Awesome restaurant. Real authentic Chinese food. I believe it was of Taiwanese style. The sesame cake is there "specialty" item that needs an hour to make. It the american equivalent of fresh baked appetizer bread. Call ahead if you want it but I would recommend ordering if you have a large group as it can easily feed a family. As far as food, everything seems made to order and very fresh. It has a very hole in the wall feel to it with only husband and wife running the establishment. Decor is not much but authentic to their Taiwanese roots. Prices are very reasonable for how fresh the food was. I have tried their crispy prawns, leek lamb, and stewed beef. All was very good. They also let you request no msg if you dont like it. Highly recommend.

My favorite restaurant in Dallas by far!! I have yet to have a dish on the menu that I did not like..People are getting this place confused for First Chinese BBQ (which is just down the street and has amazing Chinese BBQ), but this place has great food...and a style and flavor that surpasses many places in Shanghai/Beijing! Their Sesame/scallion bread (zi ma da bing) takes 45 minutes to bake but is definitely worth the wait (I usually call in advance to order it) I introduced my friends family to this restaurant years ago, and they now visit it on average of at least once a week...sometimes even THREE!! A MUST EAT!!

A hole in the wall place but definitely worth my time and money. The food was fresh. The service was good. I was in and out. Not big in size but overall a great place to get a quick bite to go or dine in. I had the Chicken in Garlic sauce. It could of used more garlic but would definitely order it again. The best part of this visit was the foil sheet they placed in my to go box and served the food over that. It has been known that hot foot directly placed on Styrofoam will contaminate the food and can cause cancer . The foil sheet prevents the food from making contact. Thank you for your service.

Reading the reviews here I had to try it! I am a big chinese food fan and I like my food just right! I have to say I have NEVER had hinese food made so well without special instructions. Spicy dishes had an actual kick to them. Flavors were crisp and distinguishable! I just cannot believe HOW good the food was! IT even reheats well! YES I tried :D The first chinese food that I licked my plate on! Starred on google and I have finally found it ... my favorite chinese food in DFW.. it only took 9 years! :D

Love this little place! This is our second visit and every thing weve tried has been terrific! Today I tried the Mongolian beef on the lunch special. It was tender and crisp at the same time! The brown sauce with onion and scallions was delish! Lunches come with hot and sour soup which was served piping hot and tasted great. I finished my bowl and could have eaten more! DH had Kung Pao shrimp and the shrimp were perfectly cooked but the sauce could have been a bit spicier for his taste.

Was not as good as advertised, food was decent and I may go back, but there are many better Chinese restaurants in the area. I got the Twice Cooked Pork, which the menu indicated as spicy, but it was more sweet than it was spicy. One of the Guys that came with me got Kung Pow, and it was average. The other guy that was with me got the Salt and Pepper Shrimp, and it was good, no complaints there. Overall, not bad, but nothing special.

The freshest, most delicious Chinese food I have ever eaten. We eat here at least once a week. Try the fried fish (with sauce or with jalapeños and garlic); the mustard greens w tofu; the sesame cakes; the fried pork chops with jalapeños; the Chinese broccoli; any of the soups. My advice is to look at the food people are ordering around you and ask for whatever looks good. Get outside of your comfort zone and be amazed!

Earlier reviews describe mom n pop shop. It was like home cooking to me. Established 1998. Modest settings, modest prices. Forewarn: the sesame bread with green onions (not pancake) is baked to order, so expect an hour for piping hot, fresh bread. The Westlake Beef soup is simple heartwarming food. I will visit more for their other dishes. OMG Orange Chicken so crispy & lite! Sizzling Bean Curd healthy yet tasty

Everytime we go it is great food. I have never had to send anything back and that is saying a lot. My husband loves the pork belly and I love the General Tsos chicken. Today we tried a Chinese onion pancake and I was so pleased with the taste. It was really good. We will definitely be back. We have been here several times and have never had a bad experience.

Came after 2:00 on a weekday, and had quick service, and wonderful, reasonable food. #14 was green vegetables in a salty clear broth over rice with bean curd slivers. Very healthy and surprisingly tasty! My lunch partner had sliced pork and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sorry we forgot the pictures before we made a bit of a mess out of our dishes! :-0

Ive never left a review of anywhere Ive ever been but this place was amazing! Super tender chicken with great service. I cant figure out how this place was totally dead with us being the only people in there. This place is well worth it! I will be telling everyone I know about this place and will return when I come back into town.

The wait for our food felt a bit long, likely because the restaurant is understaffed. There is only one waitress. Food tastes pretty good, however the sizzling steak that we ordered was a bit too salty and was not actually sizzling when it came to our table as it says on the menu. Overall, the food and service here is decent.

At first glance from outside, this place can easily be passed over or written off as run down. Looks can be deceiving! I arrived at noon on a weekday, was greeted with Hot and Sour Soup, and ordered Kung Pao Chicken. I received my food very quickly, and the portions were big! It was really tasty.

I think all the good reviews are from friends of the owner or people who work there. I live right down the street and never see anyone there. Like someone else posted, this place isnt bad but it definitely doesnt deserve as many stars as it has.

The place is another perfect example of a "Dont judge a book by its cover". The place was deserted the day we went, but wow! Food was fantastic. The egrolls are freshly made and taste great! Food was just as good. Highly recommend it.

This is the best Chinese food in Dallas. The restaurant isnt fancy, but the food is great. Literally a "Mom and Pop" restaurant ran by a husband and wife. He cooks, she serves. Great selection and very reasonable prices.

Doesnt look like much, but the food and service are excellent. Dont be turned off by the peeling wallpaper and small dining room. The Kung Pao beef, Szechuan beef, and hot and sour soup were some of the best Ive ever had.

Extremely tasty kung pao chicken (house specialty) and fish filets with bean curd in garlic sauce. They arent stingy with the sauces which are rich and flavorful. Comes with a bowl of white rice to soak up those sauces.
