I ordered on a Saturday between 4 and 5 pm. There was only 1 person taking orders, answering phone order, and waiting tables. I was interrupted twice by the phone while I was placing my order. Of course I could not hear the person pacing their order over the phone, but the employee seemed rude, did not speak English well. I did not wait long for my food and it was served hot and was packaged well (to-go order). You do not have to worry about this spilling out or dumping in your car-it is packaged securely. This was hands-down the worst Chinese take out I have ever had. I ordered Cashew Chicken which tasted like it was fried in old oil, there were maybe 5 tiny cashews (no kidding, that may even be a generous estimate), and there were no green onions at all. The gravy is very different than others Ive ordered, it was very dark colored and strong tasting. It didnt taste bad, just not like Cashew Chicken. It was a generous amount of meat, but very little rice in ratio. The General Chicken I ordered tasted like ketchup with black pepper, the sauce was thick-almost a jelly-like substance. General Chicken should be a little hot (spicy) but this was not. The rice tasted like it was fried in used oil and was greasy. The meat was tough. SO bad, we had to throw it away. The egg roll was stuffed with shredded cabbage-thats it. It had little flavor and was greasy. The prices are higher than other Chinese restaurants in the area. Will not order there again. Ill keep going to Hong Kong Inn on the corner of northeast Kansas and Kearney, way better food and cheaper prices!

I will try to be nice and fair in this review...I arrived around 7:00PM and there were total of five people in two booths. The other two booths had not been bused and all that was left were tables for eight people. I really can sympathize with people of other nationalities learning english. However...dont get upset at ME when YOU are the one that is unintelligible! For some reason my CC wouldnt work in their machine (it works perfectly everywhere else) so they had to punch it in. The wait for my carry-out order was relatively short - five to ten minutes. When I got in my truck, I checked to see if everything was there...no fork. I trudge back inside and ask for a fork...no apology...no "sorry"...justafork shoved at me. The Food - Evidently since it was toward the end of the day I got to enjoy the flavors of all the food that had been fried in the grease with my cashew chicken. Same with the fried rice...a conglomeration of flavors...like we used to make "Suicides" at the coke fountains-all flavors mixed together. The only positive thing about my (last) visit was the price...I didnt lose a lot of money by trashing the meal. Give rave reviews all you want, Ill spend the time and go to Ozark to the the Hong Kong Inn. More reason not to visit this train wreck...I was just looking over my monthly receipts and guess what?...They put my FULL credit card number on the receipt! Which is illegal! I am now getting a new CC, courtesy of New China!! Sheesh!

I have eaten at this restaurant for years. The food is great and I have never experienced an issue. Today, while I was eating my chicken, I bit down on a screw. It was fried into my chicken. It was relatively unpleasant, but I wasnt all that upset until I attempted to get a refund. I tried to contact them by phone but I was hung up on 3 times. Finally, someone called me back. Reluctantly, I was told they would refund my money if I returned the food. I returned to the restaurant and brought back all of the food I had ordered. They were extremely rude and difficult to work with. They tried to say I had eaten too much of my food for them to give me a refund. They even tried to sneak around and throw away the fried rice I had with my order so they could say I didnt bring back all of my food so they couldnt give me a refund. Finally after 45 minutes they refunded the money to my card but did not include tax. This is the worst food service experience I have every had. The food at New China is great, but the customer service is complete and total garbage.

They gave me two weeks old Tea and the sesame chicken was disgusting I do not even know what was wrong with it, it was so nasty and left a bad taste in my mouth. The food presentation looked nixe and good but appearances are deceiving. Saddest part is that they even found a way to make the eggroll nasty. The cabbage was tough and it also left a mop water taste in ur mouth after every bite. Im a truck driver so for me to be disappointed you know the food had to be terrible. Funniest part is my fortune cookie, it reads: No job is so simple that it cannot be done wrong. Truth!!!!

I never write reviews, but I felt I had too when I noticed people giving this place a bad rap. This is some of the best Chinese food in Springfield. My friends and I have been hardcore fans since they first opened their doors. The fried rice is amazing and the Crab Rangoon is unbeatable. I always order the Tso General Chicken, and its one of the best. I will admit, the Tso General Chicken sauce tastes a little strong and its not as spicy as I prefer, but it is still very good. In my opinion, the one runner up to this restaurant would be Happy China, which is across town.

I have lived in springfield for 6 months and haven't found any good chinese. My favorite thing is crab ragoon so of course I was very excited to read the rest of the reviews on here. I ordered a half order to try them out and they didn't even give me my ragoon. I went back in and asked for it and they tried charging me again. They lost me as a customer on their first try. Good job new china, try speaking a little more english, at least enough to take a damn order.

Very rude workers. They give dirty looks to their customers and refuse to refund money. I was given dried, brownish chicken wings that were burnt to a crisp. When I wanted a refund, the clerk refused. They treat their American customers like pure garbage and stare at you while youre waiting for food. They lost my business!
