Thank you to my beloved husband Brett Sturgeon.....who knows my love of authentic Italian food..... I am very spoiled thanks to growing up practically living with my Italian mother and her amazing family who were all my brothers and sisters. Sadly, since my gastric sleeve surgery not only have I lost any real appetite...but can also only eat very small portions...like less than a cup of food at a time ....yes Ive lost 150 pounds...however actually savoring and enjoying a meal means so much more these days......However it is very difficult to find good authentic Italian food. Olive garden is good...but ...... Truly one of the most authentic Italian meals I have had in a very long time. Chicken parmesan with saffron and marscapone polenta and a bruschetta with pesto, marscapone cheese and cherry tomatoes......OMG....SOOOOO GOOD!!! Of course bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Brett had a filet mignon with caponata vegetables .....amazing meal. Finished with cocoa panna cotta. One of the best meals I have enjoyed in a long time. Cant wait to do it again!!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Reno, and we are locals and have been to all of the best places in town! We had another outstanding lunch with appetizers, cocktails, and great wine. I love the olive appetizers, and their spaghetti here is excellent served with fresh basil on top. The lovely view of Reno is an added bonus, and our server Julio was top notch just as always. He makes the best Margaritas in Reno as well using fresh ingredients. Per my request, La Vechhia brought in Don Julio 1942 Tequila, which goes great in in the handcrafted Margaritas that they make here. They also brought in some Opus One red wine per our request. I have always heard wonderful things about this spot- co-workers love it, friends swear by it, but I would never reccomend it. I went there for a date and both of us could not stop giggling over the GIANT wine glass with 4 oz of wine in it for $10, the GIANT utensils and the GIANT bowl with (literally) 8 raviolis (I counted them). The 8 raviolis were cooked in their "browned butter"sauce and the name says it all. It is actually cooked in butter, thats it, its butter that has been burned enough to tint the raviolis- and it was completely flavorless. Bread was cold, waiter was nice even though he poured olive oil and balsamic into a small bowl so they didnt mix, dessert was okay, and the tab was $65. Worth it?

Good atmosphere, good drinks, and the food wasnt bad but we have honestly had tastier italian at the Olive garden. I had the chix parm which was fine but the sauce was not really a sauce so much as it was diced tomatoes (which were pale i.e. not the best tomatoes). My wife had the linguine seafood which had a lot of seafood, but again the sauce was a little too plain for either of us (it was closer to a broth than a sauce in my humble opinion). The saving grace was the tiramisu, quite tasty and exceeded our expectations somewhat.

Food is wonderful. Service was great. However! Be advised, if you split the check they charge everyone $.50 each, and the menu says 18% gratuity for parties of 8 or more but they charge you 20%. I always pay 20% anyway, but the fact that they say one thing and do another, is bad for business! And our party was 16. Our server was Julio. He was amazing!

Best Italian in Reno. The new location on Skyline has tremendous views, the atmosphere friendly and comfortable, and the staff did so much to make our experience a pleasurable one. The Pumpkin Raviolis are a must, as well as the spinach and pear salad. La Vecchia is now at the top of our "where do you want to eat tonight?" list!

My fiance and I went to La Vecchia for our anniversary, and though the dress code was less enforced than we would have liked (people sitting a few tables over in t-shirts and jeans), the food was amazing, the server was nice and funny, and restaurant was beautiful!

My special entree last night was not good - risotto was under seasoned and the veal shank was inedible. First time I tried this restaurant - probably will not return. The manager (young woman, long dark hair) shouldnt be in the business....

When my wife and I showed up for our reservation the place was closed and undergoing painting and renovations. When I made the reservation I gave my phone number to the guy, but nobody bothered to call and let us know they would be closed.

I have food poisoning from there twice, no fooling, but the soup was real good on several occasions. I dont go there anymore so due to the second food problem I had.
