The good: The Bruschette, service was pretty good, decor and location were good. The bad: Poor tap selection. Ordered a Spotted Cow which came in a bottle and had to be poured into a Plastic Miller Lite cup. If you ordered a chicken sandwich or a burger you would only get a chicken sandwich or a burger. Lettuce, tomato were $1.50 extra, fries and coleslaw was $3.25 extra, sweet potato fries and coleslaw were $4.25 extra. So you couldnt just order a burger and fries and didnt get fries with your burger. The worst part is that the burger cost $8+ to start with which is the cost of an average basket. The burger was a frozen patty reheated. It was worse than you could have bought at the local grocery store. The black and blue burger was a bun, reheated frozen patty, and some blue cheese. My wifes chicken sandwich wasnt any better. She did not even finish it. Very plain. The coleslaw was not coleslaw but some sort of salad that you could have bought at a grocery store pre-made. Expected a good local pub in a nice location with some local food. Instead, Bottom line: Way too expensive, bad food, limited choices. Would have done better at a fast food joint.

Boyfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to Bayfield and stopped in at Pier Plaza for lunch. I had the shrimp grilled romaine heart salad, and it was AMAZING! By far the best salad I have ever had, and I never thought I would be that excited about a salad. I just had it yesterday and Im already craving it again as I type this. My boyfriend had the fish and chips with trout, and really enjoyed his meal as well. Great prices for a lot of amazing food, and the moscsto is wonderful too. The waiter was very kind and talkative and was able to answer all of our questions. Definitely can not wait to go back!

Great fish and their shrimp on Wednesdays is amazing. The only reason I rate it 4 stars is because in the off season or near the end if the summer, they run the place in "Island Time". Thus one could have driven all the way to Bayfield and upon arrival found the place closed when the posted hours say it should be open. This has been very problematic for my family and I since we live 30 minutes away. To remedy this we simply call ahead to make sure theyll be open. To sum it up, great restaurant but call ahead to make sure theyre open.

Had two meals here. First was the fish and chips (wife and I both, she had whitefish and I did lake trout). Both very good. Second meal was the white fish sandwich. Also very good. I did breaded, but Im thinking it wouldve better broiled. Also they got some good beer on tap. (Widowmaker Black (KBC)) very good. Despite being incredibly busy, service was really good. Note: For parties 10 or more people you need to call in a reservation if I heard correctly.

Our first visit to Bayfield was for Applefest this fall. Our friends suggested that we visit the Pier Plaza. We enjoyed our afternoon coffee break there! The apple crisp was excellent, topped with caramel sauce and accompanied by cinnamon ice cream. It was the best apple treat we ate at Applefest (trust me, there are many good apple treat to enjoy!) When we return to Bayfield, we will be sure to eat at this restaurant again!

The service was subpar. I was with seven people and we had to sit in different places in the restaurant, and they werent even busy. If you order a burger (+$11), you need to specify that you want fries, (+$4). Also, they have something called a "plate charge" of $3 if youd like to share a meal with someone. Its just been a long while since Ive felt like the owners of a restaurant were "cheap". Thats the vibe I got.

Nice for lunch or dinner. Great views, inside or patio dining with good service. There is a traditional bar separated from the dining area. Burgers and sandwiches are very good, ribeye dinner was perfectly cooked. They also have an ice cream window accessible from the sidewalk. They have free WiFi. Been going there at least a dozen years.

Fast service on a busy July Tuesday. We had the Cuban with fries (amazing!) and a special Mac and chicken dish with green beans, mushrooms, penne and Alfredo sauce (lacking in flavor). It came with some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup - yummy! Friendly staff and interesting decor. Wed come again if in the area.

Our group quickly decided that this was our favorite restaurant during our stay in Bayfield. The pork belly mac and cheese was phenomenal comfort food. Great steaks and trout. Mixed drinks were great also. Great service, atmosphere. All at a great value for the area.

Jared, Janine, Sharon, John and rest of the crew always take great care of us. Their standards (burgers, fries, soup salad) are always consistent, and they have interesting daily specials. Make sure to go for fish fry on Fridays, especially during herring season.

Nice pub type restaurant with lake views and a big deck. Dogs are allowed on the deck. Staff was super friendly. You can get anything from a burger to a nice steak. Yummy drinks.

Attentive wait staff and a shorter wait than expected. We enjoyed the all you can eat Friday fish fry, our first in Wisconsin. Other entrees were good sized portions too.
