Food is good/fair. Big soupy Mexican plate of food often times. A large group of us stopped going after an incident: the server misunderstood my friends order and thought he ordered shrimp as the meat in his burrito when in fact hed ordered beef (there is a ESL problem here yall). He asked that it be fixed. The highlight came when the server then replied "(well) Now we cant re-use this food" - implying that they recycle incorrect food orders and possibly leftover food. Therefore, have some caution when highly praising this restaurant. They have some good food buuut,... When you have too many errors in your partys order, theres a language barrier, and you discover stuff you didnt know about..! Theres a reason they developed the nickname "Los Compost". Try other, smaller, nearby local Mexican restaurants and youll be surprised.

Have eaten there since they opened up, and go there frequently. Wont be back! Got charged for a pop that came with the luncheon meal because they saw my wife take 1 sip of it when she was drinking water (she drank 2 glasses of water) and her meal did not come with a pop. 1 sip does not justify charging $2 for a pop. We told them that was incorrect, but they insisted that they saw her drinking my pop as if it was hers and not mine....... Very disappointed!

Good food. The chips were a little heavy for my liking though the salsa was good & has a mild kick. I was disappointed that they didnt have free queso but it was white queso & still very good. The menu was extensive and all the desert items looked amazing. I was told they have M-Sat lunch specials and Saturday is all day happy hour drinks. I may have to go back sometime. Service was great! Our server Nathan was very passionate about his restaurant.

Very typical, yet yummy, Mexican food and their chips and salsa are to die for. Service is hit or miss at best. They have also slowly remodeled the space including a new tiled floor and it looks great. Really great for take out on game days or lazy nights and the prices are quite reasonable depending on the dish you get.

Im from TX so Im pretty picky bout my Tex-Mex, that said, I liked it. I thought the Carnitas plate was really, really good. Some of the best Mex food Id had here. The Hot sauce is almost perfect, the Mild sauce was sweet and good for the kids. My service was great.

THE BEST IN INDEPENDENCE..very clean, service was excellent, and ppl are very friendly..i would eat their everyday if i could..i looooove mexican food and have been to many mexican restaurants in independence and los compas is by far THE BEST!!

One of the worse place I have been to. The food was extremely salty, the enchilada tasted like I was biting into a chunk of Velveeta cheese. And not to mention poor service to top it off. Maybe I went on a bad day, but was not satisfied at all.

This was the worst Mexican food i have ever ate. The only good thing we had was the chips and salsa. The ground beef was like cheap fake meat. The beans were old and disgusting. I will never eat here again. GROSS!
