Awesome ! Never wrote a review on any place ! The service was 5 stars. The waitress settled us in at our table and promptly took our drink order while we looked over the menus. Our diet sodas came quickly and she proceed to take our orders. We both ordered the fried clam platter. The waitress came back and informed us there was only enough for one and apologized. My wife re ordered a wrap and I got the fried clams. Now I know why they were out of clams. They were incredible ! Melt in your mouth fresh. And my wifes wrap was so large she had to take half home. I can hardly wait to go back and try another dish. Happy happy ! Great food at great prices. Chuck M Chester, CT

Been going to Chariles Restaurant for some time Usually sit at the bar or in the lounge area Food in the past has always been plentiful and good We love the Fish and Chips and many sandwiches Several times we ordered the hot lobster roll, 2 sizes available Usually a decent size for the price On a recent Saturday we sat in the dining room My wife ordered a lobster roll and I ordered a sandwich What a surprise when my wife received her lobster roll and their were a meager 3 little pieces of lobster about 1-2 ounces We were told lobster prices went up Sad to serve this pathetic excuse for a hot lobster roll This happened in June 2017 and we have not been back since

We were on a long waited, much needed vacation in the Niantic and decided to try Charlies out the first night we got there. It was terrible! The tea was sour, the mozzarella sticks were frozen inside, and the beef toranta was bland and tasted like refrigerator. Our server was absent and we never got our drinks refilled. I do not recommend it to anyone. Avoid, avoid at all cost.

On our first day after moving to Connecticut we ate there. We have eaten there many times since. The food is great, especially their greek selection. Their seafood is fresh and smell free. The service is nice, and the location is spot on. Its a perfect dinner experience. Give it a try if you are looking for a quick meal.

Ordered prime rib medium rare came medium well, it was tough and dry.onion rings that were soggy and greasy . Also ordered fishermans platter. Clam strips same as onion rings. The haddock was done beautifully as were the scallops. Multiple tables seated after us were served before us including a table of 6.

You can always count on a consistent meal at Charlies... Certainly not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination but consistent good comfort food... Today the black bean quesadilla, salad and Reuben hit the spot. Just right for a late afternoon lunch... Service is always good too.

Been going to this guys place since the 90s. He had a smaller place, but then moved to this new location for more seating. The food is always good and quality. Dont miss out if you are in Niantic. It is also across the street from a great bookstore.
