Cactus Charleys is the most authentic Mexican in the area. Fresh ingredients - and it shows. The Guacamole is fantastic... and the chips come out warm with the salsa as an appetizer. I have been about 10 times since this place opened... One wish is that they would add more cilantro to the salsa - but that is the only criticism i can offer. Go there!

Horrible service! Charges us 56 dollars when I only ordered $27 worth of food. They charged for “hot sauce” ($3.00) that should already be on the table. They ripped us off and refused to work with us on getting our $ back. They then added a tip for themselves into the final price. So essentially we tipped twice! This place is a scam!

If this were Los Angeles, Id give this restaurant four stars only because of the ubiquitous availability of Mexican food in the area. But here in New Jersey, this is hard to find. Experiment with dishes besides the standards. Taco. Burrito. Enchilada. Dont get me wrong, those are good here, but their tilapia is fantastic.

Great service, food came out fast. Salsa was perfectly fine with the warm chips. Started with the quesadillas with chicken they were good. Got the Chimichungas with chicken...good portion rice and beans spot on. My wife got the taco salad she liked it was well. Will definitely come back.

Pros: Nice looking, quaint restaurant. Cons: Service was impersonal - almost as if the server was annoyed I came in to eat. Ultra cons: The food was bland. I tried the combination plate with a burrito, chimichanga, and enchilada, so I could sample their menu, and all of them were bland.

I was hungry and it was convenient, so I went in with my wife ... No beer?! 80% watered down salsa to start with. As I went for dip #4, I caught a hair! I took a picture of it and posted it (you will see as you flip through the photos). Thats enough for me! I walked out after that.

First and foremost the food is excellent but the service sucks especially the delivery service how are you going to deliver food with no change for the customer. Second need to have an inviduals that understand English when taking orders over the phone. Very disappointed.

Overpriced. Felt like they cut corners. Soda was $2.25 for a can? You get three small quesadilla pieces for $9? One plate of chips for free and then they charge you extra? I know its the nice area of Maplewood, but it was a rip. Ive had better Mexican.

Salsa and chips were amazing! Service is courteous and very welcoming! The design of the place is really beautiful and the New Jersey burrito a great vegetarian option (Vegan with no cheese and sour cream, still really good!) Very recommended!
