Food and service was great,but was displeased to find out that the waitresses only make $3.60 an hr ,and if paying w credit or debit you have already paid And theres no sign or anything by the cashier to let u know that the waitresses work for tips,so if u dnt have cash on you ,u have to go back to the cashier and wait in line to have a tip added to your card! Tried addressing this matter w the Manager and wasnt taken very serious, as if it wasnt a big concern to her! The waitress we had worked her but off ,I never saw one tip on any table she cleaned off,imagine working that hard for a measly $3.60 an hr and raise a family or pay your bills. While talking w the waitress she explained that they used to have a sign by the cashier, but they took it down for some reason and it has made an impact on their tips! When asking why the sign was removed i got no response! Although the food and service was good,I doubt I will probably dine at any Golden Corral again for the fact that they dont look out for their hard working employees!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Joplin, MO Golden Corral on the date of which they were honoring Veterans with a free dinner. There were hundreds of great Veteran Americans being catered to on this particular visit. They also kindly made room for us too. In order to triage the large crowd, our waitress had to stand on a chair across the room in order for us to see her and get directed to our seat. Now this was not at all the start to a negative experience but quite the opposite! The buffet presented steaks cooked to order, fresh salads & soups, scrumptious pot roast and some deserts to die for! The lines werent even too bad. Our amazing waitress made sure our drinks never got empty and made a point to thank each and every Veteran for their service. I know Golden Corral had to really fork out some bucks for this experience and their wait and support staff knocked or our of the park with their sincerely kind and diligent effort. Thanks alot GC-you really represented the Joplin spirit!!!!

I have been to this restaurant several times. Unfortunately the last 2 were very disappointing. The last time I went was right before the dinner rush and the food left much to be desired. The food was greasy or just too dry. I always start off with a salad bar and it was not very well stocked. I get that it was between meal times, but after 5pm I dont think it was too much to expect it to be well stocked and clean. The entrees were just okay. I got a piece of steak but it was not as medium as I would have liked and I did ask for. The rest of the entrees were just meh. Nothing I wanted to go back for. The desserts were dried out even though I stayed long enough to be there for the beginning of the dinner rush. This trip was no exception though since every time I have tried a cake or pastry they are always dry. I do not plan on returning any time soon due to the last 2 experiences I have had here. Considering the amount of food you get the value is but only if you consider quantity over quality.

TERRIBLE!! Worst experience at a restaurant in a long.time. I tried to go to their website but they were having "technical difficulties" probably because they are afraid what their customers actually have to say about their service. After waiting 20 minutes for a waitress and contacting a manger we got a waitress named Elizabeth. I only know this because I read her name tag. She didnt even say one sentence to us. We had to move our dirty dishes to a clean table to get them out of our way. Not to mention the food was cold and nasty!! I cant believe I even paid for that bad of service. Definitely wont be eating there any time soon.

Food was not fresh. $40 spent and didnt even get a meal. I explained to the "manager" that the food was not fresh. She argued argued with me and said the food had just been changed. There was no way it was fresh. The potatoes looked plastic and was tougher than all get out. I then told her the boneless riblets were really tough. She agreed and said that just how the batch was that they got in. Knowing the "batch is like that", why the heck would you put it out for consumption?! Disgusting. I will never go back to Golden Corral.

$15.40 for on adult buffet and a soda is crazy! Especially because the food quality is not any better then McDonalds! The steak was so full of fat and tough you couldnt even eat it and the fried chicken was over cooked and was so dry you couldnt barely choke it down and Salas bar was filthy and so was the dessert bar! Will not be going back to this place! Tried complaining last night while I was there but I conviently a manager wasnt available! TERRIABLE experience!

I dont hate it just had bad experience tonight. Sat in an area the air was broken wasnt told about it until half way through eating. Was wondering why it was so hot and we were sweating. Had to ask why it was so hot. About 5 minutes later put a sign up closing the area. The point I am so upset is when I sat down they knew it was broke and didnt bother to say something or help to move us

The food is usually awesome. Be prepared with cash for the tip if you are paying with credit card. Excellent selection of meats and fantastic salad bar. Would be nice if a lower price option for vegetarians were offered as prime rib and shrimp and such are likely driving the overall cost, which is a great deal for meat eating but a little pricy for those who dont.

The food at this Golden Coral has been pretty good the three times we have been there. Nice buffet but the service sucks! You have to beg for something to drink! We have ate there 3 times hoping that it would get better! The people that runs this place needs to hiring better waitress! They spend all there time talking! Not taking care of there customers!

the Sunday afternoon floor manager, Bonnie, needs training in how to interact with the public. if managers dont exhibit good skills the entire business will suffer. You can never be rude to your customers and think you are doing a good job reflecting the company desire to provide outstanding hospitality and a pleasurable dinning experience.

Price has gone up, quality still inly fair. Need a self opening or push button door. Also need to install a family style restroom for handicap. I cant very well take my wife into a multistall restroom in her wheelchair. Food is average and prices continue to rise. Having said that, it is still probably the busiest restaurant in Joplin.

We went to Brunch at about 11:15 on a Monday. Everything was so fresh and hot. I started with a bit of Breakfast, but couldnt leave w/out some Beef Pot Roast, and piece of Catfish! They were all cooked perfectly. And our server was so sweet and attentive. Thank you Golden Corral, Joplin, MO.
