Is there an option for No star ?! So I have 3 scenarios to give a horrible review on this place. My coworkers and I travel to this area often and have been to this place several times as the food there is genuinely good. The family who owns this restaurant knows some coworkers (who travel very often) on first name basis and are very nice to them. The rest of us, unfortunately, got the true service when we were not with the platinum group. So here are my 3 scenarios that will stop me from going there ever again: 1. Few months ago we ate there in a big group (15+). As various across table conversations are expected in a large group, the grouchy lady owner who was taking the orders told one of the coworkers to stop talking as he was disturbing her and she couldnt understand a particular persons order. She said he was too loud and needed to be quiet. Other patrons literally looked at our table in disbelief on the words that came out of her mouth. Few minutes later, she came back and screamed that we all need to stop being so loud as we were giving the chef (her hubby I guess) a headache! Well, we should have learnt our lesson that night to not come back, but it is all about giving a 2nd chance, right? 2. Last night we called at 630pm to find out what time they close (website said 830pm). She (grouchy lady!) said they close at 8pm. We politely mentioned the site said otherwise. She told us that they close early if there is no reservation so the last walk-in will be 7pm. We asked if we can make a reservation for 730pm in that case. She obviously refused to take the reservation and told us that we need to show by 7pm if we need to eat there. Well (I repeat), we should have learnt our lesson yesterday to not ever go there again , but it is all about giving a 3rd chance, right? 3. So, since we couldnt eat there yesterday due to early close and we craved for the Gyros, we decided to squeeze in lunch over there in between meetings. We called in on our drive in and told her we were ordering ahead as we were on a time crunch. We got there in 15 min and settled down with our drink (It is a BYOB place so we brought few cans of coke with us). She made a HUGE fit about bringing in soda while eating at her restaurant. We apologized for the misunderstanding as we have always walked in with our wine at nights so we assumed any BYOB is valid. My manager, infact, walked up to her to apologize and even offered to not open our cans and buy from them instead. She blasted at him and also said that we should have just done a take-out order instead and there was no reason to dine in. Well, we quietly finished up our (last) meal there, paid, and left without making too much noise. We all were equally pissed at her behavior and did not appreciate her horrible attitude towards her customers. Mom and Pop restaurants usually run well because love is served along with the food cooked. Obviously this family lacks that! I hope they read this and realize that they made her patrons feel unwelcomed and unwanted over a can of coke that was supposedly allowed!

I agree the food was delicious for the most part. The customer service however was terrible. I ordered the Kleftiko which is lamb medallions with spinach cheese and potatoes. The waiter never asked me how I wanted the lamb cooked however any good chef knows the value of a good cut of meat and cooks it on the rare side. This lamb tasted more like veal than lamb. The "medallions" were tiny, tough and completely over cooked. I rummaged through the cheese and spinach to find one decent piece of lamb... nothing. When I said something to an employee she promptly went to get her boss. A very jolly woman came to the table (I had admired her happy demeanor earlier) next to me inquiring about a complaint. The people at the table politely guided her my way. She asked what the problem was. I explained. She said, "thats how the chef cook it." I said it was over cooked. She said, "lamb is that way. Fist time you have?" I replied, "No I have had lamb numerous times and normally it was incredibly tender and this just didnt seem right. It almost tastes like veal." She said there is no veal on the menu, offered no suggestion or remedy and just walked away making me feel silly for bringing to her attention. The entire staff disappeared for the next 15min. We got the bill and no credit was applied to the bill. Its a shame because my the rest of the meal was delicious. My fiances pork medallions were perfect size and perfectly cooked. I would have no issues if the woman "boss" spoke to me with a little respect and offered to make the meal right.

Instead of the same old same old of "All you can eat Crabs" my family opted for trying out the Athenian Garden. Thank God for that decision! What a truly memorable experience we had. The food was exquisite and spot on with traditional Greek fare. We will come here every time we visit and quite possibly visit here because of this restaurant. It was that good! So go ahead and treat yourself.

I have been frequenting Athenian Garden for years. Consistency of service and wonderful food are this family restaurants hallmark. I very much appreciate good Greek cuisine and this is where it lives. I feel that everything is fresh (often from their own garden) and made to order. This is a healthy place to eat as compared to so many commercial establishments.

Pretty good. The service was a little slow. Not the best Greek food Ive ever had but it was good. When I got there, I was the only one there. It remained that way the whole time. The staff were nice. Overall good.

The food is as authentically Greek as it gets -- and delicious! Its cozy and feels like Im at the home of family and friends. Its run solely by a Greek family of four. They look Greek too...
