The only reason this place is getting 2 stars out of 5 is because the food was decent and the owners were nice. We were seated and waited 15 minutes before I finally went up to the hostess stand and asked for a waitress. Then the waitress, Joyce, came over with an attitude and was said "Oh, are you guys ready?" really Joyce?!?!?! We ordered an appetizer, and our food. I ordered a grilled cheese and since my sandwich didnt come with fries I ordered the disco fries from the appetizer list to go with my food. We waited forever, still no appetizer. Our main dishes come out first, she didnt bring it all at once and when I asked for the tomatoes i requested on the side she snapped back at me and said she cant carry everything. My friends burger that she ordered was just bun and cheese... she took the plate out without the burger even on top!!! When she came back with the burger we told her to cancel the appetizer, thinking she had forgotten it... but NO! She said she figured we were in a rush and wanted it all at once. Well #1 Why wasnt it brought at once and #2 why would you assume that. Then when she finally comes back with the appetizer she says to me, you know the disco fries are an appetizer right... yea lady... i ordered it WITH my sandwich!! We were wrong no matter what and she was right. Customer service at its worst! Ive waitressed before, and believe this is not rocket science! Be polite and get the order right... not that difficult! Shes a beast and needs to be locked in a cage. Maybe she should find another job where she doesnt have to deal with people... because she has ZERO people skills. HORRIBLE!!!! If you happen to eat there and get stuck with her, request someone else!

Average food and discriminatory behaviour! I went to this place with my family on a Sunday morning for a brunch after seeing 4+ rating on Google. The server attended us OK initially, however, she didnt come back even once to ask as to how things were and didnt refill coffee (I had to stand up and go to the owner to request for refill and then he came himself). On the other hand, this person was entertaining another family very well, unlike the way she did to us, right next to our table. It was clear from seeing the staff and clientele that this place is used to one group of population only, which is highly surprising given that this diner is in Secaucus, NJ, a very cosmopolitan city! At checkout, I mentioned to the owner that I was very frustrated with the way we were treated. He just mentioned sorry and advised me to come again! The irony is that owner was likely an immigrant himself...

Lovely diner, wonderful food, welcoming staff. For an out-of-the-way diner (and its definitely off the beaten track), this place is way better than we expected. We were welcomed warmly, allowed to select our own table, and treated with respect and courtesy. Our server was very good-- she kept the coffee coming and checked up on us several times. The food is plentiful and really good, and the coffee is some of the best diner coffee Ive had. We are very thankful to have found this little spot. If youre ever in the Secaucus area, make sure you check them out. We couldnt be more pleased with our experience!

If it wasnt the only thing open during my work schedule I would never eat here. Ive ordered from them at least 6-7 times and each time Ive hoped and prayed that the food tastes more like actual food. Its just RIDICULOUS!!! whats worst is that the Vaseline isnt included in their prices; by their standard it probably wouldnt be any aid in soothing the raping their overall experience consists of. Just save your money and eat as ffffaaaaaarrrrrrr away from LEGENDS DINER!!! Youll regreat it every time.

The daytime waitresses need to learn some manners. I frequent this place usually at night and have not had any problems. I went there on Tuesday 2/1/11, upon asking for another cup from a different pot, because this cup tatsed horrible. The waitress did everything she could to convince me I was wrong. I finally gave up, I will not return there in the daytime anymore. Also there nachos were horrible.

The diner is could be called "Real American". Eventually here is everything what we love and hate in America. Yeah, in the middle of Jersey. Diner is nice, stuff pretty easy and friendly, tremendous amount of food offered. Taste is... Taste is the average taste of something could be eatable. Good experience, honestly and yeah, i would love to came back.

I am so upset I came from california and was trying to enjoy a breakfast here first off my order was wrong second I asked for a large oj and they came with a cup with about 4 ounces of juice then the manager comes and tells my kids to shut up because there was older people eating so we just got up and left that was so unprofessional

This place is decent. Classic American diner, chrome interior with pictures of classic 40s and 50s. The food is decent. The grits are good and the potatoes are fine. I would go back but I wouldnt go out of my way to go back. Staff is friendly and facilities are clean.

I read the reviews, I walked in by myself greeted and got self seating where ever. Being patient and friendly goes a long way. My food came out fast and perfect, (breakfast) after a long night in AC. The location is kept clean, no greasy tables.

We found this place when looking for an open diner at 4 am. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The owner came by to talk with us near the end of our meal and brought us fresh coffee and tea. I highly recommend this place.

This diner is staffed by owner on site & friendly waitress. the food was way more than we could finish.. the food is typical for diner.. what made me comment was I got what I paid for a resonable meal @ a good price

Spot is okay. When nothing is open and all else fails this is the spot. Food is okay nothing yo brag about typical diner food. Dont go and order anything fancy like shrimp parm but youll be fine with a burger.

This place was shockingly nice. It was so warm and welcoming. We were seated promptly. The waitress was very nice! Food came out delicious and quick! They were so friendly and quick!
