with Amy, Ed & Bob as owners and loved it always. Kudos to Tom & Rose who have taken up their mantel and added their own touches. It will continue to be one of our favorite GO to spots for excellent food and service.

Thank you Milford Oyster House! My most favorite place to eat! What a way to celebrate a birthday! Love your Oyster House Shellfish Stew - shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and lobster in a tomato bouillabaisse broth - love love love! I always start my evening off with Miflford Oyster House oysters on the half shell!

Milford Oyster House is a classic, American seafood restaurant in a really nice, quiet part of New Jersey, along the Delaware River. I recommend the smoked trout if they still have it as an appetizer, a selection of raw oysters, and of course, any fish main course.
