I went for the first time this past weekend. I chose this restaurant because I am a vegetarian and I wanted to have more choices than I normally get at other places. we ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, Turkish coffee and dessert to split. everything was fabulous except my entree. appetizers were zucchini pancakes and cacik, which is cucumber, yogurt and mint served with pita bread. both appetizers were delicious and generously sized. the entrées: my friend ordered lamb shank and literally cleaned her plate. she is not a big eater so this was a good sign. I ordered veggie guvec, which looked and tasted like a blend of frozen and canned vegetables baked with paprika. seriously, it was frozen carrots and potatoes mixed with canned green beans and diced tomatoes baked in a dish. nothing I couldnt have made at home. since everything else was so filling, I just took this home to reheat with some couscous. next time I will try something different but I will definitely go again. between the bread and olives, plus 2 appetizers, dessert with complimentary Turkish delight candy, we had more than enough food to make up for the disappointing guvec.

Disappointed and annoyed with this place. Just got done eating here with my girlfriend and we both left feeling ripped off. The food was decent and this review isnt about the food.. it is about the service and how we left feeling scammed. We ordered 2 entrees and 1 drink. The behti entree was $16 and my 1/2 doner and kebab dish was $14, my girlfriend also ordered the yogurt Drink (absolutely disgusting; tastes like liquid cottage cheese). The server (only guy there) charged us $39 and I noticed right away that I was being overcharged. I brought it up to him and he looked at me confused as if I was the one who made a mistake. He showed me the receipt and I saw he charged me $18 for the chicken/lamb combo. I told him this wasnt what I ordered and he just looked at me the same way and mocked me, saying "you didnt have the lamb?" Instead of making a big deal, I just paid for my meal and left a tip. I hate leaving reviews like this because my parents own a small business too, but it left a real bad taste in the mouth. Place is also overpriced, average food, and I think the heat wasnt working. Never going back here.. unless I use a Groupon.

Istanbul is in a strip mall on US-206 southbound. It is next to a Chinese place and an Indian place, so there is no shortage of choices in this area. I dont get to have Turkish/Mediterranean food very often so its interesting to me. I had the doner kebab and lamb chops combination. I thought the kebab was pretty good. The lamb chop, however, was a bit tough. The rice and sauces, as well as the complimentary bread with olive oil, were all rather delectable. Where this restaurant fell down though is on service. Maybe its because we were only a party of two, but the server hardly ever looked in our direction so it took many tries to get her attention when we needed something. That was inexcusable. One would expect far better service when menu items are upscale priced.

Went here the day after Valentines and had a great time. The Istanbul Sampler was a great Turkish Sampler to whet the appetite! The menu listed 3 items on the sampler but it had 5, what a nice surprise! The Istanbul Combination for the Kebab selection was fantastic! It was 5 different kebabs and the sides of rice and vegetables. Shrimp Casserole was like shrimp and vegetables in a creamy lobster sauce. I did not know what to expect but I was quite satisfied!

Lovely environment, looks authentic. But thats were the honeymoon ended. The food was ample but aweful. I ordered the lamb shank. Clearly microwaved, veggies so overcooked they were sloshy. Heres the kicker though, when asked how the food was, I politely told them "dreadful". That made no difference to the rest of the evening. I paid full price, no apology was forthcoming. Id steer clear of this place if I was you.

Never too busy and that should tell you something. Its a place to go when you dont feel like driving to Patterson and having some real Turkish food. This one leaves you happy about the short drive and restaurant ambiance but definitely does not hit the spot with the food.

We love this place. Great food. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. We enjoy the atmosphere and the staff is helpful and attentive. Definitely worth the trip....again and again. Weve recommended this place to half a dozen folks and theyve all thanked us for this treasure.

Second time Ive been here with my wife and kids. They take such great care of us! The food is fresh and delicious(I got the humus app and eggplant kebob this time) and the staff really treated us like family. If you live around here or are visiting, Its a great choice.

The food is awesome and the portions are decent. The restaurant itself us also very tastefully decorated. The flavors are pleasingly aromatic. There are many choices for vegaterians too. They have take out which is usually the best option for us.

Great food, great service! Ordered the Turkish Ravioli (basically Russian Pemeni ) and have no complaints. Bread is great along with the sauce. Atmosphere feels culturally connected with Turkey. :)
