Im a borderline Salty Tart evangelist. I greatly enjoy and dont mind paying for the quality of the baked goods from this place. My go-to items are the croissants (both chocolate and ham and cheese) and the brioche. I always enjoy the seasonal items (fruit and savory tarts, creme fraiche cake, anything lemon) as well. Of course the coconut macaroons are outstanding but dont overlook some of the other cookies - sour cherry, peanut butter, chocolate chip, and (been awhile since Ive seen it) the salted caramel pretzel. Ive converted coworkers who initially said they didnt like pastries. Ive got very good reviews when I bring Salty Tart to customers, especially instead of the same old tired bagel assortment that other people bring. If youre not familiar with all of the different kinds of pastries, the counter staff (at least in the mornings when I usually go) is very helpful in describing what everything is and steering you toward things youll enjoy.

If you live in the city, there are only a handful of bakeries that ring the bell EVERY time. Ive just gotten off the phone with them after a big thank you order of nine pies! Cranberry-apple-ginger, key lime, pumpkin chiffon, chocolate-pecan-bourbon-caramel, traditional apple, blackberry-madeira, pear-ginger. You have to find it smack dab in the middle of the old Sear Tower building but the parking is hassle-free and the warm apple turn-overs first thing in the morning are one great way way to ease into the day. My goodness, these people know the secret ingredients to happiness and comfort. All praise to the Salty Tart!

My older kids and I love the Food channels, and when we saw "The salty Tart" featured on "unique sweets, we jumped in our car and drove 45 minutes to Mpls to try the sweets. The bread pudding was served COLD and not only dry as a bone with no sauce at all, it was actually burnt on the bottom. The chocolate cake my son ordered actually resulted in him vommiting up the cake 4 hours later....so so so dissapointing. Maybe the owner had the day off. I hope this is a fluke.

Salty Tart Bakery is one of the stars of the Midtown Global Market (a great place to visit for shopping, cooking and eating, BTW). Michelle Gayer and her team turn out wonderful pastries, breads, and desserts. I love the mini cheesecakes, and the chocolate stout cake is awesome. Michelles macaroons are practically a food group of their own; I cant visit without picking some up.

I was so excited to order the brioche rolls for a Fathers Day brunch and was completely disappointed. I understand the complexity of making the brioche dough but @ $3.25 a piece they are not living up to the hype. Perhaps a better description of the filling would have lessened my displeasure.

Some of the best baked goods Ive had period. The lemon meringue tart is to die for. When ordered, the bottom is crispy and warm and the soft merengue makes a great contrast. The macaroons are also phenomenal. A little pricy, but its worth it.

Small bakery that makes great croissants. Almost as good as Rustica, which is my favorite bakery in the MSP metro. Small space limits the amount/variety of products available at any given time this is also why theyre a 4 star bakery and not 5.

I live in Mobile, AL and I am a HUGH FAN of the Coconut Maroon. Thank you Andrew Zimmerman of the Cooking Channel for introducing me to the Salty Tart. The Coconut Maroon is the best thing thing I have ever eaten!!!

Small bakery that churns out amazing pastries and other baked goods. Croissants are light, buttery, and flaky. A little on the pricey side, but you need to treat yourself sometimes.

Ordered the Surly cake for my wifes 40th birthday party. There was not a drop of that 10" cake remaining. Hands down, one of the best cakes Ive ever enjoyed.

I wanted to love this. So cute and everything looks delicious but it was a bit of a disappointment in the flavor department. Maybe I got the wrong things?
