Years ago, we drove nearly 10 miles to get the deep dish pizza at the Grand Ave location on a weekly basis. I even worked at the one in Shoreview, and the Grand Ave deep dish still tasted better. Its been a while, but when a Crowd Cut coupon popped up; my mouth watered and I wanted one from the original location. I just wish upon driving the long distance, passing up 2 other Green Mills along the way and eating the deep dish -would have been worth it on Oct 27 around 7 pm. It looked as if it was baked to perfection, but it was at best tepid when it reached the table. It was not a crowded night, so I dont know where the break down was...but my brother and I gave it barely a 5.5 on a scale of 10. It had cold spots and lukewarm ones like it was nuked in the microwave instead of hot out of the oven. Boohoo. I really miss my original Green Mill Deep Dish flavor. Now I have nowhere to capture it again! Not even at the original location!

Called to place an order. First time, the phone just rang and rang. Second time I called, the woman put me on hold to ask the cook a question, then I got that unfortunate sound from the phone where they disconnected me and all I got was a dial tone. I called a third time and asked if they were having problems with the phone. This time it was a man that answered the phone. He told me that isnt their fault, but rather our phones fault, which I know for a fact is a lie. Then he had the NERVE to say, well Im going to put her back on the line, BECAUSE IT ISNT MY PROBLEM, meaning his. I have never encountered such rude behavior from them before and I must confess he made me say a word I havent said in years. I will NEVER call for an order or go to that Green Mill ever again. He was just out and out rude AND SHOULDNT EVEN BE IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. Monday, March 27th, 6:00 pm.

Located on historic Grand Ave this is the only Green Mill that brews their own beer. The selection is decent with all the normal styles covered. They usually do a decent job of serving the beer in the correct style of glass too which you dont see too often from the chain restaurants. Food options are good. Typical American stuff like burgers and sandwiches. Pizza is the specialty and its great stuff. Average sports bar/family restaurant atmosphere makes the dining pleasant. The lack of onsite parking is a bit of a pain (I believe there is a lot across the street for Green Mill customers but its not very big). Not a real problem during the week but can be on busy weekends. Other then that the Green Mills St. Paul location is a great place to grab a beer and a bite.

Be clear, it is hard to mess up pizza, however I have seen it happen. This GM made a small mistake on my order to the degree that I cannot remember. What I DO remember is Lula and the fact that she made me feel at home. Minnesota is not known for true customer service but Lula reminded me what customer service is. She made the order right. She bought me a drink while I waited and did not just leave me sitting there looking stupid. She engaged in real conversation and treated me like a human being. Whoever hired her found a top notch manager. I have been to this GM in the past and management sucked. Now, eat at GM 3xs a week now just because of the awesome customer service. LULA- YOU GO GIRL!!!

I am a neighbor of the green mill and as I write this in my living room Im looking right at it. I go there 3+ nights a week always have the same horrible waitress that takes 45 mins to get a drink and will just bring the tab by without asking if we wanted anything else than charged my friend 2.50 for soda water without offering a refill than when my friend complained she quoted a 10 dollar minimum at me for no ordering enough. Worst service ever and the food is average at best drinks are watered down and the service is consistently horrible no matter what waiter you get save ur time and your money visit chilis or Applebees if ur seeking a chain without crappy food and arrogance

Based on very pleasant, memorable dining experiences , my family, friends and I have become "regulars" for lunch and or dinner at the Green Mill Restaurant located on the corner of Hamline and Grand Ave in St. Paul. The food is great and the service is efficient and friendly. David makes sure we are well taken care of at the table and Paul is a delightful conversationalist if you are just looking to enjoy an "adult beverage" at the bar. Manager Jaqui has everyone feeling welcome as she makes the rounds, setting a good example for her team who authentically seem to be enjoying themselves as they work. Nice to see such customer service these days!

Showed up at 9 pm for happy hour, and there was no hostess, despite a decent crowd in the bar and restaurant. Had to walk into the kitchen after five minutes just to find someone who worked there who could seat us. Waited for almost ten minutes and no waitress showed up, so we left. The waiters just keep walking in and out of the kitchen with no food in their hands; they could have at least served us water when we were seated. This place has gotten progressively worse since the good old days, when I celebrated my 21st birthday here. Still, I do plan to go back and hopefully rewrite this review.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences Ive had at a restaurant. We ordered a deep dish pizza (among with other things) and then were told 15 minutes later they had changed the menu s couple weeks ago (but apparently hadnt switched out their actual menus) and couldnt make our pizza in a deep dish. We then all waited over an hour for our food and the restaurant was far from busy. Another 20 minutes after that for a simple brownie dessert. And then we were double charged for 2 of our dishes, which added $43 extra to the bill. All of this happened without much of an apology.

I have been going to this location for a few months on a regular basis. Mainly for delivery to my home and have never had anything but great fast service and food. Tonight our order had got quite messed up with two of the three things I ordered being wrong. I called and right away I got to talk to a manager and new meals sent out to us that were correct free of charge. They apologized and made sure to get correct orders out to me as quick as possible. SAM the manager was a fantastic help very very kind and efficient. I will happily continue to go to this location and no other

The service was absolutly horrible. My waitress came back 2 times once for water the next to bring the food out. My boyfriend and i noticed all she was really doing was standing around talking. When we got our check we waited a total of 10 mins to cash out we litterally had to tell another waitress to get her so we can leave. When you bring the check you check back 2 minutes later. Your tables come first not your duties you have to do to leave work. Overall we were there for an hour and twenty minutes. The food was okay but i would not reccomend going to this green mill.
