Their prices do not match the quality of food they offer. My first bad experience was when I found a piece of plastic in my salad. After calling to let them know they apologized and offered me dessert. I accepted because mistakes happen and the plastic could have come from packaging. The next time I ordered breakfast, a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. After picking up my order and returning to work I realized there was no bacon on my breakfast sandwich. I called to complain once again and they apologized and promised me a bacon egg and cheese sandwich the next time I ordered from them. This was my second bad experience so I held off on ordering from them for a few months. They do not deliver so when they make careless mistakes it is up to the customer to go back to their location to get the correct order. Today I decided to order a Greek salad and after returning to work with my order I realized it was nothing more than a chopped salad with feta cheese. It had no olives and no grape leaves. This salad was $12.20 so Im expecting it to taste phenomenal and contain all the ingredients. It was not worth the money or the time it took to go back and pick up a new salad. In addition to this diner constantly messing up orders and having lackluster food, the woman at the front register was rude. Once I arrived to pick up the order she simply pointed me to another man and told me to deal with him. That salad was horrible as well. I will never order from this diner again and I wish I could give them zero stars for having such terrible service time and time again. They get 1 star because the cheesecake was delicious but thats about it.

4/5/17 I have been coming to the Westfield diner for years and have introduced many friends and acquaintances to this diner as well. The food has always been pretty good. That being said, I recently had such a negative experience there that I will NEVER give them my business again and will stop referring business. I was there for breakfast and ordered an omelette off the menu - it came out and was made incorrectly. I asked the waitress to take it back and have them remake it. This took about 15-20 minutes ( during which time the person I was dining with finished there meal). When it finally came out it was missing ingredients. At that point I decided to just eat it because who knows how long it would have take for them to remake it a second time but I did bring it to the owners attention (Sophia). When we went up to pay the bill I was hoping Sophia would offer to discount or comp that item, as that would have been the appropriate thing to do as a gesture of good customer service. She did NOT offer anything, not even an apology. I explained to her that i am a regular customer, who also refers business there and asked her to discount the bill. Sophias reply shocked me and the person I was dining with. Her response was - " you ate it didnt you? My cook was very upset that you sent it back". I could not believe her poor business demeanor. I politely explained to her that it is not the customers fault of her cooks dont know how to make the order properly. In summary, I no longer recommend Westfield Diner based on the extremely poor, rude management/customer service.

Previous trips here were above average, but today was horrible and I will NEVER return. Service? Abysmal. Waitress threw food at us. Then never returned to ask about our food or refill my 6 oz. $2.25 soda or my guests $2.00 coffee. Walked by our table at least 5 times and my glass was on the edge of the table. Hint, hint! Ok, I get the bill. Fries are supposed to come with the sandwich. Chicken salad sandwich (small, on white bread) was $7.00. I then get a whopping extra charge of $4.75 for a few fries on a separate plate. Uh, what? $15.00 for a small soda, small sandwich and fries. ????? Yeah, ok. I took it up politely with the waitress. MAJOR attitude and insisted I was wrong. She goes to grab a menu to supposedly prove her point. Directly under the "Sandwiches" section of the menu says: "Greens can be substituted with French fries, no additional charge." Shes like, "Oh oh, this cant be right." Absolutely comical! Its in black and white! I then took it up with management who eventually took it off the bill. However, they claimed fries come with everything on that page of the menu, EXCEPT sandwiches. Just a really miniscule problem, it doesnt say that anywhere on the menu! So waitress was beyond rude and so nasty, horrible service, misleading menu, management that was rude and unapologetic. Would NEVER return. Would rather skip food for a week than ever set foot on this property again. Greedy/nasty owners, beware!

Despicable service. It honestly does not even deserve one star. The customer service is horrendous. It was the first time my co-workers and I went to this diner and the waitresses were just awful. They did not want to serve us and one server even lied saying that we had not decided what to eat when had not even approached us or asked us what we wanted. I think they serve with the mind to expect money (tips) rather than serving with a genuine mind to please the customers. I felt judged and even discriminated. To top it all off, I even asked for barbecue sauce and what I got was what looked like cheap tomato sauce. When I asked the hostess bout the barbecue sauce she said, "No one has ever complained about the barbecue sauce." What a wonderful way to answer. I am never going this diner and I will never recommend it.

This is about the best diner around in the north/central sector of NJ. Their prices are comparable to other central NJ diners. The food is very good, especially the Specials of the day, and quality is not detracted by quantity. And boy do they give you enough. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and the staff is A-1. Especially the waiters on the late afternoon/dinner shift. If Sophia (her comments are here) had a bad experience, she should have brought it to the staffs attention. Too bad Sophie, but good news is there are plenty of other eateries in Westfield....

I have gone to the Westfield Diner my whole life. Its hit or miss. You either have a decent time with average service and food, or the opposite. Ive been there and had a great time, but have also been there and been disappointed by each of the aforementioned categories. They also dont split checks anymore, for some reason, and that is a huge reason why me and my friends dont return. (Splitting checks is SO EASY! I have seen them do it before! why stop and lose the business? Not sure. Especially when every other place is more than willing to do this.)

Had lunch with friends during memorial day weekend. All sandwiches were boring with chicken breast overcooked. After youre done eating and you get the check the only thing you liked so far was the service eventhough she forgot a few things. I cant stop feeling that for that type of money ($25p/p) you could have a much better meal somewhere else in Westfield. It probably would have been a much smarter choice to go with breakfast.
