We are long time Scusi fans and were excited to try out its replacement Bottle Rocket. When we arrived around 5pm on Sunday the crowd was light. When we left about an hour later the place was packed, except for the bar which only had a few people. First on the atmosphere and staff. The place has a cold feel, especially the bar which appeared to have a marble top - very wide and large - but the cozy tables that were there when it was Scuzi are gone. The staff was polite and nice but the frequency in which our server asked us if we were ready to order, didnt ask if we wanted dessert, and rushed out with the check ASAP, left us with the feeling that their primary mission was turning over tables quickly. The phrase that comes to mind is corporate competence. The food was meh. The burger was good and my wifes pasta was fine. However, the fries were know different than generic freezer fries one might find at Cub. The beers are 10 oz for $3-$3.50. In summary, Id call the experience disappointing, especially in light of the wonderful Scuzi that Bottle Rocket replaced. It wasnt bad or negative, just unremarkable. Blue Plate is very good at what they do, and will no doubt profit handsomely off their new venture. In my mind Bottle Rocket is an eminently forgettable foray into family style corporate restaurants.

We had the Ooh Aah Omelet and American Breakfast for lunch at the Bottle Rocket on Sunday. The NoWait app they use said "Come on in" and we were indeed seated immediately when we got there. We sat at the counter by request. Seeing the dishes moving through the "Open Kitchen" was both informative and entertaining as we matched the in-process works to their corresponding menu entry. Our scrambled eggs were deliciously creamy. The bacon had crunch without being too well done. The cubed potatoes were nicely cooked on the outside and soft on the inside. The "Texas Toast" was thinner than you might expect by the name, but tasted great with the included blueberry jam (or preserves). I have an unsophisticated palette and dont typically take a lot of risks with my food. Even after watching it be made, I am not sure what the "Power Greens" and "Premium Cheese" listed as omelet ingredients were. Having said that, the omelet was tasty and I enjoyed it. Even at a buck or two per person above our typical meal we will likely be be back to support the quality food from a local business in our neighborhood.

When I went on a Friday I thought it was really cool, the food was good overall, and they had great service. The whole feel, decor, etc was beautiful. We had to wait a while for a table, which was a pain but, again, it was a Friday night. However, I noticed that the people who seemed to be in charge were not being very respectful to the employees. This is a big thing for me because, from experience, I think the restaurant industry is tough as it is without being constantly discouraged by management. I think all people, no matter their position, should be treated with respect; and I was just not seeing that. I was really shocked and taken aback because the employees getting yelled at seemed too kind for the treatment. I just thought it was disrespectful and unprofessional to treat employees that way, in front of costumers no less!

Bottlerocket was an incredibly positive experience! -- my bartender Liz was a pleasure to work with. She was willing and able to hold a great conversation (I was alone) and was polite and personable. Happy Hours prices were hard to beat.... 2 for 1 drinks from the tap, and high-class finger food for under 6 dollars. The atmosphere was modern, yet also homey. Whoever made the playlist was doing their job well :) the lighting was moody but not dim. Great chandeliers. Bar lights ("bottle lights") were hidden, but looked crisp. I cant say enough good things about Bottlerocket. Bring a date, or treat yoself!

When you read the menu the ingredients dont always seem to work, but is always taste great so try anything and everything. Ive been here multiple times and have tried shrimp toast (awesome) Astro burger (awesome) buffalo chicken blast (awesome). I would love to try everything. Our bartender last time we were here was AWESOME (wish I remembered her name) and our server Joel is great too. Honestly all of the staff is wonderful, including the host.

After hearing about how great this place was from multiple friends I was excited to try it out. I went over happy hour time and was seated in the dining room. Happy hour is not served in this section. The three of us ordered and were unimpressed with our food. The restaurant is trendy and decorated well, but I didnt really like the food and wont be returning.

For all the hype it has generated, we and our company did not find it anything special at all... Very crowded, but not sure why. The food was OK, but not amazing having to wait out the crowds. Not sure what people see in it other than a quirky neighborhood joint with some high aspirations. Maybe we were there on an "off" night.

Right in line with the rest of the Blue Plate group. American bistro made with quality ingredients for a decent price. Nothing too far outside the box. You can bring the family here and everyone will find something they like. The cocktails have been hit or miss. I recommend the gimlet variation on the cocktail list.

I love this place. Its in my neighborhood, and its delicious. We ate there on Friday night. We had to wait a bit, but not too long--what Id expect on a Friday night. The bar is small, but its great that there is one. The service, cocktails, & food were great. I plan to go back many times.

Had a pretty good experience here during happy hour with double taps and single pour cocktails, tasty small bar snacks, and a really good roast beef sandwich called the Winnipeger. I sorely miss when this place was Scusi, but its trendy replacement will do ok from time to time.

Tasty food and unique options. I think the breakfast menu is served all day. Happy hour goes pretty late (6pm) but be warned that their HH food options are very small. And all beer pours are 10 oz which is strange and I dont love it.

Food was fun and modern. Lots of trendy twists on normal fare. Would have gotten 4 stars from me if the service was better. Had to wait 10 minutes for a bloody mary. Would go again, but would most likely sit at the bar.

A new interesting good Blue Plate food plate. The food is better than average and kid friendly; if your. Kid is not spoiled or a picky eater. I liked a number of dishes and have liked everything.

Great addition to the blue plate company. Love the option for the bar area or restaraunt side. Made better by watching the open kitchen as they prepare some amazing food.

While the layout is unique and not the best, the service is fantastic. Also, they have a good wine, beer, and cocktail selection, and their brunch is to die for.

Excellent food... Parmesan fries are awesome. Tacos are great! Kids meals are always more than they can eat! Great BOGO for the Summer!

A little too spendy. Good atmosphere and service! Food was average to slightly above average. Nothing to write home about
