So, I initially decided to go to Yum based on it appearing in a CityPages list of top places to eat with kids in the Twin Cities. Well, this is a tale of 2 experiences... First, the food: The food, each time Ive gone is very good. Ive tried the mussels, fish tacos, chicken salad and fish and chips. They certainly know how to cook and the atmosphere is open and bright witch makes it feel like youre outside even when youre not. However, that is where the fun ends. If you have more than one kid, dont take them here, its a disaster. Issue #1: Menu: There is no kids menu, which seems strange given that its a "kid-friendly" restaurant. Then, if you just want to peruse the menu from a location you can actually see it, you are ALWAYS in someones way. You cannot just stand at the counter and look (which is a requirement with no kids menu) if you have kids. You will either be in the way of the folks delivering food to the tables or the other patrons trying to order. They jam everyone that is pre-meal into a tiny space and then fill it up with tables full of toys/gadgets for sale that inevitably, a kid is going to get into. Issue #2: Ordering: Anyone with kids knows, ordering food is not always a smooth process. But, at Yum, you are queued up and at any time there are at least 1-3 people/parties waiting behind you to order and as said before, there is no where to just stand to the side to figure it all out. You are there, with a cashier staring at you mumbling answers(?) to your questions which are inaudible and you have a stack of hungry folks behind you wanting to eat. Pressures on...After youve managed to order and find a table things go much better, but it just isnt worth the hassle. Oh, and if you need a booster seat, you wont find one. They do have the wooden high chairs but no boosters. DAmico & Sons is a way better option for a family meal IMO.

This place is pretty garbo. I went to this place ordering Fish and Chips. Well, first of all, the so called "Deep-Fried Cod" was more fried than fish. I barely tasted the fish in the actual thing. It was like going to the state fair and getting some deep-fried food except theres nothing good inside of it! Secondly, the chips were close to being burnt. It looked like the McDonalds couldnt properly cook their fries so they sent it to this place to serve. The only thing notable about this place is the drink selection. A grand array of a handful of drinks to choose from. Also notable is the okay tasting Mac and Cheese (the only thing they didnt screw up on). This place #SUCKS! Dont come here.

Five star desserts, three star food. The food items are okay. but overpriced in my opinion. The dessert items, however, are off-the-charts fantastic. The Patty Cake is unreal -- looks like just plain old chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, but oh my goodness, wait until you taste this. Weve also had the peanut butter bars, cupcakes, and other assorted sweets, and everything is amazing. My biggest complaint is that they close pretty early, and it seems to me a place with heavenly desserts would want to attract late night snackers.

Staff was okay. Not great. Not horrible.... the gal taking orders couldnt answer any questions without having to walk away and ask someone else. Very few gluten entree free items. All salad dressing had gluten expert for oil and vinegar and French. Not sure why anyone would need gluten in a creamy salad dressing. Also overpriced for quality. Wish we would have gone somewhere else with real service for the price. Patio is noisy with street traffic and views of busy street, stop light and apartments.

Delicious! Enjoyed the Oriental Chicken Salad & a glass of chardonnay as well as a key lime pie. Restaurant, order counter, & dessert counter clean & neat. Staff friendly but seemingly expect tips for standing behind a counter (old school used to tipping after meal is brought to table) & not able to provide tip after meal with counter service. Culvers set up much the same way & tip is not expected by meal delivery people. Other than that semi-awkward moment a great dining experience!

Really enjoyed our experience here! Came highly recommended. Fun environment! My husband got the Turkey Foccacia with mac&cheese and I ordered the Baka Mahi Fish Tacos. Delicious, healthy, Hugh quality and fresh! Definitely try it! If we lived in the area wed be back and test out the remainder of their menu items! They also have a bakery and coffees but we were full and satisfied from our meals. :-)

Outstanding lunch today at the new Yum location in Minnetonka off of Shady Oak. It was crazy busy but the atmosphere was terrific. We got there at 11:50am and it took 20 minutes of standing in line before we were able to order because of the huge demand! It took 15 minutes to get the food but that was fine. The environment is fantastic and the Southwest Panini was delicious! We will be back!

I loved the food and atmosphere that YUM has but I cant bring my kids because they dont have a changing station in the restroom. The last time I was there I asked a lady who had a baby where she changed her baby and she shamefully said, the floor. I really did enjoy my experience both times I went and I know my kids would love it too but just wish they had a changing table.

This review is for the Minnetonka location. I will not return there for lunch as the noise level is off the charts! Also it was so busy I was afraid we wouldnt have a place to sit by the time our food was ready. We did finally get a table but it really is no fun standing over people waiting for them to leave. The food was ok but not worth putting up with the noise.

The food is always delicious. The price is a bit on the higher side and the portions are a hair on the smaller side, but very tasty food, and option s you cant really get other places. The lunch hour tends to be pretty busy and noisy, and parking can be tight, but they are very fast with their orders. Make sure you pick up desert to go; the treats are really superb!

Excellent selection of food to feed even the pickiest eater. The bakery items are always fresh and satisfying; their regular menu features some fancy takes on traditional favorites, all at a very reasonable price. If you havent stopped by here, yet, your taste buds are missing out! The name "yum!" cant be a coincidence, because thats what I say every time Im here!

Great place , clean and good healthy options at affordable price. I dont understand why people complain about the place being loud , any restaurant with open kitchen and busy will get loud , also I dont understand the people complain about the quality of the food , for the price you pay food is really good. I would like to read reviews that apply comon sense .

Greg made my day today. His positive polite cheerful attitude is infectious. He unknowingly put my newspapers away perfectly in the entry way, I almost wanted to leave them there. We joked about this through my visit. He thanked me for my positive attitude but he should be the one to be thanked. Greg you make a difference.
