Bombay grill is awesome! This was my first time with my family and I must say I was very impressed for a first impression. First off, upon arrival, there is a good amount of parking space. New city is a very lovely place so the location of the restaurant is very nice. The restaurant is very easy to spot, its sign is clear enough to see within the plaza that its located in. My family and I came for dinner so the inside of the restaurant had a warm, intimate, dim lighting to it. The restaurant was very clean, and when we were brought to our table, they light up a nice candle for us, and were very kind. The fritter appetizers were absolutely delicious, and the samosas were very good. My chicken tikka masala was great but the star of the show was THEIR GARLIC NAAN! A nice light crispness on the bottom with a warm fluffiness throughout, absolutely devine! We were helped by many different staff members and they all were very courteous and readily available to help and answer questions. They even provided us with a nice tall pitcher of water so that was a plus. The manager made sure to check on us and even treated us with a free dessert on the house! I believe it was galub, sorry if I butchered it haha, it was okay but a little too sweet for my taste but it was still a very kind gesture of him to do for us. Overall, the place is a cute and pretty restaurant scene nice for all occassions, the food is great, the staff is very attentive, and you certainly leave with a satisfied belly.

Great food. Excellent Value. My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Bombay Grill in New City, NY. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Bombay Grill has a buffet for dinner. I believe that you can still order from the menu, but the buffet is an exceptional value at only $14.95 per person, and we elected to try it. We were not disappointed. We were only looking for vegetarian cuisine and there was plenty to choose from. To start there was an assortment of salads, which we did not try, as well as a vegetarian Mulligatawny soup and three vegetarian appetizers. For the main courses there were about 6 veggie dishes plus two different rice dishes. While we did not sample the meat dishes, I heard from other diners that they were quite good. The food we had was delicious. It was well spiced and flavorful. For those who enjoy Indian cuisine I would describe it as lively but not too hot. It tasted fresh and not like food that is sitting around too long. The meal included a glass of wine and baskets of Indian bread. For desert, also included we had gulab jamun which was excellent as well. The texture was exactly as expected being neither too firm or too soft with lots of cardamom flavor. The service was excellent. The wine was brought quickly, and our bread basket was replaced when emptied. The waiters were attentive and cleared the buffet plates from our table as soon as they were finished. Overall I highly recommend the Bombay Grill.

My children and I were treated despicably and were embarrassed**** I used to love this place... But wont go back! We had a groupon for 2 people (I got as a gift)and then my son and his friend decided to join us, making it 4 people. We explained this to the manager before ordering and asked that he just give us 2 checks. He made a big deal of it and then decided when he realized I was a regular customer, that it was no problem. Then when we were packing our left overs I wanted to take the "non- groupon" bread with me and he said no, you cant take the non groupon bread home. Meanwhile it was my sons bread that he paid full price for on the regular check. He then changed his mind and said we could take the bread. At that point I was so mad that I told him what he could do with his bread and walked out. UNFORTUNATELY FOR HIM, he lost a long standing customer for no reason. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND WILL RECOMMEND THAT NONE OF MY FRIENDS GO BACK EITHER. I much rather go to a place that understands what good customer service is..... Everyone was looking as we had this disagreement over the groupon and the. The bread issue was just icing on the cake.

We come here for lunch once in a while from work and sometimes dinner. The food is not phenomenal, but there are always one or two items in their buffet which are okay. The staff is extremely rude and arrogant and are not very hospitable. When We Went For Lunch yesterday, We Were Rudely Asked To Sit On The Bar To Have Our buffet, But They Didnt Set THW Table Or Even apologize Or console US With A Free soda Or anything. Later, 20 minutes into our meal, when a table became vacant, we were told we could sit on the table if we wanted and we did, but even then, they didnt help us move all our plates and they didnt set the table for us this time either. So For A Second time, We Had To Ask For Napkins And Utensils. Since We Had To sit at the bar, we thought we may get a discount at least for the unfortunate situation, but that didnt happen either. Neither of us was happy. Chances of us going back are very slim.

My experience was with a dinner buffet in August 2013. Overall layout was pleasant. The pakoras were crisp, dahi vada was tender and succulent, the corn soup was delicious and the tarka dal was well done. It is also a delight to go to an Indian restaurant with katoris of different sizes corresponding to different dishes, as well as soup and dessert spoons. On the downside, the tamarind chutney was way too sweet and the mint chutney too bland. The vegetables were somewhat over-cooked, though eggplant was very well done. Too much ghee/oil on the naans - otherwise decent. The gulab jamuns and rice kheer was acceptable. Im vegetarian, so dont look to me for an opinion about cooked carcasses. Finally, the restaurant should provide cloth napkins and not paper. Service was very good. The meal was reasonably priced at around $14. I would definitely go again if traveling in these parts.

*****Poor Service***** . They only open on exact time and close at exact time, very punctual folks. once they almost cancelled our order just because we where 5 minutes late, and in mean while another guy came in and just made in a new order and time was 1135am .had to argue just in order to get food. vice versa on arrival at 1125 am. front door was open so decided to step in. suddenly staff member stated " we open at 1130am . please go outside! " seriously u guys need to step up first on basic customer manners. saffron and sitar palace have top class service compared to your communication and service! now its 1131am. let me see what the staff member is going to say. Will update review soon. Rice and Biriyani kept on plastic film or plastic wrap which is dangerous for health if u know impact of plastic on hot food.

4.5 stars...which isnt an option so went with 5. Very good food. The lamb samozas were very good and the mali kafta was very good. The Chiken Korma wasnt quite as "rich" tasting as Ive had elsewhere and some of the chicken was a little dry (Im being picky here) but still it was very good. The staff was amazing! Very polite, attentive, and friendly. They offered us a free puffed rice appetizer (amazing) and a free lentil curry type dish. The mango lassi was very good - slightly spicier then Ive had elsewhere - I think I like it more with the spice. A great place to stop especially if heading North on Palisades PKWY - it is right off exit 10...easy off and on.
