I ordered a spicy fried chicken sandwich, 80% of my family is from the south so I am always excited to try new fried chicken here in Minnesota. This sandwhich is a boneless breast deep fried, however this one differed from any deep fried chicken sandwich Ive ever had; because was dark meat. And I eat alot of chicken let me tell you! Now I dont mind dark meat, however I do mind it when 80% of the the piece of chicken is fat and grisle. This is totally unexcpetable from any restaraunt, let alone one that charges as much as this one does for a chicken sandwhich with no fries (unless you want to pay more). Now if it were busy I may not have cared so much, but I ordered my sandwhich to go as I was working and there was no other food being cooked at the time, not a single order just prep for the night ahead. The majority pickled veggies did not fit with the taste of the sandwhich, adding even more of a fat texture than anything else. The pickled carrots were however tastey and the spicy batter for the chicken was on point. I do not write many reviews but I felt the piece of chicken was so fatty and gross I would have returned it if I dined in. It should have never been served in the first place, especially when the chef was doing nothing but prep work. This experience will make me extremely reluctant to go back to nighthawks.

Checked the website last Tuesday to make Sunday morning brunch plans. Website said you open at 9am. Made plans to meet at that time. Fast forward to Sunday check the website again for directions and now the time changed to 10am. WTF. Called to check on this and Emily who answered the phone was rudely talking to someone about how theres no way they would be opening at 9am, then the "hello", then the "MAYBE we will be open at 930???". Seriously. Best part, Emily called me back to let me know they wouldnt open at 930. I then let her know we found another location and explained that her rudeness had something to do with it as much as the time mess up, to which she was even more rude to me and hung up on me. Real nice staff you got there Nighthawks. I will be telling everyone I know to skip this place.

Quite a nice atmosphere. It feels modern, but with an 80s kick. It has LED lighting around the food bar area and booths surrounding that. I wouldnt say the burger is to diiiiiie for, but it is in the upper tier of quality of meat. The cheese adds something nice too. You could tell the quality of meat when yuio sink you teeth into it. The flavor tastes fresh - that mixed with the cheese makes it a buger that stick in my head and would make me go back. They also give you a healthy helping of fries which are pretty good in and of themselves. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a very very solid burger. They have different styles of burgers too, that would fit the appetite of someone who craves the "bizarre" type of sandwiches. Visited June 2016

I am a fan of Nighthawks - I live near by and have brought many friends for lunch and brunch. I woke up this morning thinking of their cranberry and ginger pancakes - got there - sat alone at the bar by the kitchen. I looked at the pancake short stack menu and my choice had gone off the menu. I ordered the blueberry lemon and chatted with the chefs. I mentioned that i was looking forward to the cranberry ginger cakes, and they said - no problem - we have cranberries and we have ginger. Hats off the the great customer service - the chefs and the staff - they went above and beyond for my brunch today... I will be back - next time I will stick to the menu...

Incredible. Scrumptious. Fresh and comforting. Everything is from scratch! The owners are always there and make sure you are well taken care of. The portions are huge the cobb salad is a paleo monster! Great for kids and families too kids menu even comes with carrots and dip. Friendly atmosphere and great beer selection. The options are well thought out and you can taste each ingredient. Breakfast is fantastic and the pulled pork used in various entrees is some of the best ive ever had and been to Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Atlanta, etc and had bbq at each Nighthawks bbq is some of the best.

So far Ive tried the corned beef sandwich (which was amazing) and one of the hot dogs (equally amazing). Both are very large, which seems to be a theme here. Nice big filling portions. We tried the fish fry tonight, which was okay. Gigantic portions, and the fish inside was good, but I found the breading to be a little thick and mushy inside. Their fries are awesome, in fact they seem like the same fries Lowbrow has. Banana cream pie is delicious, but I didnt really care for the gluten free white chocolate layered crust. Service and atmosphere are both excellent.

I had a great brunch here yesterday. Got to sample a number of different items from the menu and they were all quite good. The service was quick and responsive. I have mixed feeling about the chicken and waffles: the chicken itself is excellent, but the Eggo waffles it is served with dont offer much other than ironic value. This chicken deserves a better waffle. The full order of Chicken & Waffles is enough for 2 (or more). Another concern is the fried egg that came undercooked with soft, clear whites. A very good place overall.

The best Restaurant in the SW City hands down. If there is one place you go if you are in the Cities make it this one. An excellent local place to experience the neighborhood food explosion and one of the best we have to offer! The French dip is heavenly. A fantastic beer menu. If you show up Saturday, go for the country fried steak. It is done in a avocado gravy and Mexican style. You have never had one like this. Save a little room and top it off with an Elvis for dessert. Elvis is everywhere!

New favorite neighborhood spot. Huge and tasty meatloaf, solid burger, crisp fries that stood up to caramelized onions, blue cheese and balsamic glaze. The raw veggie salad is amazing; simple but excellent knife work, amazingly well spiced dressing with some lingering heat. The brunch is equally good. The pancakes are great holding up to toppings like chorizo and corn. Like the best and lightest cornbread ever. The entire staff has been professional and friendly. Go here.

This was my first time at Nighthawk...what a way to end 2016! Ordered the special - 3 potato beef brisket hash. Enough food for 2 ppl, though I will admit I willed myself to finish it myself. Excellent combination of sweet and savory by using the sweet and white potatoes, the guacamole and roja salsa was a great addition further complemented by the over medium egg and pickled red onions. Highly recommended!

We absolutely love Nighthawks. If you like comfort food and appreciate that extra effort of fresh ingredients than youll love it too. Whether its diner classics or their creative counterparts the menu is solid from top to bottom. Pro Tip: if its just one or two of you, sit up at the diner bar where you get the added bonus of watching and chatting with the chefs as your meal is prepared!
