Four of us went to Crave West End for dinner last night and it was disappointing to say the least. I made a reservation a week early and we still got seated in the very back overflow room next to a large table of 14 people. For an appetizer, we ordered the crab & artichoke dip for $12.95 and it was literally 4 tablespoons of dip with a loaf of dry bread. We each got 1 tablespoon and had more than half the bread left over. Ridiculous for the price. We also ordered the "Artisan Bread Basket" for $2.95 - what would normally be free at most places. Tasteless, generic, nothing "artisan" about it. The spread they provided didnt even have a taste. We played a game trying to guess what the heck it was. Tasted like Crisco. Then my son ordered his New York Strip ($34.95) Medium and it was charred, dry and overcooked. Not even close to medium. My "Grilled Petite Tender" steak was indeed NOT tender and was cut into chunks for some reason. ? The "whipped yukon potatoes" were about as tasteless as they get. Not even a hint of salt or spice of any kind. Same for the green beans. Tasteless and overcooked. One person ordered the Atlantic Salmon salad and the salmon was raw. The server said "oh its okay, they make sushi out of it". Well, it wasnt okay, it was raw. In a salad? Gross. She had them return it and cook it and they were rude about it. The "Crispy Half Chicken" was really a dry overcooked boneless chicken breast for $20. The bill was $200 with tip. Totally ridiculous and I wont go back.

I had dinner at Crave the night before Thanksgiving with family. I did not pick the place, nor was I picking up the bill and having read the reviews here I was skeptical going in but left with two thumbs up. I had the walleye and it was excellent. The only minor complaint is the green beans could have been cooked a touch longer. The pesto sauce on them was superb, however. The polenta and walleye were very tasty as well. The plates were very filling - we did not have room for dessert. Everyone else had very positive things to say about their meals as well. We sat in the back away from the bar. It was still sort of loud back there (i.e. you could not have a conversation with someone more than two chairs away). Frankly, I would never pay this much for a meal but if you are inclined to do so Crave is a decent option.

I recently went to this Crave location yesterday for my birthday dinner. I decided to write a review because of the amazing service I received. First of all the place is exceptionally clean and had a nice modern atmosphere. Secondly, our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering some sushi with two different kinds. Both types were well prepared but I didnt end up liking one of the sushi sides and decided not to eat it. The waiter ended up getting a manager and the manager came to wish me a happy birthday. He also decided to cut the cost in half on the sushi and allowed me a free dessert. I tried to reaffirm that they had made no mistake and just preferred not to eat it. They gave us the deal anyway. I was very impressed and will be coming to this location from now one. Good work guys.

Love the atmosphere. Great location, professional staff and accomodating to special requests. My last visit was during an early lunch with clients. Not busy compared to what you would see at a later time frame but my food was barely warm. I rated this a 4 star for the overall quality but I was disappointed that my plate was obviously prepped before the salads the others had ordered were being prepared. Ive been to Crave a number ot times and enjoyed it every time. Ill chalk this up to the fact that everyone has an off day but this seems pretty basic. I couldnt ask to have it reheated, we were on a short time frame. Still I recommend it. Good for business lunches, date night and family friendly. Sushi is great!

Food and atmosphere were great. But, drinks took 25 min to get, we had our appetizers before our drinks. When they brought the wrong drink they actually charged us for it which we had to ask to be removed, it never should have been on this bill. Steak was good but not great. For the price it could have been better. Considering it was just the two of us costing over 120 for just 1 appetizer (free with coupon), 1 entree, and 5 drinks, pretty overpriced. Drinks run 10 to 15 for drinks that arent anything super special. Overall an ok experience that costed way too much.

Went to Crave last night for a birthday party. The food was very mediocre- We had to ask for salt and pepper as well as olive oil to add to a pasta that needed flavor. I ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin on the recommendation of the server and got the PORK CHOP- I was with my boyfriends family and was too embarrassed to say that I got the wrong order because I didnt to make anyone feel bad. The place had great aesthetics but other than that it was nothing to write home about as far as service and food were concerned.

The service was really slow over lunch. We had reserved a private booth and I felt like the server never checked on us. This was a formal business lunch and the server paid more attention to her two tops than to our group. I waited quite some time with an empty glass of iced tea. And when it was refilled they did not put more ice. I had to wait another 5-7 minutes before I could flag down a server and ask for him to mound the ice for me. For the price point, I do not think the service matches.

We had a reservation last weekend for an employees going away party and the service was horrible!! When I made reservation they asked if I wanted to add automatic gratuity, and I agreed, which was my mistake considering, since the server knew he was getting a tip I felt as though didnt care at all! The drinks took over a half an hour and the food pretty dry and so-so. Youd think for how expensive the place is they could afford to staff another bartender or 3. Never going back!

It feels like a great funky restaurant and the menu sounds delicious but the actual food is mediocre and drowning in salt and butter. I had the walleye and it was extremely tender and completely tasteless. If it werent for the buttery salty crust, thered have been no flavor at all. Fine if you just want to go out and dont mind breaking the bank on a meal but its definitely possible to cook better food at home with a minimum of effort.

Went for mothers day brunch. The food was okay, probably even good if it was fresher. The wait staff was very polite and attentive however the food wasnt really good enough to justify the price. It was $35.98 per plate without drinks. Made for a very expensive meal that wasnt justified by the ambience. (They didnt even have table cloths). Also mandating a 20% charge for a meal you serve yourself seemed unusual.
