Quality drops over time? Last week it was my 3rd time to return to this place in the past 6 months. The first time, I was reasonably impressed with the food and service (and having spent a fair amount of my life working in restaurants from diners to cafes, thats saying something) the second time, less so, and last weeks meal was wholly unremarkable. All three times I got the biscuits and gravy, and man, if thats the best the TC has to offer, they need to give up now! The cook managed to screw up my friends order even though it was not only written down, but also relayed verbally, so my friend had to wait another 10 mins to get their food while I nibbled at mine. I have heard that Papas in New Hope is better, so I will check it out, even tho they are owned by the same people supposedly. Try harder, Crystal Cafe! I always like to support independently-owned non chain restaurants, but not if the food sucks!

Crystal Cafe offers a wide variety of classic American breakfast foods, along with lunch entrees. However, the breakfast is where they prove time and time again that they specialize. As a Minnesota native, it is no stretch to say that Crystal Cafe offers the best pancakes I have ever tasted, even after having done my fair share of traveling around the country. With their friendly customer service that makes you feel like youre in grandmas kitchen, Crystal Cafe has also managed to maintain a sincere small town feel despite operating in an urban area. Stop in for a cup of joe and some pancakes when you have free time, you will not be disappointed.

This place has been around since I was a kid. They have the BEST breakfast menu around that made me rather disappointed with IHOP, or anywhere else for that matter. The pancakes are made from a homemade batter that cant be beat. The rest of the menu is "eh" but I cant get enough of their french fries, just the right amount of crispy that I havent found anywhere else. The staff knows me and my family by name and they make you feel like youre at home. They even remember exactly what we like and how we like it. I recommend it to everyone I know and take my out of state friends here.

What a gem! My fiancé and I wanted to try somewhere new, so after a google search of restaraunts with best breakfast we were directed to Crystal Cafe. Dont let the run down strip mall that its in scare you away- this place is great! I had the San Diego eggs Benedict and the mister had an omelette. The food was very good- We were impressed with the portions, and even had leftovers! As we were leaving, the hostess told us we will need to be back to try the pancakes!

I work really close to there, and I must say everytime I go there it seems as though the food gets worst. Food not much better then my cooking, and trust not any thing special. Not cheap either a salad is ten bucks! Their Pear and walnut salad is a joke, a salad with 5 walnuts, grilled chicken, iceberg lettus, and canned pears! Canned Pears? for ten bucks! Only good thing is the wait staff is always nice. If it wasnt so close I would never eat there.

Great old fashioned food as well as great value for what you get! Hashbrowns were made-to-order fresh and crispy. French Toast was unbelievable rum french toast was wonderful even bacon was phenomenal. I give them a big thumbs up. The waitstaff was extremely helpful and attentive, you will not walk away hungry, great place.

They have great food! The waitresses could use a customer service boost or something. The waitresses are short and to the point and seem cold. I know waitressing isnt easy with previous waitress experience myself but a little smile and positive personality goes a long way.

I had a mushroom basil provolone omelet and i cant stop wanting another. It was the st. Patrick day breakfast special and i still crave it. Im from st. Cloud and dont get tocthe cities often enough. I have raved about your place to sooooo many friends. Love it

Best in the west. This has been here since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Pay for your friends, you will be blessed as hard times are really effecting some. Prices are great here and portions are large. Go hungry, you wont ask for 2nds.

I come here everytime Im visiting family in the area. My parents come here weekly and always get the biscuits and gravy, so I ordered the same on their recommendation. I would have attached a picture of our food but we ate it so fast!

Cash only, but no signs saying so and nobody told us until after we ate. Had to go to near ATM. A little embarrassing. Coffee was watered down and food was par. Door drafts made a jacket necessary. Staff was friendly.

Quick service and good food. My 2nd favorite place to eat breakfast. Can almost always find a place to sit. Is not a well known place, so is a nicely kept secret. Hometown diner feel.
