My friend keeps posting her food porn whenever she hits this spot, and I am such a sucker for French Toast that I made it my mission to check out this quaint cafe (even took my family with me) yesterday. Was with 4 people and @11:30 AM had no wait time and seated ourselves inside. Food arrived in a timely manner. Coffee was regular, French toast was good but nothing special (Ive had better), Quiche with goat cheese and side of fruit salad was good, cup of butternut squash soup (a bit too sweet), croissant sandwich with turkey breast, and wild salmon burger, both with a side of fries, tasted okay. Overall, Im giving the food/presentation 3-stars, but I have to say, theyre pretty over-priced(Probably paying for the ambiance). Sadly though, Im giving only 1 star coz of STAFF/ SERVICE...BE WARNED! My bill came out to be waaay more than what I was expecting to pay. Had to read the tab and go over each item only to see that the waitress crossed out the printed total ($59 pre-tax)AND wrote another amount($76.80 post-tax). Went up to the counter and asked lady to recalculate, but she looked at me and just said the tip was already added in the bill. Confused(coz their menu clearly printed an 18% gratuity for bills of $50 will be added), I informed her that she added over 18%, which she was quick to respond "For parties over 4, it is 20%". I asked where this was written, this lady just shrugged her shoulder...WTH??? Told her that they should mention this before adding it automatically. I should have read the reviews from previous customers before coming here; this same issue has happened and apparently continues. Manager/owner should do something about this. Personally, I think tipping is essential and should even be encouraged where applicable, but it should NEVER be imposed on the customer and especially NOT WITHOUT being forewarned. Good thing their French Toast wasnt over the top for me or I would have to deal with this tipping issue everytime Im craving it.

I have been going here for a while and have has been the overpriced but cute place I go when I want to sit down and enjoy a late and crepes in silence typically alone, last time I got the wrong order but being positive I thought, hey it is meant to be that I try this today. Yesterday I went with a friend, we arrived before closing, we were not explained it was almost closing, we ordered 2 lattes and crepes to share for almost $23 + tip. The lattes were served in paper cups (not my expectation but hey), prematurely took away our sugar, did not bring spoons to stir, the waiter immediately brought us the check and demanded the credit card, we agreed, then demanded the signature so he can finish the process (ackward because we had already paid), took away everything on the table (all this within 10-15 minutes) or being there, we asked them why didnt they let us know they were closing, as we were expecting a peaceful time not to be disrupted every 15-30 seconds, his response was that "the natzis" were ordering him to act that way. He then took all the cushions off the outdoor seats and asks us for the cushions, we asked to speak to the "natzis" ourselves as we didnt think our treatment was fair. A lady came out, very quiet and just apologized saying that they close at 10:00 pm, and it was already 10:05 pm. We left shortly after, they rushed to removed the cushions, we thought it was pathetic. We thought to ourselves, we will never set foot in that place, I typically visit, my closest friend had her bridal shower there, i do take out there, it is disgusting how 1 person can make a big difference in service taint the image for a business. I will make sure I spread the word. I didnt feel they were sorry and the move rushing to remove the cushions that was pathetic.

Sadly today was my last day at CAFE PARIS. I just came from having dinner there, and I had a bad experience with the blonde waitress. She is extremely rude. I usually go there every Sunday for Brunch and it is always busy. Tonight I was just passing by and we decided to go inside. The place was empty. The blonde waitress asked me: how many? I replied "we are seven". She arranged the tables and then she gave me an attitude and said: "next time you need to make a reservation b/c we are very busy". The place was empty and had available tables the whole time. She ruined my Saturday afternoon. I have been going to this place for two years now, and this is the first time I hear I needed reservations; the place was empty. Very bad costumer service. Every time I go I feel the bad energy from the blonde waitress. I am going to start looking for other alternatives. This is not the only cute place that exists here in Metuchen. I will go try BAGUETTE PARIS in EDISON. The owners and waitresses of CAFE PARIS must be grateful to their costumers. We are the ones who keep their business open. They just lost a costumer and all my circle of friends. Im glad Im finally opened my eyes tonight. NO MORE CAFE PARIS!!!!

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this terrific little cafe/restaurants within the heart of metuchen. Great service, soothing atmosphere and freshly amazing food. Everything amazing: crabcake & shrimp galette, soy nut cappuccino, buttered croissant, vanilla milkshake, Turkey & brie on a croissant and the regular cappuccino all five star. Next time crepes or quiche! Definitely a next time. I felt like I was inside Disneys Ratatouille movie but as a Cafe! With the demise of le crepe in East Brunswick this is my new go to spot.

The food was great but I could have used a little more on the service. Took a while for us to get service. Then she brought us our drinks but she was touching every aspect of our straw with her hands which I didnt appreciate. She also forgot to take the order of one of the 6 people we were with. Beyond that the food had such great flavor but I ordered a side for potato chips with my gallete and they were basically just lays potato chips spread on a plate. Creme brulle was fantastic though. Great artwork and decor on the walls.

First and last time Im going to this place. Asked for a chocolate brownie, the guy working gave me a chocolate chip cookie instead. Then I bought a chocolate mousse crepe (overpriced to begin with). Charged $11 for it and gave me a tablespoon sized scoop of ice cream. I took it to go and there were no forks or knives or napkins in the bag. Am I supposed to eat this crepe with my bare hands?

Cafe Paris is a fabulous place to go to. The food, the ambiance and the service is great. You cant go wrong with anything you order. The food is delish, the drinks are tasty and everyone is friendly. Id recommend this place to everyone i know. The metuchen location is open. Google must have a glitch in the system....oops!

Great restaurant/cafe. Came here for a birthday lunch with some friends. The atmosphere is great and has this feeling of being in Paris. I really loved the Almond Joy Cappuccino. I wish they had more chicken options in Sandwiches. I got the only one sandwich and it was not bad. This can also be a great place for a Date!
