HORRIBLE. This is my first time ever writing a review on google. I went to this restaurant with a party of 10 before prom and the service was horrible, the food was even worse 8/10 people barely had more then two to three bites. They pulled a BAIT and SWITCH by giving all of us the LUNCH menu then at the end charging us for dinner prices, from their DINNER menu. Instead of paying for a $8 plate and a $10 plate which would come out to about $25 with the sales tax and required 18% gratuity for a party of $10 I had to pay $33. I argued with the waitress and she brought the owner out and he told me he could only charge me the prices on the dinner menu even though we were all given Lunch menus when they had over 20+ dinner menus. If we didnt have to go to prom right afterwards I wouldve refused to pay the $33 and only pay for the lunch priced meal. The owner told me to leave his restaurant after telling me repeatedly he could only charge me the dinner prices..

I used to LOVE Strings until I had two bad experiences two weeks apart. First, in December 2011 they took almost 45 minutes to bring my boyfriend and I our meal. I didnt think much of it since we didnt have to be somewhere after dinner. Two weeks later this month, January 2012, we were part of a group of 8. They had 3 cooks in the kitchen and took close to an hour to bring our food. When they brought our food my boyfriends order was wrong. It wasnt until everyone was almost done is when my boyfriend told them to cancel his order. They had it ALMOST ready and decided to put it in a to go box. Of course his meal was free but its not the same as eating with your friends. The manager gave him a coupon for 20% for his next meal. What a waste of time. When your dinner party orders spaghetti and pizza it shouldnt take an hour to get the meals ESPECIALLY when there are 3 cooks in the kitchen. Poor customer service from A to Z.

My family and I have gone here many times. Most of the time weve enjoyed ourselves, but the last time we went we decided to never go there again. Heres why: I think there were only two waitresses there and it took forever for them to even greet us to get our drink orders and even more to get us our food. We actually had to get it all to go because it took so long that we had someplace to be. It was over an hour before we got our food from when we were seated. Then when we got our food, it was terrible. My grandma and mother had the eggplant dish and it was terrible. They had ordered it many times before and I guess they had a new cook that night. I ordered a calzone and had to eat it on the go and only ate about 3 bites. There are so many more good Italian restaurants in Visalia. Go to one of them instead (Rosas, Olive Garden, Little Italy).

Im not an expert but I have never had cioppino with pasta added. I had the cioppino in Jackson up near Ione and it kicked ass! The cioppino at the Visalia Strings sucks ass! Same price only Visalia location adds a bunch of tasteless pasta shells to it! Now if you ask me when you add so many pasta shells to a stew it becomes a PASTA dish not a STEW! Literally no liquid! It was a to go order so I called and they said thats their Cioppino al strings? I guess their Champagne al strings is dog piss? Filet mignon al strings is cat food? Write this location off your list. They told me different locations have different recipes? Never knew a franchise to do that.

This place is great. It is just like one of the restaurants in the movies where you dont have to stand in a buffett line and they got a person that comes right up to your table and brings all the food and drinks and bread. I was a little disapointed that the Soda machine wasnt open for customer use and the pitchers were a little small for a family of twelve. I would highly recommend "All you can eat pasta Wednesdays". They really let you eat as much you can eat. They only other downside is that they wont give you a doggy bag on Pasta Wednesdays. It should be called "All the Pasta you can eat in the 6 hours you are allowed to sit at a table Wednesdays"

Only because I loved the food here in the past Im back To give it one last shot . Ive noticed the last 3 times Ive eaten here , Ive gotten sick for 2-3 days after wards. I thought the first time that maybe it was a coincidence but not after 3 times the same result. First starts with stomach pains about 3-4 hours after I ate . Then a fever and headache . Then boom ! Stuck in the bathroom all night & next day . I woke up my husband @3am with sounds from the bathroom. So lets hope this time is different . Why am I eating here again is because the pasta ALFREDO SAUCE IS THE BEST .

I used to love this place but their service has gone down the toilet. Food takes for....ever.....and we are patient people. If they mess up your order, you might as well leave because it will be another hour before your food comes out. They also didnt honor a coupon I had, I was so mad at that point I just paid for one of the meals that came out on time and left. Will never go back.

Waited for 20 min after being seated did get one of the two drinks we ordered. We were told they would be back wth bread, but never came back. We got up and walked out, I stoped to pay for the drinks. Wait staff didnt have a concern in the world that we were leaving because we got forgotten. Im not coming back......

This place is cute and casual. They have a nice variety... I got the zucchini ribbons with salmon.. It was super! Also, I have used Groupon here without issue. They have a lot of specials like Monday kids eat free and all you can eat pasta on Wednesday for about$8.50 if I remember correctly...

Food is awesome but service is lacking. They werent too attentive; I had to get their attention every time I needed something. Most of the time they were talking amongst themselves instead of checking on their guests. Prices are good, and food is worth putting up with the service.

Best. Consistant. Cheap. Keep it simple great for lunch all you can eat soup or salad. They have the BEST salad. Cant go wrong with their food. Everyone is easy going you sit yourself you tell them when youre ready and I have never had a problem with the food taking to long.

Server was really condescending bc we had a Groupon style coupon for 4 with only 3 people there. The manager let us use it eventually but I would have rather left after the awkwardness we experienced. They do have good food though, so just dont bring a coupon lol

I dont know if i should hate them or thank them. We went for dinner but my wife refused to order anthing other than a salad. I however got pasta and i ended up in the bathroom for the entire next day. (Food poisoning) on the bright side i lost 10 pounds
