I think at one point Camp may have been 4 star worthy and maybe I have missed that moment. I have been there a handful of times over the years and each time I left feeling confused. How did all of these people give it such great reviews? Is it me? What could lead people to eat mediocre food (I could have made better pasta than what I had last night) and get under par service and still give them a good rating? Lemmings is really the only reason I can come up with. My companion ordered the bolognese, I ordered the fettuccini. He was decently satisfied, I was not. I basically got a plate of pasta covered in olive oil with some wonderfully cleaned up shrimp (I love when they take the tails off!). The server was pretty much MIA the entire time. The wait for our plates to be removed at the end of the meal was almost painful. It was a solid 20 minutes. She even asked if we wanted boxes, after we said no she just walked off leaving them there. We had to flag her down to order another beverage, and I dont actually believe she ever asked how our food was. All 3 tables next to us seem to experience the same level of service from her. However the table next to us did receive quite a bit of personal attention from one of the chefs who was chatting them up every chance he got (boyfriend, roommate, potential boyfriend?). He was definitely hoping for a little something something after the ladies finished. *wink, wink*. This was the last chance for Campo in my world. I had heard that perhaps the owner was spreading himself thin and I think that must true. I hope he finds a balance before others start to see this place for what it is. Overrated and underwhelming.

I have been coming to Campo since it has opened (I am a local). Sadly, since the owner sold the place I have noticed a decrease in quality and in increase in cost. Once upon a time the beer menu featured unique micro brews. Now it has a $6 Budweiser on it. They are beginning to over sauce and over sweeten the meals to a point where I no longer enjoy the flavors of some of my once favorite dishes. The final straw was when (for the 2nd time) I was completely disappointed by my favorite dessert the Caramel Budino- a staple at Campo. I ordered it at my last visit in August - the pudding was runny, and bland; the cookie crumble- mushy and the salted caramel overtly sweet. I ordered it again last week and this time they drowned the dessert in caramel to the point where i had to spoon most of it out to even finish the dish; this time the custard was lumpy, runny and bland and cookie crumble bottom was bland and mushy. After paying our (almost) $80 tab for a burger, pasta dish, kale salad, italian soda and 2 budinos we decided Campo had run its course and perhaps it was time to move on. The food is still decent, but not at the new increased (and continually increasing) price they are selling now. I gave it 2 stars because the atmosphere, location and staff are absolutely wonderful and make the experience pleasant. Goodbye Campo, I will remember you are you were.

Great location right on the river and the outside patio is spacious and comfortable. Our server was incredible- knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. I would say the best part of the experience was the berry-cucumber soda cocktail- refreshing and well-balanced, not too sweet. The food left something to be desired. My guest and I ordered the New York Strip with truffle butter and the Orecchiette pasta and both dishes were incredibly under-seasoned to the point that I wished there was salt and pepper at the table. Very disappointing considering that the restaurant boasts local ingredients and handmade pasta. I would return for the atmosphere and cocktails alone, and definitely try different dishes from their extensive menu.

Its alright; tried it with my mom for her birthday. Im not particularly sure what the rave is all about. Our server was nice and he did a good job, but it took a while to get our drinks, dinner and dessert (pretty much everything), and it wasnt exactly hoppin for a Sunday night. The food (got the pork plate as one dish and the spaghetti & mb as another; pretty meh) was alright and I know Mojitos arent supposed to be as strong as Margaritas, but there was like next-to-no alcohol in it.; I would not go here to try particularly exciting food; it was a like an Outback by the river. Altogether, kind of dissappointing; you can go for the downtown by-the-river feel, but the food was meh.

Campo is a great restaurant. It is a sister restaurant to the one in Mammoth Lakes and they are very similar. The food is very good and the service if friendly. They make one of the best kale salads I have had, and a great hamburger in addition to their classic Italian dishes. It is usually busy here but they have ample bar, deck, and indoor seating. I would recommend making a reservation which can be easily done online. We have always had good experiences at Campo and recommend going to anyone in Mammoth or Reno looking for a good meal. It is not to fancy nor is it too expensive (for what it is). Its just right for a casual meal out.

Good quality food, and its mostly local. There is a lot of pork on the menu... and almost no healthy, or vegetarian choices available. Great place for a small bite before or after drinks, and they use VPN flour for their pizza. Ive been here many times and despite a menu that is updated often, I find it is often difficult to eat a balanced meal here-- everything on the menu can become too over-powering. Despite few healthy options, they do use quality ingredients, and that keeps me going back. I reluctantly rate the menu/food/taste as 3 star, but the atmosphere and a few items (pizzas, desserts) are lovely and not to be ignored.

Very bad experience. I got the special poultry dish (27$) and it took them 40 minutes to prepare it, when it arrived it was too salty and the "locally sourced" vegetables totally overcooked with no flavor left. No good chef would approve taking to the table a dish like the one I was served. The bread they brought to the table was inedible. I got a pineapple mojito as my first drink and it had a strange flavor, I couldnt really taste what was the problem, bad rum...? It was not refreshing at all. The only good thing was the Pinot Noire wine (15$ by the glass). Service too slow so didnt order a dessert at the end.

Definitely the most hyped restaurant I can remember in Reno. Rightfully so, Campo is a solid eatery in "downtown" Reno with a heavily artisan menu, and a laser-focus on locally sourced meat and produce (with quite a bit from places like Fallon and Yerrington - which is a great idea). The servers were also all very attentive. The problem - the food is just okay. Totally fine, but nothing blew me away. The place is decorated in an overly-"trendy" style straight out of San Francisco, and it makes it a less appealing and sterile experience. Price were also a bit inflated for the quantity on the plates.
