Terrible / Horrible. Will never go to Jethros again. A week ago we met up with family there. Had to ask the server for menus. When our food came the server never came back to see if every thing was ok. Had to ask for our check. We really didnt think much about it, we did have a large table and we were visiting. The food was great. So my husband and I thought we would have dinner tonight at Jethros, what a big mistake. We arrived at Jethros at 3:05 pm, we sat at the bar. Ordered our drinks when the drinks came we ordered onion rings as our appetizer and my husband ordered a turkey sandwich and I thought I would try their steak. In the mean time other 3 other customers came in and sat down. They ordered their meals, by this time it was like 3:30, still no onion rings. the other 3 customers got their meals. My husband and I still hadnt received our onion rings or meal. I am pissed to say the least. The server said they were busy (which they were) but 45 minutes and we dont have anything. That is not right. Specially when 3 other customers came in 15 minutes after we did, and they received their meal. Needless to say we ask for our bill for the drinks, the server said it was taken care of and we left. We will NEVER grace the doors of any Jethros again. You can count on that. There was other customers coming in and I told them what kind of service we got. and that we never received our appetizer or food and waited 45 minutes. Hopefully you dont give that kind of service to very many customers or you just might be closing your doors. I dont want to even give it a 1 star rating. But it wont let me post until I do.

I had high expectations going here. Came with my wife & daughter. It had been highly recommended by my family. We drove from Newton just to experience it. Great disappointment. In general, the food was only fair, very overpriced and the service was unmotivated. Better not go in with a thirst, as you will seldom see your server again and the original drink was very small. The noise in the place was well overdone. Difficult to have even a modest conversation with the family. We were lucky when we arrived. We were seated immediately. Those that came right after us gave up waiting after an hour. We might have caught them on a bad night, but it doesnt matter. It will be the only time we frequent this place. My brothers will also get a different view from me of this place.

The atmosphere on the particular day I went to this restaurant was nice. That is, if you enjoy a packed house and a busy staff. I usually take this as a sign that the food is at least good and the staff is pleasant. The food, unfortunately, was mediocre. I ordered the boneless wings. Im not quite sure what it was that I received, but they werent boneless wings. They were more like a chimera of chicken fingers and a pile of coagulated calamari. They were a bit chewy, but, in the end, they tasted okay. On the upside, the staff was friendly enough, if not a bit distracted because of all of the people they had to serve. I wouldnt go out of my way to be a patron at this place, but I might try it again to see if any of their other dishes are worthy of the crowd that shows up here.

We spent the weekend at Adventureland, and searched the web for a non-chain restaurant to try. Jethros BBQ came up and the reviews were good, so we tried it. AWESOME! So awesome we returned the second night! So much food we had leftovers both nights. Dear husband is born and raised in the south and he was very happy with the food, and no okra in the gumbo, just like he likes it! The second night, August 20th, our server, Kaitlyn was excellent! Conversational and an overall great server, slinging refills on cokes before we asked. It was busy that night but we only had a ten minute wait at 6:30pm for a table, enough time for a cocktail at the bar. Great delicious restaurant! Bring one to Dubuque, IA!

On my way hone from South Dakota and stopped for an evening meal. Love BBQ and was looking forward to trying a new place. Wish I had not. Had the Jethro special sandwich. Burned pork cutlet, dry pulled pork, burned bacon. Mediocre at best. Very disappointing. Table was poorly cleaned. Stool was not cleaned at all as I found out when I got up to leave. Onion rings were good, Serving size was way too large for two if one were still to eat dinner. Wasted most, did not eat but half or less of sandwich. All in all was very under-impressed with Jethros.

.... The hostess stand is in the wrong spot , its ridiculous, doesnt make sense. I have worked in a restaurant....where does one wait for a table ???!!! The food is ok, but the pulled pork is in huge pieces, should be more " shredded". Not liking the bar-b-q sauce selection, it was " ok ". Our server, Miss Mary .....she was the best thing about our visit...she was great. Very accommodating. The Apple dumpling dessert was the second best thing, my grandson is here visiting and it is his BD, she made sure he got a birthday dessert! Thank you, Miss Mary.

We went on a Friday night the wait was not to long, but when we got sat down we waited about an hour and a half and still didnt get our food. The people that came after us got there food first so we decided to leave, on the way out our waitress told us it took so long because they were still cooking the prime rib we ordered. PRIME RIB. That stuff is made 12 hours before hand! I get that there was a party that was before but all that stuff was cleaned up. Over all the service was horrible and I dont think we will be going back anytime soon.

Have been to Jethros several times and this will be the last time as it wasnt the first time Ive left disappointed. Started with two granted one was a 25oz bud light and a 32oz Shiner but $15 bucks give me a break. Had the brisket, pulled pork and sausage combo and pulled pork and brisket were WAY dry and the sausage was burnt. Friend had a chicken salad which comes is a soggy taco salad shell and cold chicken. Sent that back. If youre hungry Id recommend burger King before going back to Jethros. Sorry I wont be back.

Love going to Jethros, especially for Boneless Wing Day! But this time when we went, we received terrible service from not only the server, but the MANAGER as well. It was very disappointing as I LOVE Jethros! Servers name was Alicia and Managers name was Malissa. Thanks for ruining our Jethros experience as we seemed to be just a bunch of "teenagers" that you felt the need to disrespect and not believe us! Great place to eat at, however the service tonight was so awful, we dont feel the need to come back again. :(

Tenderloin bigger than your face! Seriously, it is! A friend suggested having lunch here while visiting the area for work. He said to try the tenderloin, though Jethros is known for its BBQ. I did as suggested and couldnt have been happier. I also tried the fried pickles which were quite delicious, as were the sides with my meal. The wait staff were quite attentive & friendly as well. Definitely worth checking out if youre hankering for some "southern" style fare.
