I enjoyed my food, but not enough to put up with the rest of the experience. The dining area was so noisy that our round table of 5 had to repeat almost everything we said, or rather shouted to each other. Our waitress was mostly nice, but mildly attentive to our requests, and I left feeling offended at the way she constantly tried to milk us for more money. We asked specifically about Happy Hour specials, but she just showed us the tap list as if all of them qualified and tried to up-sell us to larger sizes. I had to flag her down again a minute later after I realized our order definitely did not qualify for happy hour specials. She pushed the tavern club membership on us pretty hard as if it were free, and it wasnt until we asked a 3rd time like "whats the catch?" that she finally subtly mentioned the $20 joining fee. We politely declined, but she still tried to tease us later about how our beers could have been free if only we had joined... When it came time to place our dinner orders, she posed menu options like "chicken or avocado?" as if they were included options instead of saying "would you like to add this or that?" I understand these tactics make more money for the restaurant and perhaps a larger tip for the server at the end of the day, but these tactics are insulting and dishonest to patrons. On top of it, there was a forgotten drink order, no offers of water/refills, and ignored requests for extra sauces, etc. This is my 4th time trying this restaurant in 4 years. The first 2 times were nothing special. The 2 most recent times were both unpleasant due to atmosphere and service issues - I would not recommend and will not be returning.

I had to go sit in my van on Mothers Day with my two children under two because the restaurant was unable to accommodate two high chairs without putting both at one end of a booth (anyone with two young kids knows that would have been a disaster, not to mention there is not enough room for both children to eat there) my husband made reservations over two weeks ago and made it very clear that we would need two high chairs. We didnt know where else to go on such short notice so my husband went back in to get the contact info for the GM from the front end manager who was perfectly fine with us leaving the restaurant unsatisfied. My husband was able to speak directly to the GM who was extremely apologetic saying she would get us a table and our bill would be adjusted. We were seated at a table with two high chairs and my husband ordered eggs Benedict that never came and a hostess had a seizure at the foot of our table for 15-20 minutes (this is by no means the fault of anyone and I pray she makes a full recovery). While this was happening the GM came over and was making uncomfortable jokes about how at least our kids are entertained by the show. All of this as our entire family was on one side of the table (my husband standing) with no one offering to relocate us. In the end, we left paying full price for the mothers day brunch and we will never go back. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant... -Sarah K

Last visit was a firm reminder of went we stopped going here. Had a group of 45-50ish people for work in a private room space. Drinks took forever to receive, so some people started just getting two when we got to see a server. Appetizer buffet options were tasty and we had a fixed entree menu to choose from with decent options. My appetizer plate was snatched up from in front of me with food still on it before we even ordered entrees. Or servers seemed in a hurry to get everybody out asap the whole time and were slow to ask if anybody needed anything. Entree plates ranged from burning hot to cool from sitting for a while. Bottom of my sandwich was soggy, three people at the table had barely warm meals, and it took for attempts for a girl at our table to get her side. With maybe ten people still enjoying their drinks and conversation, the lights were dimmed just above being off entirely, chairs scooted noisily across the floor, and several hostile attempts to remove my plate that I was still eating from. Asked Id there was another event after us and the was not. Id never seen service this poor for a corporate event with a large price tag until that night.

After already a poor experience at Tavern on France, I decided to give it another try. Again they seriously disappointed. Again, it was staff shift and our original server was replaced by another server. I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with Cajun Chicken. The chicken was overcooked and rubbery, the noodles were about on par, maybe a little over cooked and squishy, not very tasty or pleasing, the sauce was ok. Stay away from their Dark & Stormy, they put way too much of their cruddy rail dark rum and used some pretty terrible ginger ale. The server was nice, and didnt argue when I asked to have my meal taken off the bill because it was disgusting—probably because they know their food is terrible. However he was he was very indecisive when another member of my party asked for a suggestion on her meal. He didnt know what questions to ask and wasnt very quick to offer his opinion or suggestion. Maybe I am just expecting way too much from this place. But it was Fathers Day, you think theyd step it up a bit. If you are thinking about having anything or than bar food and a lame selection of beer on tap, seriously reconsider!

Worst experience EVER! Totally not like the Tavern, but today was horable. Server must have went on break after getting our drinks, because he couldnt be found ::) or at least 15min. . . Had to call the manager over to take our order. (and she couldnt find our server either) Order a burger medium, Came out rare. (cold/pink middle) Although they didnt charge me for the burger, the service was on the same level of quality, as a McDonalds in North Mpls. After leaving the Tavern, a person from my group ended up getting sick from their food. (in guessing it was the mushrooms) I desided to call the Tavern and complain, but the manager that took my call was very rude, defensive, and lied. "The customer is always right." ???? Not the case here. Ive been going to the Tavern on France since the opened years ago. . . not any more. And I will highly suggest to everyone I know not to visit this establishment. High brow egos of the staff. Very rude!

I have met my extended family at this establishment several times now as it is centrally located from where we all live. The food is nothing to write home about. Adequate would best describe it. What positively horrible is the service. There really is none. Meals come out whenever the kitchen gets around to it and the servers are rude and ineffective. Last night I had the root-beer pulled pork sandwich with deep fried pickle chips. The pork was dry and anything but "stacked". It was mostly a pretzel with some pork and what appeared to be a dollop of root-beer BBQ sauce. The pickle chips were cold as were all the fries and onion rings that were served to others at the table. It appears the group that goes there for happy hour on the patio understands how best to use this establishment. Have drink and go home. Skip this place unless you love being treated like crap by servers and you adore very mediocre food.
