We look forward to delivering freight to Vermont and New Hampshire just so we have to stop here. If you are looking for the ultimate home town cafe, this is it. And have I mentioned the muffins? Mmm! Seeing the post "Yourworstnightmare" .............................................................................. it is important to let the staff correct any problems right away. We had a problem, got the waitress over and she corrected it. It is what it is. I read a book in high school entitled How To Get What You Want. What I got from the book is that you can usually get what you want by speaking up diplomatically with the attitude of cooperation being firm but friendly. Sometimes you have to do this. I urge you to come back and give them another chance. All the best to you.

I have gone to the fort since I was a wee one. Now at 25 years old I could still eat there everyday. They are very friendly and the food is always outstanding. I love all the workers as they make you feel like you are at home! Special shout out to Bruce, who is always amazing as our waiter as well as Ann, Jillian and Payton my little cousin who just started working here! Keep up the good work guys. You are great! Also.....they make the BEST sweet potatoe fries in the area.... breakfast and more!!!! (PS. I appreciate that you guys keep the same home fries recipe because it is tasty! try it covered in sausage gravy.......OMG YUM now i know what to order for lunch today! WOOT!!!!)

A great place for breakfast any time of day! Its a little bit out in the middle of nowhere (its literally in a gas station), but is much beloved and well-frequented by the community. Dartmouth students do often swing by for late night indulgences, which, combined with the normal truckers, makes for an interesting combination of company. The people who own this place are great, the serving sizes are fantastic, and the cakes and pies are gigantic. If you do come, come hungry!

Run by the same folks who have Lous Restaurant in downtown Hanover, but it has a much more real-world vibe (and rarely a line full of hungover college students waiting to get a table). No-nonsense diner food, light years better than any fast food restaurant, but not gourmet cooking or fancy ironic diner food like you get in big cities. Good options for vegetarians. Only downside: you have to pay extra if you want real maple syrup, and you get a tiny little bottle.

Had a great breakfast one day. Good food, good service, good prices. However, we have also gone in the evening for desserts (they have great pies and milkshakes) but received awful service. Zach, the worker, seemed disgusted that all we wanted was dessert and proceeded to make rude comments about each order and some questions that we had about flavors, etc. Disappointing that service this poor can ruin a place with otherwise good food and atmosphere.

Nice, clean little restaurant with large U type counter. Friendly people. Lot of truckers as well as locals. Food is very good. Try the turkey dinner. I always stop in there when in the area. Even when my motorcycle group has plans to eat elsewhere. Still great, but no longer do they have dark meat turkey. My favorites now are the home made hash and the deep fried bacon. You wont be disappointed.

The restaurants fairly clean and the staff is variablly friendly depending the time of day and who your waitress is. The food is Standard Diner fare thats pretty well cooked and appetizing but nothing you havent seen before. The service was Timely, and the staff were pretty attentive to the needs of the customers. Overall, its a fairly quaint diner that I wouldnt mind going to again.

We tried to eat here. We both ordered the New York strips with mashed potatoes and green beans. None of it was edible. Literally made me feel sick just the three bites I had. When I complained, the manager wouldnt even come out to talk to me. We are now sitting in our truck waiting on a pizza to be delivered. This was the nastiest "food" either of us has ever tried. Ugh.

Very relaxed, Americana diner. Food was delicious and plenty of it on the plate. VERY reasonable prices. Staff were attentive and the place is clean. Happened onto this lil truck stop by chance. Highly recommended! Only drawback, one stall in the mens washroom. Not that I like company while in there but glad I didnt have to wait. Pheeeeeeew!

For good ol fashioned, hearty American truck-stop food served in belt-busting portions at reasonable prices, try The Fort. Well go 50 miles out of our way when in New England to eat there, and if you have an RV you can sleep over in the truck lot and have both dinner AND breakfast. The home-made desserts are to die for, too.

Have been coming to this place since the late 1990s and have never been let down. Everything on the menu is delicious. In the 17 years I have been coming to this place, the service is always great. Breakfast all day/night is fantastic! If you are ever traveling thru the area, or even live in the area, it is a must try.

BREAKFAST ALL DAY! Need I say more? Do you like ranch dressing?- they make it homemade! Delicious. Homemade baked goods; Pie, cake, glazed crullers, huge muffins. This is where the locals go. Good food, reasonably priced in a laid back atmosphere- come as you are, shirt and shoes required!

Cruller French Toast, could be the best thing ever. I would not recommend it if you have diabetic issues but if this is how I go I would be cool with that. Portions are on the large side and their home fries are excellent. Not much to look at but the line of locals speaks to the quality.

Always a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Great food. And non judgemental if you have just been released from DHMC and are in your pjs. Just like a homemade meal, depending on what you order. Soul warming food. Good coffee too.

The portion size is really good. Theyve nailed that. The food quality is kind of hit or miss. It depends on the time of day. The prices....no so good. One word....expensive for a truck stop.

Found it thanks to social media. Had a great lunch. ..club sandwich, fries with a side of turkey gravy and coffee. BF had a double burger on a sub roll with grilled onions. Highly recommend.
