After a long day of moving my daughter into her dorm I went looking for an Italian Restaurant so I can relax and have a good meal. Came upon Marios and looking at high the reviews were I figured I would give it a try. Now I am usually not the kind of person that feels uncomfortable walking into a restaurant, but the looks and the staring I was getting from the patrons made me feel a little uncomfortable. I decided to pay it no mind and go about having dinner. So things started off well with the waitress, got my ice tea and water, I ordered my appetizer (Calamari- I have had larger calamari for the same price with the same quantity. Not worth $10) and my dinner (Fettuccine Ai Frutti Di Mare). Here is when it all went bad. I waited 15 to 20 min for the waitress to come by and ask if I wanted bread, when delivered it was not warm and then I waited at least another 20min for my dinner meanwhile still having patrons look at me weird. Once I received my dinner it was hot (still not keen on the waiting time). The waitress did the best she could to keep my situation from getting out of control. The excuse was that there was a big party that needed to be served and she tried to get my order out before the large table. One would think that if you have a restaurant that seats around 100 to 150 patrons you would have the staff in the kitchen to manage that volume and be able serve your patrons in a timely manor. Now if I was in a big hurry I would have given less stars, but the main course was very good and the dessert was very good as well. Not sure I would go back when I am up here again just due to how the local patrons made me feel when I was there. I may try other places first.

Having lunch with a co-worker, I knew Marios Portofino would be the perfect place. Its quiet at lunch time, the food is always good. The service is polite, aware youre on a lunch hour, but not pushing you out the door. The artichoke and cream of mushroom soups are a the best Ive ever had. The appetizer list has many favorites, mine being the bruschetta. So fresh, totally delicious. All the entrées are prepared perfectly. The Dessert list; Tiramisu, Gelato, good old fashioned Spinoni, no losers here.

This has become a very mediocre restaurant. The food doesnt taste fresh or well prepared. The 2 stars are for the servers which were friendly but a little disorganized and slow. The decor is dated, the food overpriced and unremarkable. Maybe they should reduce the size and selection of the menu and concentrate on making quality Italian dishes using fresh ingredients instead of trying to offer so many dishes, none done very well.

It was really busy due to Hot August Nights so we sat at the bar and ordered dinner. Bartender was friendly and provided good service. Food took awhile to come out and then was not as flavorful as Id hoped. Carbonara was very bland. Ill give them.another shot but this was not a great experience, Im hoping because of how busy they were.

Our favorite Reno restaurant. Weve been eating at Marios for 10 years starting with their old location. They make us feel like family. The food is terrific and all the staff are warm and friendly. And their gluten free pasta is house made and the best Ive had!

Mmmmm Lots of choices for authentic Italian fare. Delicious. Service is welcoming, cheerful and timely. My new neighborhood BFF. P.S Sometimes they offer a golden creamy heart of artichoke soup.. it truly is awesome

The lunch specials are so reasonably priced with such quality everyone in our office eats here at least once a week if not more. The cheesecake is also the best I have ever tasted!

My new favorite restaurant in Reno. I had baked manicotti and my husband had veal parmesan-fantastic food! They make their own pasta and dishes are fresh and perfectly prepared.

Special of day was like eating ingredients from a can. Canned mushrooms and sauce was bland considering it was puttenesca. Pasta was cooked beyond al dente.
