With only one other family dining in the restaurant my girlfriend and I sat down to eat a valentines dinner together. The waiter eventually brought us our menus and took our drink orders. He returned with one beverage, mine, and asked my girlfriend what she wanted to drink for a second time. He left and eventually after five to ten minutes returned with her drink after I had to signal him to remind him. He took our order and the night continued to get worse. Two tables and a group had been seated by this time and our order came out with the appetizer and burgers together... but my girlfriends burger didnt come out. So we wait... and wait.. and wait.. til the guy finally comes around and asks whats wrong. I told him the burger and hotdog he brought was mine and we needed her pesto gyro burger. He went back to get it only to return to tell my girlfriend "there isnt any more thats why it never came out. Did you want something else?" He hands her a menu and proceeds to take other orders around the restaurant. After fifteen minutes my food was cold and hers still wasnt on the way. At this point I look forward to this place closing as they do not reflect the quality of business the other shops on 39th street strive to achieve. Do not recommend. Will never return.

Update... Last time we ate here I rated it w/ 2 stars. Tried it again tonight. What a difference... worth 5 stars. 2 of us had burgers which were great; good size & cooked perfectly. 2 of us had dogs; also really good. We will definitely go back as we really enjoy the food. Our server Katie was excellent... checked on us several times & was very attentive to refilling our drinks. Definitely worth trying when youre in the mood for a burger or dog! Ate there last night for the second time. Didnt rate it the first time but would have given it 5 stars. Thick juicy burgers were cooked to perfection. Last night was a different story... like a totally different restaurant. Went there w/ 2 friends (first time for them). They all had burgers which were thin, small, and overcooked. We commented to the server that they were much smaller than the first time wed eaten there & she said shed tell the cook. We noticed the people around us had thick burgers that fit the bun... like wed had the previous time. Their consistency leaves a lot to be desired. I had the spicy Philly steak. It tasted good except it was VERY salty. Wont order it again... not sure well go back.

Staff was awesome! They are the reason we will return to try other menu items. They went above and beyond for us. My son got a lot of attention from them also. They were truly some of the best servers we have ever dealt with. I got a Mushroom Swiss Burger, my husband got a Bleu Cheese Burger and our son got a plain ol hot dog. All came with fries. I really loved the presentation of the burgers coming out on indivual charcoal mini grills and the wait staff then places the patty on the bun in front of you. It was neat. The burgers are huge! The seasoning on the burgers were a bit overwhelming for us. It was almost over powering. I couldnt taste the mushrooms or the swiss and my husband couldnt even taste the bleu cheese. It just wasnt our favorite. The hot dog was amazing though. We will be back to try other menu items like the gyros or phillies.

The new owners are really rude and doesnt seem to care about customers. Went in there about a month ago and ordered 2 philly cheese steaks and was told that it would be 10min. We waited and it was almost 15min and I asked the guy how many minutes longer and he said 5min. 5min passed by and the lady I think was the owner wearing flip flops , said the order is not ready and went to talk to the chiefs and came and told me 5mins longer but it was still over 5min and she didnt even apologies or say thank you. Called and order a gyro burger today and I think it was the same lady. She had an attitude while taking the order and had to repeat myself. She didnt even take my info down like name or anything. I sent my dad to pick up the order she had no idea who ordered it and kept on asking him who who what. Would never go there again.

I didnt start reading the recent reviews until I had already ordered. (My Bad!) Ordered a smoke cheeseburger with Cheddar. Wed night 7PM, clear weather, nobody in the place. The owner never once even looked my direction, socializing on his phone, rather than checking into his business social media reviews.. Get home, and my burger is loaded with everything! Worse of all, the bun is Slathered in Mayo! If I wanted all that crap, I would have asked for it. The seasoned fries had so much salt on them, no way. My dog even spit one out! They may half price most nights of the week to draw suckers in, but only a fool would eat here a 2nd time. This place is not long for the restaurant grave yard.. (99.9% chance the owner never responds to this review, hes too busy on his personal facebook page)

The daily specials is what always gets me to go. A lunch for around $5 is a great deal. The hamburgers are very tasty. They come out on small charcoal cookers to get that great charcoal taste before eating. The Phillys are great too, with the mixture of lamb and beef. This used to be the Jerusalem Cafe, so they know how to fix Gyros. The are good. I tried the Monster hot dog - a hot dog with deep fried cheese stick and chili cheese fries. A heart attach waiting to happen. :-) Ive been going for about 4 years and the service and quantity of food has gone done. Service is slow, the thickness of the hamburger is thinner and they are skimping on the french fries. I will still go, but always wish things would get better.

My brother and I both ordered the Pesto Gyro Burger. I tried mine and could barely swallow it after taking one bite. It tasted extremely salty. Almost as if someone just poured straight salt on top of it. I proceeded to try my brothers to see if his tasted the same. When I tried his, we both agreed how under-flavored it was. The pesto had near to no taste. This place needs to work on their consistency. On a side note, Ive had the danger zone burger many times and its always very delicious. I like this place, especially for their Monday burger deals. It was 50% on certain burgers, but now it is 30% on all burgers.But they do need to work on consistency.

I use to really live this place they would bring your burger out in it own small grill it would be cook so perfectly and lots of those awesome fries on the side how ever management owner or how ever the burgers are not nearly as good they gave me about 5 French fries no silverware it wasnt horrible but it wasnt what I was use .. Oh the old build was riddled with signature autographs and nice drawing and all sorts or artsy things from past customers that was pretty cool I use to enjoy reading the notes,poems and seeing the pictures drawn by others it pretty cool nice vibe THE NEW OWNERS PAINTED OVER IT
