Inviting cozy atmosphere with decor leftovers from when there used to be a smoking section and a non smoking section. Food, not bad, not great, but portions are ok - good amount of hash browns for breakfast. The menu is fairly diversified, but I feel it is a bit over sold on some items. The salmon benedict describes itself as "honey smoked salmon" Neither my g/f or I could find any honey sweetness, but there was some smoked flavor in the med grade cuts. Ive also had the corned beef hash, it was ok but not knocking my socks off. The "Two Guys Breakfast" describes itself as "dry aged petite tender"; it seemed more like cube steak tough in a med rare doneness. Baked goods on the other hand are very good. Great cookies. The service was rather ok..friendly and polite, but in the details, could have some room for improvement. The last time I went there, (few days ago) the special on the board was, "Steak Benedict w/ hollandaise sauce", not an item on the menu. When ordering, I asked the waitress about the soups and the benedict. She didnt know about the special as she hadnt seen it yet other than "its steak". What she thought were soups du jour - wasnt. Upon checking on the soups, the soups choices differed from the first mentions available. The Cream of Asparagus soup was very salty to both mine and my g/f tastes. While the soups flavor was ok, the asparagus was tough at times and it seemed like canned cream soup with homemade cut veggies added. The steak benedict arrived and it had a chipotle hollandaise which wasnt defined on the board or by the waitress when asked. While it looked good, I sent it back and got the std benedict, which was a little short on the canadian bacon - a single thin slice per muffin half. Overall, I was "ok" satisfied, but, its not a full 4 or 5 star worthy the two times Ive been there..maybe 3.5.

Ditto - Bad food, bad service! I used to love going to Keys in Fridley. Lately, however, I have to wonder if all of the top notch cooks were sent to the Foshay tower location - cause they sure arent in Fridley anymore. On our last visit (and I do mean it will be the last time I will ever visit), I had the worst dining experience I can remember. I ordered an omelette that was to include bacon. Im really not sure what it was - it had the shape of bacon - but it was BLACK! Not crispy as if it had been freshly burned - just BLACK! It most certainly was not cooked fresh that morning - and we were among the first 10 or 12 customers of the day, so things ought to have been fresh. That bacon could have been on the back burner for days. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. I literally took it home for the dogs. My toast, on the other hand, was FRESHLY burned. Black bacon, black toast - yuck. Who would put that on a plate and serve it? Not only that - but when we first sat down, our table was dirty - BUMPY dirty, food particle dirty! First customers of the morning and a filthy table. She did wipe it down with a strong bleach solution - but only when we asked. Then offered to move us - but by then I was pretty sure the table was clean since I could smell the bleach. The waitress listened to my concerns and then assured me it was bacon. Upon paying, the clerk asked how our meal was and I told her - but she offered no consolation, just a blank stare as if she was sorry she had asked. I left disgusted, disappointed, and still hungry since I could not possibly enjoy any of that meal. NEVER again!

Based on my experiences of dining at the Keys Cafe downtown Minneapolis, I really wanted this location to be good because its closer to where I live. Unfortunately, it was a big fail:( We dined here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was busy but not crazy busy. Our server was nice and friendly but the service itself wasnt the greatest. Our food took forever to come and not one time did our server come by to check on our drinks to refill them. And even when our food finally arrived we had to ask her if we could get refills. Had we not asked, our glasses would have remained empty. Unacceptable. But the worst part about the experience was the food. The food at the downtown location has always been superb for me. The food at this location was barely edible. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Everything was cold. The gravy practically had a glaze over it from sitting so long. The turkey and bread was so dry I had to swirl it around the glazed-over, cold gravy just to get it down. It honestly was the driest turkey Ive ever eaten and Ive had lots of dry turkey over the years. My kids had breakfast and they said it was just o.k. My wife said the same about her meal and she agreed it wasnt nearly as good as other Keys Cafe locations. I would strongly advise the owner of these restaurants have a serious sit down with the manager of this location. The service needs to be faster and the food needs an overhaul!

I called in on Tuesday to order a cake. I talked to Jose who they said was the head baker. he said he would give me a quot on a cake if I sent him a picture. So I did this. He said he would get back to me as soon as he got the email. Never did I get a call so I called back he then said by the end of the day I was ok with that because it was about 5:00pm so I knew they may be busy. Once agian no call. I had to call agian only to find out he had left for the day and they have no one else who could help me. So the lady tells me she would leave him a message to call when he get in because he was scheduled for 9 the next day. The next day came past 10am no call so I call again another lady tried to tell me he was out for the day but then I let her know I was told he would be in she then changed it to I will let him know when he gets in, but if he dont I will make sure I have some kind of quot for you. Never got a call back. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!! They should have some kind of management skills

It breaks my heart to write this.... Im a life long resident of Spring Lake Park and I run a small business so Ive taken pride in being a customer of this restaurant since it opened nealry 25 years ago. However, my last 3-4 experiences have been miserable. The kitchen produces the same quality they always have but the staff has been more then lacking. My previous couple of trips in have seen me wait with my family for extended periods to be served, but I could chalk it up that the building was at least full, so I convinced myself it was just the mass of people. However, I just walked out after sitting in a half full restaurant after 25 minutes. The hostess was nice enough to take our drink order... But no comments on a shift change. No "Ill be right there to help you out". We had no less then 4 separate waitresses walk past without a word. Couldnt deal with it.... Had to get up. Sorry Keys, I will make the 5 minute drive to Carrolls in Blaine
