do yourself a big favor and dont eat here. Go to yangzi just down the road instead. Yangtze outclasses tea Tea House in every way. My girlfriend and I sat down and we noticed that there was food all over our plate, cup and silverware. I was pretty shocked and we asked for a Clean Plate, cup and silverware. The waitress casually noted that none of the stuff had been washed. I thought a big mistake had been made but it would be corrected. I was wrong. 3 times we asked for Clean Plate, cup and silverware. And I never got it everything they brought me was encrusted in food. That was a pretty awkward. I used to deliver water softening salt to tea house so I would have to go into the kitchen to fill their water softener. That kitchen is absolutely disgusting, I did not like what I saw one bit. been going in here since I was a little tiny kid. I used to ask to go here on my birthday. The truth is this block is on the way down. Tea house is taking advantage of this excellent location but theyre not delivering on it. The food has taken a nosedive. I mean to tell you that having loved this place for years but having that dirty silverware plate and cup experience Im kind of at a state of disbelief. Im not going to come back to this place. I have lived to see this place completely fail. Ill eat at a hole in the wall every night of the week if the food is good and I can get a Clean Plate, cup and silverware. I never thought it was much to ask for a Clean Plate cup and set of silverware. I really dont know what to say. We ate off the platter rather than the plate and we didnt touch the cup or the silverware they gave us, we used the Serving Spoon. Just dont go here. Something seriously isnt right.

Did you know that the menu here used to be in the same font that Disney uses in all their work? I think its called Waltograph. That was back when the Tea House had two menus; one menu for people who like their pork sweet and sour, and the other menu for people who like their pork stomach. It was somewhat disquiting eating here--while you ate your egg fu young, the people next to you chattered in Mandarin and ate a whole fish covered in sauce. All thats changed, except theres still whole fish. The menus have been blended together and the font is less Mickey Mouse. I had the soup buns, the ma po tofu, and Szechuan green beans. Have you ever had soup buns? Theyre classic dim sum, a pork soup inside a steamed shell. Eating them is a bit of an art, because you have to bite and slurp all in one go. Its vampire practice. The food was very good, full of spice and flavor, and the restaurant is a classy place. Do come sometime for the lunch buffet, and pick up the menu while youre there. And try to try something youve never had before. The pork stomach is very nice.

Lets start with clarifying that this Tea House location is the same owner as the one on University Ave but it is set in a very out of the way suburban location. I dont know how long it has been here but you can tell it has been a long time. The interior is acceptable but does not enhance the experience in any way. The food though is completely authenticate Chinese, with many of the harder to find native dishes available here. It is not unusual to see large groups of Chinese-americans eating at one of the large round tables, in a traditional family style setup. My wife and I have been eating here for years and some of our favorites are the Szechuan green beans, Dan Dan Noodles, Chung King spicy chicken and pan fried Bao Zi (steamed buns).

A day before I came in, I called and confirmed that dim sum buffet is still available. However, when I came in the next day, I was told that dim sum buffet was no longer available. I was very upset since I drove quite a distance. Since my family was hungry, we decided to eat their buffet anyway. The food was horrible - cold, limited selection, barely had any meat. There was tofu, eggs, chicken feet, bread - all the cheap stuff. Hardly worth the $12.95 they charge you for. Plus, they automatically charge you 15% gratuity charge. So you end up paying around $16 for each person for buffet. You can go to other buffets and have a better selection of food for less than $16. Horrible! Stay away!

Im a harsh Chinese food critic. This place is almost never busy which is a shame, because I really enjoy their dinner menu and I think they deserve more business. I think it beats every other Chinese place in the Plymouth / Golden Valley area. Ive had them all. I judge mostly on perceived freshness and flavor, so take that how you will. The food here just seems cleaner than most Chinese food places. I think the service is fine, but sometimes I feel like its too smarmy. One or two of their staff need to dial back the attempt at humor a little bit... I mean, leave me alone dude cant you see me shamefully eating Chinese food?

nice place for a traditional buffet feedbag! Would have given 5 stars but I pretty much had gas for the rest of the day and my wife got pretty annoyed at bedtime as I was still having issues. Just fix that little issue and this place is cant miss!! PS the next morning everything was fine after finishing my morning routine! Also kid friendly. My three large sons ages 5-10 can eat ALLOT!!! They never make us feel ashamed for polishing off the whole tray of kung pow or sesemie chicken. The boys feel right at home THANKS!!

I am very shocked at the reviews on here for the buffet- if you could justify calling it a buffet. All I can suggest is be sure to examine all the items, (not many). If you are in the market for duck mush, hog feet, and minced chicken gizzard as all but one meat choice, youre in luck. The edible choices tasted days old, and were not restocked. You may also want to ask what this Luke warm array of garbage will cost you for a Saturday lunch. $40 for 2 adults and an 8 year old!! What a disgrace, but lesson learned.

I was horrified by my experience. We brought my young daughter on a Sunday. We were immediately glared at and finally they sat us down. The man asked how did we hear about this restaurant-its not for people like us. I was shocked and he humiliated us. We ended up getting the food and it was pretty bad anyway-I walked out. I have never in my life been treated this way! I am not sure if it was how we were dressed or other factors! I sure hope they have cleaned up their act-not acceptable behavior.

Worst place for sodium level watchers! We did 3 orders, one of order came TOO SALTY!! We took one piece and that was all we had from the dish. Two others were salty too but edible. :-( I looked the other table and found they didnt even finish 1/4 of their plates when they left (of course they didnt ask for to-go box). Many of my friends seem to have same complaints or some other dissatisfaction with this restraurant. Anyway, we notifiied them when we left, but nothing happened. Totally not recommended.
