Decided to venture with my family for a bite of some indian food in my area and came across Tandoori Chef. The place looks pretty ligit from all the other reviews and picture posted on Google and decided to give a try, but was quickly not impressed once there. The service was a bit slow and the food was not worth the wait...and we did wait a little while before being served. My wife and I had a few different items and didnt care to finish our food because much of it had no taste nor flavor. Not worth the price we paid and I feel like we were overcharged at the end. What bothered me the most though about my experience at this place was that I felt some racism while there. A few minutes after arriving and being seated an indian family arrived and their order was taken right away and were served shortly after. We were still waiting for someone to take our order. Finally our order was taken. And we waited and waited and waited. While waiting, another indian family comes, their order was taken right away and they were served before us. Upsetting to say the least and wanted to leave, but my family and I were hungry so decided to wait to be served last. Perhaps this is why the service was slow for us. I have a Spanish name but Im actually indian just grew up in a Spanish country. Im not proud right now to be Indian because of how I was treated. You people make all the good indian people look bad. Another thing there were some indian kids (i call them kids because they were behaving like kids) there...look like college students having dinner and were talking obsenely loud like they were at a bar and at one point yelling out the f word to each other like drunk retards. Youd think the staff would say something, but kept quiet. I had to tell them to not say the word because of my daughter being present. Shame on you. Dont you have any respect. Needless to say, I wont be going back here anytime soon if ever.

I went with my wife. Its hard to find a solid Curry House, but this one is pretty legit. I would have given five stars, but an unwillingness to provide a half order of saag paneer (because I like it with my meat dishes) was kinda a turn off. When will the USA Indian restaurants understand that we dont need another portion of rice with the veggie dishes and just want it to go with our meat? The UK gets it right. Unfortunately this place doesnt. However, the quality and taste of the food are good. Also, its BYOB-- which we didnt know. The delivery driver was kind enough to pick us up some beers (and didnt even charge us more for them!). If in the area, try it out!

If like me you love real authentic Indian food and have been searching forever in Bergen County to find a GREAT restaurant look no further. I think Ive tried all the restaurants in the area, Route 4, 17, Ridgewood etc, and even though we moved 10 miles away I still travel back when the urge for a Pakora or Vindaloo takes me. Friendly service, generous portions and the personal touch. Its a small place, and it can be kind of quiet on weeknights, Friday & Saturday after 8pm are best if you like the buzz of chatter when youre eating. (P.S. Id go as far as saying this place beats most of Manhattans little India)

I went for a buffet on Saturday. Probably one of the worst Indian food I have had in this country. Spoke to the manager to understand if there was something wrong with the place but the manager had no clue. Smelled really bad - had a odor of a dead rat around the place. I dont understand why people have given such great reviews to this place but I asked the manager and he said 2 things, buffet food might not be as good as take out and most of the people writing reviews are American. After hearing that I thought as a Indian I had to give a authentic review.

Excellent place to get your craving for Indian cuisine satisfied! My favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Veggie Samosas. My 3 year old is a picky eater but loves their samosas! The staff is friendly and gives great customer service. Also very informative to anyone who is trying out Indian food for the first time as I was months ago, now I always find myself coming back. In the afternoon, they have a great buffet with all kinds of authentic dishes to try. You definitely will NOT leave there hungry. Great place!

We have been going to this restarant to quite a while, formerly called Dhaaba, the food is very good, not very spicy even though i love the food to be extremely spicy, the buffet is hot and fresh as well. Very clean and the staff is friendly as well.,BYOB as well. parking is kind of a hassle if you go during rush hours,

It was an okay place. We initially thought they had buffet.. but they didnt. Quite expensive of what we ate. Per head we paid around 30$ !!! Not worth at all.. chicken was not cooked well. Naan was ok. Biriyani was also curryish. Not my style.. waiter could smile. He was always serious .. Might not go back again
