I went to Wildcats several months ago trying to support a local business and find a great hole in the wall place to visit more ofter. The food was NOTHING to write home about. I ordered a California chicken sandwich (I think that was the name) and tater tots. The sandwich was an unseasoned chix breast with a piece of lettuce and tomato. No sauces or anything. Tots were simply out of the deep fryer. No seasoning on this either. My friend (who is a chef) ordered fish and chips-not impressive either. Simply a breaded frozen deep-fried piece of fish and frozen deep friend onion rings. Nothing home made. We should have saved our money and gone to the grocery store and had her whip up something 10x better. Also, I believe our server was one of the owners and he kept asking if we wanted another beer, which thank God we didnt get because at the time they didnt have tap beer so they were selling bottles and they were obnoxiously over priced. I could have bought a twelve pack for what we had to pay for two beers.

Im not sure why a couple of the reviewers bashed this place so badly. The owner and his staff are always wonderful and friendly. They had a slow start with some licensing issues (city lost their application) but have now become a full service bar & grill. The menu has been expanded since theyve opened and Im not sure why some say that theres nothing homemade on the menu. The owner makes fresh cut fries, greek food and homemade soup, among other things. Maybe they came when it was a more limited menu. We went in expecting to have a beer and some lunch on a Saturday afternoon and have ended up making several trips back. I guess its what I would expect when I go to a small bar & grill....good food, good atmosphere and a friendly staff. They are also very supportive of the community as well. Well keep going back.

Having lived in Eagan for a few years, Id only ever driven by Steakbones. On a whim, with the wife and kid out of town, I decided to give it a try. I went on a Wednesday night - 10oz Sirloin Special Night - and ordered the special. The atmosphere was very nostalgic and dated, but the service and food was beyond expectations. It took about 15 minutes to get my steak, potato and Texas toast...plenty of time to eat the salad I made in their modest salad bar. The meat was juicy, tender and done just right - medium, as requested. The first bite caught me completely off guard. So delicious my eyes watered up - could it be that a Steakbones steak made me want to cry? Come and try it for yourself. Be sure to bring a couple tissues, just in case.

I love a great dive bar and being new to the town, I thought this would be it. The atmosphere is your typical uneven stools, old tables, friendly waitress, no problems there. My beer, a bottled bud light to start, tasted "off" and skunky. Even my tap beer after that tasted bad. I ordered the chicken ceaser wrap and that wasnt any better. It was wrapped so lose that it immediately fell apart, not to mention they served the dressing on the side, making it incredibly dry. But you couldnt dip the thing because of how lose it was. The fries were bland and soggy. If you want old beer, bland food, and to leave smelling like smoke, this is your place.

The wings were good but everything went downhill from there. The ribs would have been inedible if it wasnt for the BBQ sauce, which was gooey enough to cover up the gray, dried rib meat. The place popped up on Google for its tasty fish fry but the internet was more truthful when it told me I had a rich Nigerian uncle. The breading must have been some combination of rock salt and gravel. The server was nice enough but theres only so much you can do when the food is terrible. I guess its an okay place if you want to get loaded.

Dont listen to any yahoos who knock this place. George is a great owner who is always friendly and remembers you even if you havent been in for a few months. Servers are attentive, but not stuck up - you can joke with them and just enjoy yourself. Id recommend visiting on a game day, a quick lunch or an outing after work. My wife and I stop up every few weeks (cant afford to eat out all the time). Always leave full and feel like we had a good time - thats what youd expect out of a restaurant such as this.

I did a 26 month assignment in the Eagan area. I found Wildcats as it was walking distance from the ESA. Wildcats is family owned and operated. Food is good, inexpensive, and you get large portions. Gyros are fantastic. Staff is a lot of fun and treated me like family (which means we gave each other a great deal of abuse). Regulars are also a lot of fun. Bingo on Monday and Wednesday evenings. When I do get back to MN, and I WILL GET BACK TO MN, I will make a beeline back to Wildcats.

Hi. We stopped in at your place on our way back home from a VA appointment. Son has cancer and had a test that really did him in and needed a quick bite. Boy we were taken back by the awesome food we got. Husband got the gyro and we all remarked on how that was like the best one ever. Handcut fries awesome. We will be stopping back as there will be more appointments. We live between Owatonna and Rochester so we always need a nice place for a pit stop. Thanks for the awesome service and food.

In a sea of corporate chains, Wildcats is the rare bar & grill with a neighborhood feel. Popped in on Sunday 10/17 with my wife and two-year-old son. I had the Sunrise Burger and washed it down with one of their wonderful beer offerings while my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Gyro Pita Sandwich. Their hand-battered cheese curds are the best Ive had anywhere, including the MN State Fair. Stop in some time and I promise you will not regret it.

I ve been to this bar twice once for lunch and once for drinks with some friends after a wedding. The food is really good. It is a nice change of pace from the regualr places in Eagan. The service was very attentive, drinks were priced good. The crowd was great. On saturdays they have Karoroke, which my friends really enjoyed. I woudld suggest you give this place a try. Ilm glad i did. I will be going back some time.

Overall happy. Our business moved into the area and a few of us stopped for happy hour during a Wild hockey game. Beer specials were average, food was great, the help was right on. I believe the owner was bartending and was very nice to all of us. He even bought us a round of drinks out of the blue for no reason. Simply a low key place to kick back to eat, drink, and to watch sports with your friends. We will be back.....

Kind of a dark little sports bar. My 4 and 3 year old kids wanted a burger while our car was getting fixed nearby so we stopped in here. The food was good, but i would not recommend bringing kids in here otherwise. The staff was really nice about it and even complimented my kids on being well behaved, but we were definitely out of place in this very masculine sports bar.
