This place is not worth the hassle. We had two different papers for our table and I specifically told the waitress that this paper is the ordee for my daughter and I and the othwr paper is theres. Needless to say all of our food came out mixed together. The waitress clearly didnt know whuch sushi was which because half way through the plates I asked her did we have more coming and she said yes. She brought out two more plates of food and said that was all. I advised her that I ordered 10 rolls and only received 5. She told me that the other rolls were on the table and attempted to decipher which ones they were again. Mind you we asked her which rolls were which as she put them down. She decided to bring ua our tickets and I told her which ones I had received. She then webt to the back and came back and said that all of the rolls were brought out. Od corse by that time the other side of table had eaten what they believed to be theirs. I asked for a manager and they attempted to make it our fault and told me that we shouldve communicated better. I told them that the reason foe rhe two tixkets was to place two seperate orders and not to have all of rhe food merged together; furthermore I have a Masters in Communication, so I doubt if that was the issue. They took a measly $11.00 off of my bil which still brought me to $74.00 for 5 rolls. The building was hot and as mentioned by others tables were left dirty by previous customers. Ill stick to Mint Sushi in Lees Summit.

A group of 6 of us went to eat here last Friday night (12/02/16). When we were sat down, the restaurant was maybe a third full, and never exceeded that number of capacity. Long story short, the only thing that saved us from walking out was the quality of the food. It took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks, and over an hour and a half to start getting our food. The wait staff there was not even busy, and had but a few tables that each one of them had to watch. The tables that the customers left during our stay were left dirty -- no one bothered or attempted to clean them up. Our server only showed up to our table when she wanted to it seemed, as our table was left dirty as well. When the chef finally came, he apologized to us, cooked us some great food, and kept the saki coming to our table. While we were thankful for the food and saki (and tipped the chef appropriately), we were very disappointed in the rest of the service. We left a tip that reflected this, and when the person in our party checked his previous billing statement, the tip that we left vs. what was actually charged was completely different - Moonlight charged us more than what was left. Overall, very disappointed with this place. The only reason they get one star is because the food and chef were good. Wont be going here again anytime soon, if at all.

This is my favorite sushi place in KCMO so far. They have just about everything and their house salad is great! They have the basic rolls and nigiri for those who dont like a lot of extras, but they also have a variety of other things without getting too crazy! My favorite rolls are the Mango Tuna, Monkey Roll, and Moonlight Roll. The only downside to this place is that it is so far north! Sometimes they can have slow service, but it is worth the wait. Usually when they are having a slow day it is because the sushi chefs are either new or overwhelmed, so be patient! There are a lot of reasons for slow service. But if you go regularly/frequently, they will remember you! For about 4 months straight, the person I was dating would take me there a couple times a month. We ordered the Monkey Roll every time, and we noticed after the first couple times that the 8-piece roll turned into a 12-piece. They take care of their customers that take care of them! If you can make it for lunch, then do it! They have an awesome lunch menu (~$8 for a salad or soup with 2 rolls). Dinner can get expensive depending on what you get, but still not as bad as other places downtown for the amount you get.

Our family has been eating at this restaurant for a number of years because the food is always top quality. Since we go there for the food above other things we keep returning because it is predictably excellent. It is never packed, is quite for a small or large group, has a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, they have had difficulty attracting and retaining quality servers. Last week we ate there and had an excellent server named "Ana"who works most everyday or evening. We learned that they recently added more staff so you should see an improvement. I do agree that the restaurant would benefit by some professional steam cleaning to eliminate the odor from the cooking food which has seeped into the carpet and seating. This would also remove the stickiness from the tables. Despite these things, we have no concerns about food safety and will continue to return.

Terrible experience. Walked in at 1:05 and did not receive our food until after two (restaurant was not even at 50% capacity and it is Valentines Day so I naturally expect that they would know to staff properly). Waitress didnt bother to check on us until 5 minutes before our food was delivered. When the food finally was received we were missing items (we had to leave the table to find them and alert them). Thus had to wait even longer. The only fast experience was her returning the bill, as we didnt even let her put the receipt on the table so she immediate had to process it. I eat sushi weekly and always tip both wait staff and chefs separately but didnt even feel justified leaving the 10% tip I did leave today. Would not recommend/return.

Tried a few of the chef specials, if you have a thing for spicy and/or sriracha try the volcano roll. Its a cooked roll with chopped fish mounded on top. just got it for the first time tonight and loved it. If you want to be a little adventurous try the sweet shrimp sashimi, a little pricey but the flavor is totally worth it ! Ive also noticed that server here can be a little slow compared to downtown KC, but I have also noticed that the quality here is better, my rolls dont fall apart, its not loud and crowded, its relaxing and a great place to take a date when you want have a drink and a bit of conversation beforehand :)

WORST SERVICE EVER! The servers have NO manners or etiquette, the food is over priced and NOT good. My husband is not a fan of sushi but I love it, so he chose a non-sushi option the chicken & steak hibachi, the steak was overcooked with no flavor, the vegetables were uncooked and looked old & dry, when I mentioned this to the server she simply walked away without saying a word. This was a date night for us and was suppose to be special, it turned into a nightmare, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone nor will I EVER return.
