Food quality is well above average as compared to any of the hibachi places Ive been to in Ocean or Monmouth county. This was my second time visiting Fuji of Forked River. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The establishment was very clean and well lit; very authentic looking decor. We dined there December 11, sitting at one of the hibachi tables. I had the shrimp and scallops, while others on my group had steak and shrimp, and steak and scallops. We ordered a spicy Tuna sushi roll as an appetizer to share, which was plenty and plenty tasty. Dinner came with the simple miso soup and green salad with ginger dressing. Our hibachi table chef was very well talented in his show a well as with his cooking ability. Rice, noodles, and entrees were extremely tasty, even my brother who is a very stubborn, picky eater offered only compliments. Our waitress was close by to offer drink refills or anything else she may have anticipated. I would definitely go back and recommend that others do the same. As to a previous reviewer who claimed management is stupid, is wrong, because the owners there must be doing something right.

My family took me out for my Birthday and some of the party was late . The wait staff would not let us order anything till we had everyone there. We could not even order drinks. When our party showed up the manager came to me and told me they had another party coming in right after us and we needed to be done by 8:15 . (What a rush ) the cook was amazing and food was amazing but the waitress had a bad attitude the entire time we were there. She got mad at us cause we didnt pay when she was ready for us to pay . We had a party of 10 and each couple did separate checks on each check their was a $10 tip fee . ( The crappie waitress got $50 tip) ????? . When we asked her how this is possible she pretended to not know Enhlish and said thank you by now. I will never come here again. That was absolutely horrible people skills and shame on you for ripping people off . FYI we tipped the cook $20 on our own cause he earned it. Horrible place.

I travel all over the country and have eaten sushi everywhere. NYC, Philly, Vegas, Chicago, Scottsdale... I have been to some of the top rated sushi places all over and have to say that right here in Forked River we have the best sushi hands down. Some people complain that it is expensive, but I would rather pay a little more for the quality and the quantity that they offer here. Compared to the other top places around (and everywhere in the country) I consider this more reasonable. Even if we have not been there for a 2 months or so the staff always welcomes us as if we have been in yesterday, and remembers the table we prefer to eat at. We have asked for extra items and have not been charged... maybe it is how you ask. I would recommend it

Been to this restaurant many times. Its pricey but the food is good. We called in about a $100 family order for takeout. Ww went to pick it up and my son asked for an extra ginger dressing for his salad. The cashier asked me for an extra .75 cents for the dressing? I complained but the lady said she wanted .75 cents. I paid her ransom but told her I would never come back. She cared less. Stupid management as my family ate there at least once a week. Any restaurant that could be that petty and not value their customers is not a place to frequent.

I live 10 minutes away and have an oppotunity to eat at this restaurant 2-3 times a week. Food is always fresh, service is excellent, atmosphere is relaxing. In Sushi section: FUJI ROLL is AMAZING!!!! Also SMOKED SALMON SUSHI (served ala cart) is absolutely best Ive ever tried!!! Also their green salad dressing is phenomenal! In Hibachi: make sure to try WHITE TUNA HIBACHI. It is very very good! It is BRING YOUR OWN WINE - so dont forget a bottle or two and enjoy!!!!!!!!! This place is deffinately worth the money!!!

Decent. Udon soup broth was bland. Tempura was slightly greasy. Prices are slightly above average. Noisy because of hibachi. Service was average. Sushi selection is great, lots to choose from, decent sushi fish too. Even have a sushi burrito on the menu. Decor is nice, but the furniture is very worn. Wobbly chairs, and lamination peeling off of the tables. 3/5

Greedy owners. I eat here about once a month. Tonight I decided to try the take out. Wow $25.00 for a single take out meal is insane. That is the same price as if sitting at a table. I’m not a cheap person but I’m a fair person. A takeout meal should not cost the same as a sit down. Food is good but not that good

For about 10$ you can have the most delicious hibachi rice, teriyaki chicken and vegetables, salad, soup, and a drink. Better than most other local japanese restaurants. I cannot vouch for the sushi, but the hibachi grill items on the menu are delicious. and Super Fancy bathrooms inspired by area 54.

BEST SUSHI EVER!!! I travel for business, and the only place Ive even found comparable sushi was in San Diego. Its always fresh and masterfully crafted. They also make the best Kani salad Ive ever tasted. Leagues above standard.

Excellent decor, love the fish tank. Service was good, food was very delicious, very generous too shooting sake in your face. My only complaint would be they dont serve noodles with hibachi lunch like most places.

Food is always good, but the prices are high. Also, i hate it when a server checks out the tip before you leave your seat. Entertainment by chefs always fun... some of course better than others.

Definitely the best sushi in the area! Im not a fan of hibachi but I know it is a favorite for groups and birthday celebrations. Watching the chefs is always entertaining too.
