My husband, 2 young daughters and I visited after reading excellent reviews. We ordered a large deep dish cheese pizza. The server informed us that there were diced tomatoes on top..nice of her to give us a heads up. For dessert, we saw gelato on the special board and table tents. 3 of us ordered some. It was served in to-go ramekin cups with snap on lids straight from the freezer. While its flavor was ok, Ive never had frozen solid gelato before. The bill was given to my husband. Upon glancing it over, he asked me to guess how much the gelato was. It was not posted anywhere on the special board, table tents, nor menu. I jokingly guessed $3 each, thinking that was too much. He told me $4.99 each! Ridiculous! We spent more on low quality, gelato out of a plastic cup than we did on pizza. In my opinion, the server should have given us a heads up on the price, especially since 2 of the orders were from kids (more expensive than the kids meal). And I learned the lesson to ask for a price next time. But I wont return.

Unfortunately, my favorite pizza place has let me down four times in a row. From burnt pizza to longer wait for a pickup to my last experience yesterday. I went, with a short amount of time available a half hour total for lunch, to pick up a piece of their pizza at lunch time. They are always "ready". After waiting for about 6 minutes, I coaxed the owner over and which point she asked "havent you been helped yet?". After scolding the kitchen help, she took my order and indicated it would take 2 minutes to warm. 9 minutes later with no pizza in sight, I requested a refund which she gave me. She indicated that she cant hire good help and nobody wants to work. I returned to work 25 minutes after I left with no lunch and off to my meeting. A sad state of affairs for what was my favorite pizza place.

Tonight was our first time trying Italian Pie Shoppe; we decided to try it based on the recommendation of a friend. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and a macaroni and cheese pizza on thin crust. Although the spaghetti was just okay, I can see why they are more known for their pizza because the macaroni and cheese pizza was really good. I wouldnt order the spaghetti again. It wasnt too busy and it had a cozy and homey atmosphere.

By the reviews I thought it would be really good but I was wrong. The best thing I had was the cherry coke sadly. The pizza was fair but Ive had a lot better. We had the dipper and all it was, was toast with cheese on it and a side of sauce that tasted like spaghetti sauce. It had no flavor at all. Plus, the service was poor. Our server was cold and seemed crabby. I dont think Im coming back.

This is the best Chicago deep dish west of Chicago. The stuffed pizza is amazing and the thin crust is wonderfully grand. I have eaten at restaurants all over the world and the Basta family make some of the *B*E*S*T pizza in the USA. Worth the trip from anywhere in the 5 state region. You Canadians would like it too.

Great atmosphere, cool place. Pizza isnt bad, but for a place that touts itself as Italian, the pizza is pretty basic. I got a Margherita pizza expecting fresh tomatoes and basil but instead got canned tomatoes slathered on dry crust. But if your expectations arent high, youll like it.

Pizza always good!! Service is great. Good choices on beer and wine. Italian fries are a favorite and consistent each visit! Have a hard time deciding between thin crust or stuffed pizza. Want spicier sausage? Ask for the link sausage to be cut up and put on your pizza. Great!!!

We called in an order for Lasagna, when we got home it was spaghetti. We called and told them about the mix up to which the manager replied " I was standing right next to the kid when he said spaghetti." Basically trying to call us liars, And the spaghetti sucked.

Excellent little pizza place. The atmosphere is homey, and the food is delicious. We had the meat lovers deep dish pizza, which I highly recommend. They also have a small beer selection. Great place for lunch or dinner!

Impressively terrible. Pizza was dry and gross, salad was pathetic, garlic bread was burnt and tasteless. I wouldve been happier eating a budget store-bought pizza.
