Gum Drops & Lollipops - Niantic, CT - 5/31/2015 Whenever Im in the mood for ice cream or candy, this is the first place that pops into my mind. Talk about a family fun wholesome place! Locally owned and operated this place is a throw back to a distant past. Decorated like an old time ice cream shop and the people are super friendly! They have an incredible selection of candy and its one of the places that carries Rum Raisin Ice Cream (my fave). I usually get a hard ice cream vanilla malted milk shake. So if youre looking to take the family out for an awesome after dinner treat, go to Gumdrops and Lollipops in Niantic! You will love it. P.S. They serve other foods for lunch and dinner as well...

They were extremely rude. We walked from McCooks Point, with a 1 year old, is 90 degree heat, for an ice cream amd their outdoor service wasnt open and they wouldnt allow us in with out bathing suit tops. Too bad our shirts were in the car half a mile away in the blazing heat. YOUR NEXT TO A BEACH! And btw, there were no signs visable on the entrance saying "no swimwear allowed", which is why I WALKED that far in the first place. I find this ridiculous and I will never go there again, to pay too much for an ice cream and i will tell my friends not to either.

Little slow with food clean place May have taken on too much trying to include everything lunch breakfast dinner. Good idea if you can make it work . They do need help like sighn says but what will happen to employees at end of season will work or not . Nice people working here. Says food takes between 15 and 20 minutes. Like all summer places can they handle it. Little price y breakfast should be served longer 5 people when I got in asked for same thing 10/4 2016

My initial experience was quite good and I left there pretty satisfied with the food and the service, however when i ordered a soup today which I couldnt eat, because it was really disgusting -the manager didnt even agree to change it with something else. There are enough places offering similar food choices only 5-7 min walking distance from this one, next time I will go to one of these places...

My kids love the old fashion candy there, they also have great ice cream and good food. The appeal of the place is the old-fashioned feel, it feels like you stepped into 1950 period and its nestled in downtown Niantic with a short walk to Hole In The Wall Beach and you can take a walk on the boardwalk along the ocean before or after getting your treat.

Excellent variety of sweets and treats in a delightful atmosphere. They serve a great breakfast, nice lunch. Good people. Good food. Great place. Patio dining is available outdoors as well as having the Olde Time Soda Fountain Shoppe comfort indoors. Super place to grab a homemade ice cream cone and stroll the Niantic Boardwalk.

Awesome little beach ice cream and candy shop. They do soft serve and about two dozen hard ice cream flavors. They also have homemade fudge and candy jars. The style is 50s soda shop and the music goes along with that theme. Great place to stop for a sweet treat before heading to the boardwalk.

A large variety of candy, and now with a classic soda fountain in the back. Ive yet to try the food, but if its as good as the milkshakes, it should be awesome. Candy ranges from bulk candy to some modern individual candy and some classic candy like candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars.

I really enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere was old fashioned and the wide variety of food was great. The fudge was amazing and the price was quite reasonable. The service was quick and the waiters were friendly. Definitely a fun place to go with the kids, or for a little nostalgia.

Nice place right next to hole in the wall beach, the boardwalk and "downtown" Niantic. Food (Burgers, dogs etc.) and candy prices are high side of fair. Tables available inside, on the back deck and front patio. Ice cream prices are ludicrous however - almost $5.00 for a single scoop.

Mmmm. Delicious chocolates. A fun place to bring a child after visiting the Childrens Museum. Its within walking distance of both the Childrens Museum and McCooks Park, so its in an ideal location. Bright and colorful and all bulk candy is the same price so it isnt complicated to shop.

Great place to take kids and the young at heart. Diner food is diner food, and exactly what youd expect. But the choice of candy and ice cream is what really helps this place stand out. Its also a short walk to the boardwalk and the beach. A definite must if you have a sweet tooth!

Good old time atmosphere with a variety of hard and soft flavors of ice cream. So many choices of fudge, hard and soft candies. Breakfast lunch and dinner served right at the entrance to the Hole in The Wall beach and Niantic Board walk.

The cool thing about this place is that it is more than a candy shop. It is an ice cream shop and a dinner. It is part of both the downtown and beach scene in Niantic. They also sell really good pies.

Not only do they have great ice cream and candy, they serve a delicious breakfast! Just make sure to bring cash to tip the waitstaff, apparently their registers cant add a tip to a credit charge.
