Our experience was very disappointing, it seems that every time we go there - our service is terrible. Its a shame because the food really is good. We live in Uptown so we have visited this restaurant more than a few times. This particular visit was the worst service we have had, it might be bad enough to make us never come back. Our server brought us waters, never asked if we wanted something other than water to drink. I wouldve ordered an orange juice had she asked, and I still couldve but I had never been to a restaurant that didnt ask. It took her a long time to come back to us to take our order, we had our 1 year old with us so we usually order his first because he gets antsy but she was taking her time. (Mind you she only had 3 tables in the whole restaurant) We ordered, my husband had the pot roast, I had eggs and hash browns and my son had french toast - the food is always good! Not once did she come back and check if the food was okay nor did she refill our waters. She dropped off our check - not even then did she ask how everything was. We paid and left. My husband and I have both been in service industry so we are very lenient because we know how it can be sometimes. This was just down right terrible service, which sucks because we like the food. Unfortunately, we may not return. I gave it 2 stars because the service was poor but the food is good. If you dont care about service, I recommend this place for the food.

I like this place! I suppose it depends on anothers attitude when going to eat here. If you go in a grump youll get grump. You go in with cheer and a smile, youll get a cheer and a smile! Anyways, this was my first REAL job when I was 15 years old and worked in Maplewood for a year or more. I told the manager I havent ever had a job and she asked if I ever cut grass or babysat and reassured me that that was "a job", then said i start Saturday. I was so excited i went home called my Dad and let Him know. I was SO proud i had a job. I remember like it was yesterday. I was once told "call me when you turn 18" by one of the managers daughters which was a server here! Ha. Lots of reminiscence to be had here but dont mistake the history for the fate because there is still a plentiful wholeness and new memories to be made, not just "a favorite past time". Just because of a bad first experience please dont let that keep you from giving it a second or even a third try, words of wisdom, come and support the small guy. Anyways, I always ate a mushroom and swiss Burger with extra mushrooms and isnt on the menu. But its bomb! The traditional apple is good as ever and the Eggs Benedict IS to die for because of the Hollandaise sauce. Nothing but Love and Respect. God Bless PS: Great place to bring a Hot Date.

The only reason this is 3 stars and not 1 or 2 is the food is .. like Tony the tiger would say ..GREAT. I have been to this Pannekoeken Huis three or four times. Love the Pannekoeken, I find the coffee so bad I do not drink it but drink water instead. Service is normally not all that great but not bad, today I would call it poor and again, not terrible. If it wasnt for the food I would not go to this place. Would if really kill the people here to smile once in awhile? I ordered my Pannekoeken, side of meat and water to drink. Waitress came back once and that was just after I took my first bite. Yes, all was okay but when my glass of water was just about empty I still had not seen her. Just so happened that another person was being seated so I asked the person seating the new customer if he could let my waitress know I needed more water. I admit, she was there very quickly with my water after I had asked. My issue is, why should I need to seek out a waitress. Summery, I really like the Pannekoeken, do not care for the coffee at all, not great service. Oh, I should say the other waitress seemed to be doing very well as far as service. Sorry, I forgot to mention this.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I eat out more than 10 times a week, and this was by far the worst dining experience I have ever experienced. HORRIBLE service, and extremely over priced garbage for food. I AM DISGUSTED. Grumpy old waitress who didnt bother to smile, make eye contact, or check on us even once throughout the entire service. I sat with an empty glass through the entire process and was never offered a refill. My food sat mostly untouched because it was greasy, cold, and all around awful. The waitress just grabbed my plate and came back with a bill. 10 minutes after dropping it off, I had to walk to the front of the restaurant and seek help. I have been a server for YEARS, and I NEVER stiff someone. Sadly, today was my first time leaving NO TIP. I never take the time to review anyone either, I just dont return. Thats how bad this was. Go to McDonalds folks, youll be far more satisfied for a third of the price.

Breakfast was amazing. In from out of town and read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I have never herd of a pannekoeken so I decided i must try it. I got the classic baked apple. It was very delicious with so much flavor. It was something truly amazing. Service was great. The waitress took her time really explaining the pannekoeken to us and even stopped by to show us one before dropping off at another table. The price is a little high for breakfast but the pannekoeken was well worth it. If you are looking for something new or want to give it a try its a must go.

Well never go here again. The service has always been bad, but this was the worst ever. We put in our name to be seated; then waited for almost an hour. We finally asked the host, who said hed called our name and crossed us off when we didnt answer. We were sitting right in front of the hosts station the entire time, so it isnt possible wed have missed it. No apology, no offer to make it right. We were so made we left and went to the Edina Perkins, were seated immediately. offered coffee right away and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Well go to Perkins in the future.

The fruit cup was very tasty and unique. I know, right? The dutch omelette was asty as well. Service was great ...... but. .....where is it in the servers manual that makes it accetable to call me honey? (No she isnt from the south) Where does that come from? "Can i help you?" .... And then stop. Thats it. Im not your honey. And saying it over and over several times while i order food is annoying. Is she cute? Yeah. But does thay give me tje right to say. "Hey baby, how bout you fetch me some food? Thanks you little Vixen." Probably get 86d. just sayin
