Visited here for the first time for dinner this evening (Sunday, 8/21). The food itself was pretty good, with highlights being the complex flavors in the fried rice and, the subtle peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls, and the crispy, flavorful egg rolls. That said, the service was strikingly slow. It took ten minutes to receive menus after being told to seat ourselves. Appetizers arrived quickly, but we had to wait around twenty minutes after finishing appetizers for the entrees. By the time came to request our check, we learned to give our overworked (but unfailingly polite) waiter the credit card to run when asking for the check. But the two-star review really comes down to the fact that there was a medium-sized, black dog seated under the booth behind us for the entire time we were in there. It was clearly not a service dog (the owners took it outside at one point to greet friends they saw thru the window, and it was pulling like crazy, obviously neither trained as a service dog nor identified as one). In addition to being a clear health code violation, it shows a lack of consideration for other patrons on the part of both the owners and the restaurant.

Firstly I was among 8 couples waiting for my food. Waited over 20 mins for food to arrive. Lemonade ridiculously sweet I had to use the half a glass of water to dilute it. Ordered ginger chicken. The broccoli was warm chicken cold. Again the sauce..I have no words to explain how sweet this was. I am a fan of desserts and love sweets. This is an entree and even it had to be sweet this is too much. My daughter ordered a seafood type soup. It was tasty but not enough seafood.

Best Vietnamese restaurant Ive been to in the twin cities. I appreciate the little touches: the fried shallots, the two types of pork on the rice noodle salad, the picked radish and carrot. The grilled meats are recognizable - and actually grilled - chunks of meat. Its not hugely different from other Vietnamese restaurants, but its a little better and a little more thoughtful. Update: according to the owner, Andrew Zimmern agrees with me that this is the best Vietnamese in town.

I really loved the clay bowl stir fries, and requested a vegan one and it was super flavorful, textured and filling. I like the interior of this space too, and its easily accessible with lots of free street parking on or near Grand Ave. Ive been there twice and both experiences were just fabulous-- one was a dinner where it was pretty busy, and the other time was lunch where we were the only customers at first. Hope it gets more business! Its totally deserving.

IndoChin Vietnamese restaurant is my number one top favorite Vietnamese restaurant of all time. Located in one of my most beloved Saint Paul neighborhoods IndoChin is the quintessential hidden local gem. Closed on Wednesdays so the owner can go to market for the freshest herbs and veggies. Cozy casual decor with a fresh clean feel, soft background music, friendly service. Incredibly flavorful delicious dishes that make you feel good not guilty.

Disappointed! We got there at 8pm and they dont close till 9pm. There were customers still seated and eating. The waiter told us they dont close till 9pm but they dont serve anymore. This is still early. Most restaurants still take customers even if closing in 30 minutes. What a surprise.

Ive been on a pho kick and must say I have not met a match for this place in the twin cities! Their spring rolls are sooo good too! And hot pots! Small little family operated, they totally make you feel at home. Some beer on the menu and wine.

Bad service. Owner/waitress is mad. She knocked over my coat two times to the floor and said nothing. No Asian customers. Food is Americanized, but the steamed rice earthen pot combination is Wonderful. Pho broth is good, too.

What a little gem of a restaurant! The pace is unhurried, the food is delicious and priced right for the college crowd. I like to explore the different flavors of Asia, and there is much to try out here! Also beer and wine.

Yum! Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday in 2017. The service was friendly and quick, food was delicious! Perfect place for a casual, quiet bite to eat. The spring rolls were fresh and the wanton soup was excellent.

Great menu and high quality preparation. Reasonably priced options on Grand Ave. As it is a small restaurant, it does get cold in the winter with the front door being so close to the tables, but great overall.

Owner/waiter can be rude at times. Tries to charge extra for standard pepper for pho. Been eating pho in various places and regions this shouldnt be extra. Food is fine but customer service goes a long way.

Just had a great lunch! Ordered spring rolls, fried tofu, and bowl of hot & sour soup. The fried tofu appetizer was quite the tasty surprise with a sesame crust. Good service, too!

Delicious, delicately prepared, fresh dishes, reasonably priced. A neighborhood treasure. (But if you come late afternoon before dinner transition, service is sometimes poor.)

Vegetarian-centric owner/chef who caters to vegetarians & meat-eaters both. Delicious long-cooked pho broth, delicious veggie dishes, and the clay pot is yummy too.

Great food, good price. The clay pot C6 is the best. I liked the Que Nha location better but IndoChin has virtually the same menu and quality.

Totally awesome egg rolls I just want to give a shout out to fumi because she is a great cook and she makes the egg rolls at Indochin!

DONT GET THE CREAM CHEESE PUFFS. They have a sweet filling on the inside instead of "cream cheese" disappointing
