After a quick basketball game down the block with some friends, we headed over to Nickys to get 2 pies to take home. One of the individuals in our group ordered a plain pie, and another went to order a pepperoni. It was at that time that the young lady at the counter began to show her nasty side. She didnt even let the girl talk before she told her to go to the other side to dine in. Umm, we all came in together, so we were all clearly not dining in. Once we got that cleared up, she ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was all down hill from there. We waited for 10 minutes, and 3 of the group went and got gas. They drove a few blocks down, filled up, came back 15 minutes later and nothing. After about 5 minutes, we heard a guy in the back ask what we were waiting for, which is when the girl up front told him. It wasnt until then that we saw 2 pizzas being made for us. We waited another 15-20 minutes, and still no pizza. We went to ask the girl up front and she had this condescending tone and said "Itll be done soon, give me 15 minutes." Well, we got the plain pie but still no pepperoni. A few other customers were also there waiting, all of which had called ahead. One of them even asked us how long we had been there. In any case, the pizza finally came out BUT....they came out with a buffalo chicken pizza. Most of us didnt care for it, and she said wed get a pepperoni in a few minutes. We decided not to risk another long wait, so 2 of the girls in our group proceeded to ask her for a refund. Well, her attitude turned even worse and at one point when she was asked a few minutes later about the refund and she said loudly "YES" and then picked up the phone in the corner and ignored them. That is when I got up and called someone else working there and asked for the refund. Im assuming the gentleman who helped me was a manager or owner because he was very respectful, understanding and prompt. Nonetheless, the damage was done. I can understand that things can get busy and hectic, but I highly recommend this place get a new counter person. This young lady was rude and had a horrible attitude. It also doesnt help that she somehow confused pepperoni for buffalo chicken. Dont work at a job like this if you dont know how to talk to and treat customers. If anyone cares to know, the counter girl was a short young girl, maybe early-20s and looked like she was asian and possibly a student from a nearby school. We called Godfather in Morristown on the drive back home and by the time we got there 10-15 minutes later our pie was ready. Very disappointing, because the pizza at Firehouse is actually not bad. Sorry to say that we wont be returning.

I cant say that Ive experienced a single bad meal here. I frequent this restaurant a few times every week during lunch, and maybe a dinner every once in awhile. To touch on the food: The pizza is always fresh, and more times than not they will have the type youre craving out and ready to serve. I really enjoy the selection of pastas and the wraps, the buffalo chicken wrap to be exact. They have a variety of appetizers to satisfy any appetite, and are a great way to start a meal. I personally order the calamari, buffalo wings or caprese. Outside of the great food, I really enjoy the atmosphere this restaurant provides. They keep it organized and constantly clean; not only the dining area but the restrooms as well. Too many places ignore the fact that people go to restaurants for the entire experience, not just the food. I cannot comment on the delivery service, as I live too close thus I choose to order out. However when I do order out, they stick to the time they gave you. If I was told it will be ready in 20 minutes, I can be assured I will not be standing around waiting. Lastly, I wanted to touch on just how personal and appreciative the staff is to have you in the restaurant. The owner loves to meet people and remembers who you are every time you come back, and that means a lot. You wont find the same kind of hospitality anywhere else, in my opinion. If I had to suggest a place to eat in Madison for a casual lunch, or even a nice dinner with friends/family, Nickys Firehouse is where I would tell them to go. You can even BYOB!

This is a wonderful place to go with 4 or more friends. Great Apps. The best Brick Oven Pizza this side of the Hudson. Authentic Italian dishes. Weve only had Pizza and various Apps, but the table next to to us said the Shrimp Fra Diavlo and Shrimp Parmigiana were to die for. Their Lasagna they had looked pretty good, too. Anyway, a great place to go with a group of friends, but also a nice romantic quite place for two. Whomever that is, that wrote "AMATEURS" and "IT STINKS" must be a troll and work for the competition down the road or something. My experiences have always been a fun, pleasant and attractive wait staff. But, only two tables, and they forgot? You can do better than that. And....you ordered a sandwich?!?!?

I took 2 clients to Nickys Firehouse Restaurant for lunch Tuesday of this week, what a great experience! The food & service was so good my clients were very impressed. We had chicken parmigiana, (which melted in your mouth) chicken francaise (client left nothing on his plate) & firehouse salad with grilled chicken, portions were large & delicious.. Our server was very nice & attentive. Would highly recommend anyone to bring their clients here, you will definitely impress them. Thank you Nickys Firehouse Restaurant for making me look so good. Would recommend to anyone to come here for lunch or dinner.

This review is based upon a recent order we had delivered. Since renovating the restaurant this place seems to have taken a step back. The good-great buffalo wings-could rank as the best in the area. Mozzarella sticks, stuffed clams, all good. And they deliver. The not so good: The pizza is not as good as it was before the renovations, thin crust and kind of greasy. The ham and cheese calzone had smoked ham in it-some may like that, we didnt. Also, they have issues getting the delivery order right, but the service is usually fast. We had a problem with our order and the owner did make it right.

Im back again as we attempted to visit this place one more time to see if it was any better and today the service was horrible - no waitress - asked the manager to take our order, he said ok, then proceeded to take a phone order (that rang in after I told him I wanted to order) then once that was done he helped someone else - WHO CAME IN AFTER ME! This place is a joke, 100% - there are way better places to give your money - who treat you with respect and fast service - 2 times for me is to many.

At Nickys, there pizza is just amazing. I go there all the time and they are so kind to me. I was out with my mom and others, i ordered half buffalo and half plain pizza. The man at the counter mistook it so we got just a buffalo pizza. But he offered us a discount for the confusion. Very friendly and there food is amazing. Will always recommend to anyone. And one more thing, please have more spinach pies!
