Food was okay. We enjoyed that portion of our evening. Unfortunately we were there celebrating a milestone in my fiances life and could barely even get a full sentence out to speak to each other without being interrupted by our server. He was incredibly overbearing, at our table every 30 seconds, and would not stop talking. He even followed us to the door when we were leaving, going on and on and on about the next days brunch specials. At this point, were practically running out of there, trying to get away. We spent $100 and have nothing good to say about our experience. Very disappointing and certainly will not be back.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant a 3 star review, despite its absolutely amazing menu, is because I have never in my life received worse service. We had to ask our waiter for everything: bread, water refills, silverware (my dessert was melting while I had to go hunt for some silverware to use). However, their food is phenomenal. I had the spicy shrimp goulash and, I kid you not, I have had dreams about that goulash since then it was that good! I will most likely return and just make sure that I dont have the same waiter.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and from the moment we entered the door we received fantastic service. The waitstaff was fantastic - from providing recommendations to making sure our every desire was met. My husbands steak came in a little under, and not only did the waitress notice it without him having to say anything, she offered to take it back despite the fact that he was more than a few bites in. FANTASTIC service and very romantic decor. How did I ever miss this little Clayton treasure.

The crab cakes were tasty and my linguine with prawns was okay too. But in general, the food was odd. They kept pushing this arugula, bacon, and potato cake thing as a side -- I like all three of these things individually, but together its not an appetizing mix of ingredients. In terms of service: Appetizers arrived before drinks; we saw other tables getting bread, but no one brought us any until we asked. Overall, service and quality of food did not match price tag.

Good food here, not great. I was in town for a business meeting and was with one other person. He enjoyed his meal very much and raved about the wine list. I had the Halibut. It was cooked nicely but the vegetables with it were laden with oil and garlic. Perhaps this is something indigenous to the area (?). I prefer clean organic vegetables with nothing to mask the taste of them. The service was ok. We sat outside and the ambience was awesome. All in all, A-OK.

Friday evening, July 8, with two other couples was one of the best dining experiences lately! The food and the service was outstanding! We are all residents of the St Louis area that like to try new places and this is one that we will highly suggest to our friends ! Management came to table several times during the evening to make sure we were taken care of. Our waiter, Greg, did a stellar job with his reccomendations and attention to our group.

Oceano is a beautiful fine dinning restaurant. I took my wife there for our 1 year wedding anniversary and we both loved it. The experience starts with a friendly and helpful staff. The food is not only pleasing in appearance but the combination of flavor and texture is truly deserving of 5 stars. this combined with the beautiful design and appearance of the building, inside of out, makes for an enjoyable relaxing evening.

Just got back from Oceano Bistro and had an excellent time. The food was beyond perfect. My wife and I got the crab cakes, sea-bass and fried brownie meal and were blown away with how FRESH the seabass tasted. The brownie and ice cream combo was the best dessert I have ever tasted in my life! Highly recommend this place. Service was also 5 star and so was the price! Will certainly go back again.

From the greeting we received when we walked in, to the dessert with the candle to help me celebrate my birthday, the atmosphere was fabulous!! The restaurant is clean, neat and beautiful. Try the Shellfish Sofrito, and the home made chocolate chip cookies! Richard was wonderful, and Ed was very professional. Thank you to the staff and management for a pleasant experience.

I was with a large party for a birthday celebration. Our server TJ was great. He knew the popularity and taste of everything on the menu. He was attentive, professional and very flexible. The seafood was fresh, plating was beautiful and the food was magnificent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves seafood and great service.

Had both breakfast and dinner here on the lovely patio. The vegetables with Brie dip was unusual and tasty. Tuna burger and fish sandwich were delicious (coming from an east coaster thats high praise!). The fennel dusted scallops for dinner were perfectly cooked and the citrus sauce was soaked up with bread after the scallops were gone.

When we usually eat fish we eat and Landrys at Union Station. However, Oceano Bistro was had excellent service, atmosphere, and most of all food. They claim that the fish they serve is 36 hours or less from being in the ocean and it absolutely taste like it. Highly recommended you will not be disappointed.

Really enjoyed the service and the food. We had a comfortable spot in the restaurant for our group of nine and the wait staff was efficient and helpful without being overbearing. Only ding was on the location of the bar, which made it hard to gather around before dinner without blocking the front door.

I was there for lunch and had the special for the day, which was Crab Risolto and I was not impressed. For a dish called Crab Risolto, the crab was sparse and the dish did not have a crab flavor. There was about a tablespoon of crab used as a garnish on top of the dish but that was it.

Nice atmosphere. The brunch was really good and had interesting seafood options. I would like to go back for dinner. The only thing I didnt like was finding out that my hot tea with a 10 cent tea bag and warm water cost 4 dollars. Everything else was reasonably priced.

The menu is small and overpriced. The food was good, but not worth what we spent. The service and atmosphere were also good, but overall this is an unremarkable restaurant and I am in no hurry to go back. One would be better off going for happy hour than anything else.

The Oceano Bistro is located in the heart of Clayton where you will find the Clayton County Courts nearby. Their menu is mostly seafood with plenty of other wonderful dishes to select from. The service was wonderful and we are most certainly planning on coming back.

Absolutely amazing.....I was recommended here and it did not disappoint. Hands down best seafood restaurant in St. Louis as it was flavorful and fresh. Friendly staff and knowledgeable about the food. I will definitely be back!
