the food is good but tired of the attitude of the staff - the cashier is great, but the others that work there and cut the meat should take a class in customer service... I walk in and say hi - no answer - the guy turns to another worker and says - I am gonna take my break... so I wait another minute - both are still there and have not acknowledged me - and I say to the second worker - hi - Id like a brisket sandwich - she says - you have to tell him - they are two feet apart... So I tell him I want a brisket sandwich - he does it with out saying a work - passed it to the other worker who does the sides - who can now apparently speak with me - she asks if I want anything else - doesnt offer the side of clue slaw or bbq that comes with the sandwich... I ask for that and potato salad, and $15.00 I am on my way... Cant people just be nice and friendly - perhaps say thank you instead of here you go when the hand the meal to the customer? I am choosing to spend my hard earned cash here - not somewhere else..

Sliced brisket was moist and had good smokey flavor, no odd seasonings. The smokey flavor was not as strong as some, but this way you could also really enjoy the taste of the brisket. Not tough, but not super tender. The rub was slightly spicy...enough to warm your mouth nicely. I did not like the classic sauce. It was Kansas city style, but other sauces are available, so I will choose differently next time. The new potato salad was surprisingly awesome! It had large firm-but-soft chunk of potato, bits of green onions and hard boiled egg in a very mustard-centric dressing! Tangy and yum! The roll was a softish piece of baguette with a slight garlic butter note...again a surprise that the roll was so good as those are usually an afterthought. My plate: 1/3 lb. brisket with a generous side of potato salad and roll was $11, plus tip.

My first of probably many visits today (6/1/2016) was excellent. I had a brisket sandwich with pickles, cheese and vodka sauce with a side of mac and cheese and a drink. My sandwich was fantastic. The brisket was juicy and crunchy in all the right places. The vodka sauce (advertised as hot) could have used a bit more kick but I still really liked it. Use some Tabasco to amp it up and then dial it in with some slaw or mac and cheese. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable (I asked a bunch of questions). Theres a sink in the dining room to clean the BBQ off yourself. Im told this is fairly common in the south. Great idea! I have a ton more visits in my future and think the fifth star is a certainty if todays experience can be had again.

I have never had a better baked bean in my life! The brisket is flavorful and juicy (depending on how long its under the lamp; operationally I get that part) but always tender. The variety is exceptional. Only critique would be to back off on the salt with the rolls. Meat can handle that, bread not so much. Its clear you have put in a ton of work into establishing a distinct flavor for your shop and it is a flavor I love. Ive actually joked with my wife about quitting my career and seeing if you all would take me in and make me a pit master / restaurateur (willing to start on dish duty). Thank you for bringing some real BBQ to the south side! BRJ

We went for Fathers Day and waited after 20mins they only served 2 parties order. It was beyond slow. My husband was a big sport not showing his disappointment. We packed up the kids (2 and 4 years old ) and headed to another place we new would serve food. Its too bad. With such rave reviews of their other location, Im not sure they how long they will stay in business. The interior is super nice, the staff was very nice but there was a lack of food and a lack of urgency to serve the food. At this pace it wont matter how good it tastes if you never get to taste it. I dont see us going back until more people say the service has picked up its pace.

My husband and I were in the Minneapolis location area before a baseball game last week and thought wed stop in and give it a try. The smell was wonderful when we walked in. Being first timers -- the gentleman behind the counter was more than friendly and gave us good advice on what to try the first time. We went with a full rack of ribs and some potato salad and beans and rice. It was amazing! And Im not even a big rib eater -- but I found these ribs to be just perfect. The only thing it was missing was a nice cold beer to go with our food. But we can manage without from time to time. :) We definitely will be back!

Want great BBQ? I found my replacement for Famous Daves. Lil on the expensive side, but damn, its worth it. Great ribs. Excellent beans. Terrific potatoes from here in MN. Attentive staff, and friendly. Home like feel when eating in. To go boxes are right out in the dining room, so you dont have to ask for one. Great smells meet you as you get iut of your car in the parking lot. Awesome new BBQ joint in South Minneapolis. You will be thrilled with this food, I was.

I really want to give it 3.5 stars. The spare ribs are flavorful and nicely charred and probably my favorite out of all the meat options. I would rank it second to Baker Ribs. The beef brisket I had was a bit too dry. I have a feeling that they might need to improve the way they store their meat after its cooked. The meats would be warmer and juicier if stored properly after its out of the oven. The side dishes was mostly ok except the baked beans were very nice.

My wife and I came here last night for the first time, and I have to say I was very impressed. Ive had a lot of really good BBQ in my life, Ive been to some of the best joints in St. Louis and I honestly have to say that the back ribs and the brisket I had at Q fanatic are hands down the best Ive had in the state of MN, very comparable to places like Bogarts in St. Louis. Hats off to the crew at the South Minneapolis location, Ill definitely be going back!

Born and raised on Texas BBQ I felt this wasnt up to standard. The smell when you first walk in is amazing! I liked the ordering options so you can sample all the smoked meat. The brisket was dry and everything was over smoked. You want to taste the meat and all you tasted was the smoke. The location is great however didnt meet the mark. However I will admit that the spicy sausage is yummy! You should package it.

So yummy! So fast! A little pricey for a place to order at the counter but the staff is great and the food is mouth watering. I was able to order, pay and eat within 20 of arriving. Great for a weeknight dinner. Scrumptious like Famous Daves and a well balanced meal that just doesnt compete with a McDonalds price and taste. Kids meal was great and they offer milk (white and chocolate!! Always a plus.)
