It was unexpected trip to NJ on the Thanksgiving Day 2016 and we were looking for some nice relishing Indian food and Google as usual gave us the option to choose Art of Spice, an Indian restaurant which had the most positive reviews & that was the best bet at that point. The ambiance of the restaurant was appealing in the first place and the menu stole my heart as they had all the variants that I like but as a human I didn’t quite like the pricing on the card but I ended up ordering some big fat list of dishes to see if the price matches the taste and the quality that I expect to pay for. The crew was friendly, they greeted me with papadums (Indian snack) with sauces which I liking to eat because of a person in my life (she liked them at Indian restaurants). The waiter at the restaurant was sweet even though I confused him with multiple orders, didn’t lose his cool in the transaction of 2 hours. Believe it or not, I haven’t had such a finger-licking Indian meal in my one and half year of the United States journey or the customer service matches any Indian restaurant I have been to. I would rate this experience a 5 star and would highly recommend this place. I might as well travel to NJ if needed if I am hungry and want to have Indian food which pretty much explains how happy I was for Thanks Giving in regards to the food. To end the story, I would conclude by saying “Art of Spice” has changed my perception towards Indian food in the United States.

Food: Good! We had butter chicken, paneer tikka, gobi Manchurian(best of all), some paneer appetizer(not so good), mango lassi (good), lime soda. Look and feel: Excellent! Nice Ambiance! Clean and nice decor. High ceilings. Low/no noise. Space: spacious! Service: Slow! Received well and quickly arranged reserved table. It took 5 min to get empty glasses, 10 mins to get water, menu didnt arrive until requested, and again had to call one to take the order. Food arrived a little more than normal time. Servers and attendant were professional. Recommend to learn more about managing restaurant at busy time, improve workforce etc to avoid waiters and attendants to be all over the place. Parking: parked on street. as it was Sunday. Friday Saturday it would be hard to find parking. Pricing: above avg! appetizers range in 10-12$ while main course in 18-20. 4 ppl~100$ Authenticity: Very Indian, upscaleish, Elegant. Romantic: Good place for a date. Liquor: no. Customers: attracts some posh crowd of all ethnicities. Special: no specials for Mothers day. Availed yelp 10% discount. Will come back: Yes!

Worst experience i ever had. The one star I gave them was primarily because I cannot give a zero star. Their staff behavior is very rude. They just need money, least bothered about customer satisfaction. We(5 people) went for lunch in late afternoon, their staff let us start lunch together(buffet). With in 2 minutes we got our table cheque and in 8 minutes they removed food from buffet area without asking anyone in restaurant. We were shocked with their behavior and asked one of their staff, he simply replied kitchen is closed. We simply paid table bill of 70$ with 0.00 tips and left that place.

Great authentic Indian food, nice ambiance and decor& smiling staff, but a rude restaurant manager. All other staffs will behave with courtesy, but I got a very bad experience from the restaurant manager. I recently hosted a party there, most of my guests are very uncomfortable with the behaviors of the restaurant manager. The restaurant manager even hesitant to accept credit card as well as giving a check. He even asked for extra 7% to accept cards as well as provide a receipt

Just ate here for the first time and it was amazing. I dont usually write reviews but Ive been trying to find good Indian food in my area for a long time and I can tell you this is the best. Atmosphere is fantastic. Presentation is beautiful. And every food is wonderfully flavored and the meats are tender and moist. I am very impressed. Coming back for sure!!

I have been coming here for a bit of time, and every time I came the food was excellent. The staff is great, and the ambiance is excellent. I work close by and the food is as good to home cooked as one can get. The best dish is definitely the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the secret bread not on the menu to ask for is the coconut nan bread.

Staff was rude and sarcastic, dont understand what goes for hospitality these days. We came to the restaurant almost before closing time, it would have been nice to deny politely that the buffet will be closed. But Instead he sarcastically said will you be able to finish eating in 2 min.. I mean why do you guys pay/keep such staff.

Shrimp app was tasty but really less quantity for $13 . Also the shrimp were really small in size. Biryani was supposed to be dum biryani but the taste was nowhere close to it. Menu is expensive compared to the food quality and quantity served. I dont mean hurt anyones buisness but its just an honest feedback.

Awesome Indian food. They make it to your taste. Great customer service, which is hard to find at Indian restaurants. We ordered a lot more food, and asked the server to pack, he simply added two extra rice boxes based on the quantity of entree we had left. Will definitely come back when in the area.

Great Indian food. The menu has the basics but some unique dishes too. The naan was so good when fresh. This was our first time at the restaurant as we usually order on line. We will be back for sure! The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and spacious. This is also BYOB so be prepared!

Service could have been better, food was delicious and so was ambiance. Edit: service got much better, their jalapeño naan is out of the world and their daal is must have. Ps: been there six times with different family and and friends, they all voiced same opinion.

Love this place. Very authentic tasting with great service. The restaurant has very high ceilings and is decorated with extreme taste. During th e week, there may be problems parking if you go early. I have not had problems with parking on the weekend.

I have tried many Indian restaurants, Sydney to DC. This is one of the best I have been too. Amazing food, clean environment and great service. Loved their mutton Biryani, chicken kaDai and Indian milk tea. Cant wait to go their again.

I had a very bad experience , they charge more money and they provide very less quantity .. they provide food which is not worth of the amount you pay ... if you go with friends ... then this is not the right place :-)

We stumbled upon Art of Spice while in Hackensack on business. I live an hour away but plan on returning soon. The lunch buffet was the best I have ever had. I cant stop thinking or talking about it!!
