This is one of the best pan-Asian restaurants in the Northland and a fantastic treasure at 64th Street and I-29 (just take a left at Chatham off the highway). My wife and I have had many of the appetizers and entrees. All are above average, but my favorites appetizers are the steamed dumplings (not just chicken), calamari (crispy) and lettuce wraps (crispy and sweet!). Two of the best entrees are the Panang Curry and the traditional Sichuan Chili. We have other favorites. Owner Zen will steer you to your preference. Our vegetarian friend raved about the Moo Shu tofu. Truth is, the entrees are fine recipes and many offer a lot of healthy vegetable choices and some with none if that is your preference. None are overly salty or seasoned, these recipes are well balanced. Sashimi is fresh - I recommend Jalapeno Yellow-tail, but there are many rolls to choose from. Sashimi or sushi combos are a good bargain. There are many rolls to choose from. You will not be disappointed.

I would rate Saki with zero stars if I could. My boyfriend and I have been here several times and quite enjoyed the experience, however the past two times we have dined here we have found plastic/foreign objects in our food. Today, August 8, 2016 @ 1900 we found a plastic casing that we presume was on the crab in the sushi roll. Unfortunately, I believe we likely ate some. Upon telling our server, he apologized and offered another roll. We declined due to a loss of appetite. We figured the server, whom is the manager, would comp the roll but he just took $6 off our bill. We were greatly disappointed and wont return. Sadly the prior time that we received plastic in our food, the server was the same man. I know we should have learned our lesson but we were trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. The server/manager did nothing to try and keep our business or make the situation right. Avoid this place if you dont like to eat plastic.

Went in on a whim not expecting much, but these guys are awesome. We had several sushi dishes and a noodle dish. Everything was great. Ill dare say the sushi was as good as Drunkenfish or Nara downtown. They even made a little sushi penguin for our little one. The little guy was having an uncharacteristically bad evening, but the staff was so great and helpful. Super friendly and went out of their way to make our experience great. Definitely worth the visit if you are looking for a place for sushi in the northland. The noodle dish was great too. They had a nice selection of thai and chinese dishes that may be worth a return visit....

This hidden gem can be accessed through the McDonalds entrance southwest of I-29 & NW 64th St in Kansas City. On its entry road, drive past McDonalds until you see Ihop, then turn left at the yellow building (sign is on the front). Saki Asian Restaurant serves sushi, tempura, hibachi-grilled & popular Chinese entrees, deliciously prepared to order. The seating is roomy & comfortable, and the ambience is conducive to meaningful conversations. Dont miss this fantastic Asian restaurant, as it is well worth the finding! Prices range from reasonable to slightly expensive, if you love sushi.

Excellent Vietnamese Spring Rolls! Worth the visit just for them. Chicken Satay and Panang Curry were to die for. Excellent traditional Asian music. Lunch prices were really good, with an average lunch around $15 I would guess. This location is slightly difficult to get to, but worth the effort for great food. Update: Been coming here for a few weeks. The menu is still fresh and the food is always prepared perfectly. The sushi tastes great and portions are generous. I highly recommend this restaurant and encourage everyone to patronize this place!

Saki is a hidden gem in the northland! Its by far the best sushi Ive ever had. The spicy crab salad is also very delicious and addictive. I have to limit how often I go here because I can never make up my mind and always order too much food and a chunk of my paycheck! The food is all very attractively presented and tastes as good as it looks. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice ambiance and the staff is friendly. We wouldnt go anywhere else!

Absolutely loved the food and the service! From out of town and was only looking for Asian food on our route elsewhere and randomly found this place so I didnt have any expectations. The environment was very calming and the portions were large and well priced. The service was efficient and quick as well. I also enjoyed the background music that was playing in the dining area. I have absolutely nothing negative to say! Such a great experience.

My wife and I are frequent diners at Saki Asian Restaurant, have been since they opened 3 years ago. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. The servers are always attentive and good for an idea of something new to try. Anything from the menu and even special sushi rolls are worth coming in for. Zhen the owner is attentive and cares deeply about his customers. I cant say enough good things about this restaurant.

Food was marginally okay and service was reasonably friendly but advertised as hibachi, which was what we wanted, traditional hibachi, but that was not what they offered. The hibachi section of the menu was all made in back, in the kitchen and brought to the table, no hibachi experience but definitely hibachi prices! The food all just tasted like plain old stir fry drenched in teriyaki sauce. Very disappointing.

I was disappointed at the beginning because we were expecting to watch the show of them cooking it but it wasnt that way. The soup was good, but no noodles in it, just broth. We both go steak and chicken with fried rice, it all tasted good but the portion size compared to other places was very small. We usually have left overs but barely enough to get full here.

Great food and service everytime! This has become our favorite sushi place in town. Have never had a dish I didnt love. I feel comfortable enough here to branch out and try different types of sushi than I normally would. The service is always right on top of everything as well. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Saki is the best sushi in town, and I eat a lot of sushi. Nari and Zen have made this restaurant a experience with artful presentation of the sushi with wooden boats and lightimg. And then you taste the freshness of it all and wow! you order more! Try their spicy crab salad and seafood soup!

I made a To go order. Which was one order of beef pho. The herbs were rottin and old. The lines were brown and the beef proportion was barely enough for half of the broth. So they added tofu to make up for the proportion which I did not order not like. The broth had a distinct smell. Gross

Service varies, you get some staff that are super attentive and others walk off and its a while before they return. Also, be sure to check your ticket we have been several times I look over my bill and they have over charged for something. Food is good though.
