Horrible!Im 56 years bold and have gone to Beechwood ALL MY LIFE,not to mention worked for Rock for 10 yrs and NEVER EVER HAVE BEEN EMBARRASSED AS WE WERE TONIGHT! I Always wear a nice clean tank and have a clean neat appearance. My wife and I waited a short 5 min at the front where 3 young girls were at the counter then seated to the back middle because of dinning room being full,NO PROBLEM even though I am on a cain due to having a walking boot and dislocated ankle. We sat 5 min then this LITTLE GIRL claiming to be a manager approach led us in front of everyone and asked us to leave the dinning room because I have a tank top on! I asked obviously for William or Rock and neither were there. She said this had ALWAYS BEEN THE DRESS CODE???HELL I WORKED IN A TAKE TOP FOR YEARS! SHE THOUGHT NEAT IN APPEARANCE SUCKS AS A MANAGER! PEOPLE STARED AT US LIKE WE WERE THIEVES!!! I was there about 2 weeks ago and wore basically the same thing as always .Matter of fact Will spoke and shook hands and the week or so b4 also.Rocky has sat down with us many times with me wearing take and tonight many women had tanks, halters and sleeveless shirts on but I guess thats different??? Never in 56 years have I ever been so humiliated in Beechwood! I know Im a drop in the bucket and mean nothing but, this Little girl single handed stopped a lifelong tradition of eating a Beechwood clasic...Mark Mitchell

Last Thursday, approximate 9:00 pm, we were greeted by our server. I stated to our server that my wife has severe allergies and a young lady came to our table to accommodate, which we much appreciated. Both of our dinners were Perfecto! The only problem we had was our waiter. Very cordial, but he must have been smoking weed. He dropped us like a used condom. Forgot my gumbo 3 times. We asked him a question about a sauce and he was going to reply with a answer from the chef, he never returned. He never refilled our waters. A couple behind us had to go get his own carry out box. Another couple was leaving, we overheard her stated two other customers left for lack of service. Our server had other things on his mind, and it was not our dinning experience at this great restaurant. We highly recommend the food and other people, just not the short round tattoo guy that spent too much time else where. We, and one other customer was his only customer, its was late evening, so it was not like he was too busy. Again, Mr. Wood, 5 stars for your food, a quarter star for service. Thanks for your time.

The waiting area is really small and cramped but they get you a table quickly enough so you arent too annoyed. The hostess offered for us to go wait in the lounge where it was non smoking and much cooler. It probably would be better if they offered to bring us drinks where we were waiting because we arent lounge folks. Anyway, we got seated within 20 minutes and had our drinks about 15 minutes after that and our salads about 20 minutes after being seated. I was a little dissapointed in the salad cuz it was a bed of arugula with a purple onion slice and a tomato wedge on top. It definitely wouldve been better were it iceberg lettuce with the few toppings. Anyway, the wait staff was awesome. The steak was really good. I ordered mine rare to medium rare but more on the rare side. My husband ordered his medium but it was more medium rare. The gravy thing they put with ur steak is kinda gross and i dont know what it is. But overall i would have to say its a good place and I understand why the locals dine there because their choices are very limited.

Phenomenal! Every dish was executed perfectly! This was one of the best meals Ive had in a long time. I was there during a massive dinner rush and sat in the coffee shop side, since I was alone. Even with as busy as it was, I never had to wait for anything. I was extremely well taken care of, including being served quite often by the manager. I met one of the owners, Will, who had been busy expediting, but still took the time to greet guests who wanted to provide comments. He was extremely friendly and welcomed the feedback, as a great owner should. Beechwood will definitely become a regular dinner spot when I move to town in a couple of weeks!

Stopped in on fathers day, as we were driving cross country, and decided to give them a try. The place had the overall feel of a rundown family diner, but the place was packed and had great reviews. Due to how busy they were there was a mix up in the kitchen and our appetizer came out after our entrees, but that was easily overlooked as the steaks were amazingly well prepared, and quite flavorful (my only critique would be maybe a touch too heavy on the seasoning, but thats knit picking). Only thing keeping this place from five stars is the blue cheese dressing was just ranch dressing with cottage cheese stirred in.

Best hamburger steaks around. It has the feel of a long-established place where everyone knows exactly what to do. Very good steaks and seafood. A full bar and good sides and desserts. Nothing fussy, just plain Mississippi cooking at its best. Theres always a crowd, but rarely if ever a wait to be seated. Service has occasionally been a little slow, but food is cooked to order, and as we all know, that can take time. And thats only a little slow, not unreasonably so. If youre in good company, it wont be a bother. Im always glad I went.

As somebody who travels I like to look for the local joints so I can experience something new. This one you shouldnt miss! Sat at the Lounge side and our bartender Sydney took good care of us. Steak was cooked just right. I normally wont get a medium rare at places I am not familiar with but after reading the reviews I got the impression they knew what they were doing. And I was right. Service was prompt, salad didnt come out on top of food so timing was just right, and my drink was never empty. Cant ask for much more than that.

upon pulling up I had the intention of having lunch and a drink. The restaurant was nearly empty and immediately I noticed the smell... it smelled like my grandmothers basement. The waitress was extremely friendly, and she brought me a glass of water without even asking while I looked at the menu. But upon looking at the menu I realized how ridiculously over priced the items were. Well, none of their overpriced items sounded appealing to me so I left. Have not been back since.

On 7/2/17 my party and I visited this restaurant approximately 6 out of the 12 were served cold. The hush puppies were charred and one patron was instructed by the chef that that they come dark on the outside, crack it open and eat it. He further stated, If I fry you more I guarantee you they will be the same. A big thank you to waitress Stephanie for trying to make a horrible experience better. Shirley Purvus ST. Louis, MO.
