This is my second trip to George & The Dragon... We went for Mothers Day Brunch (it was my very picky familys 1st time) and couldnt be more pleased with the fare. Our menu consisted of the cinnamon sugar donuts (these are basically enlarged Tom Thumb donuts-- Very tasty but nothing over the top), the Beef Rib Benedict, Egg Scramble Special (smoked salmon, cream cheese, and fresh dill mixed with egg), the Asian Hangover, and a pancake (dad HAD to try on the side)... Everything was tremendous... I previously ate the Asian Hangover and wanted to try something new so opted for the Beef Benedict- the meat was very tender, well flavored, and mixed perfectly with the egg yoke- I would have appreciated slightly more Bearnaise sauce but, didnt ruin the dish.... Mom and Sister had the smoked salmon egg scramble- these two NEVER become excited over food-- they wont stop talking about how incredible it was! Very light eggs paired with melted cream cheese, ample smoked salmon, and just enough dill... I loved the bite I was able to steal... Unfortunately, the potatoes are more like mini french fries-- VERY TASTY but, offer unnecessary grease to a dish that should be complimented with something equally as fresh and light... My dad opted for the Asian Hangover (per my prodding), he too was astounded at its flavor and quality... Really, this meal has succulent pork thats coated in Asian 5 spice- the jasmine rice perfectly accompanies the meat and garlic green beans, as its able to absorb and preserve that wonderful seasoning... 4 stars solely because the music playing was loud and rather obnoxious for a Sunday Brunch... Otherwise, the food is sensational! -- I will continue to sample the menu however, for a first timer-- indulge in the Asian Hangover-- It has really solidified itself as an absolute staple within the Minneapolis Dining scene...

Quite a drive to get here for me and you should get here early if you dislike 1-2 block walks. Great atmosphere and was busy during the time I went in around 6 pm, of course. I had called ahead for reservations and when I got there it was only about a 5 minute wait. I ordered the asian hangover and it came out within 10-15 minutes. I had forgotten that I am just not really into pork so it was not very appetizing to me. It comes with pulled pork in a sauce, fried green beans, jasmine rice topped with an egg. The pork was salty to me. I felt it was a little over drenched in I think soy sauce or some kind of sauce. Green beans were fine although a little oily and I think my dish had an overdue green bean in it as it tasted very funny. The jasmine rice and egg was my favorite..and personally, I feel anyone can make that at home. My server, Sara was helpful with food suggestions but it took me awhile to get her attention to get my check as it was kind of busy. Overall, I was really disappointed in what I ordered after reading all the great reviews via Yelp and Google. Let me mention one good ending though. I did not realize the owner, Fred had greeted/seated me as I came in and he even knew my name on the reservation list without me telling him. Very unexpected! Anyways, I did not know he was the owner until after my meal when I was leaving and read his name on his shirt (I read about him via a Yelp review) as he thanked me on my way out. He was very friendly and welcoming the whole time. I will be willing to give this restaurant another try when I have time to stop by because of this experience. Gave an extra star because of that also. Well, until next time, George & the Dragon! :)

I tend to write reviews when the experience is at either end of the spectrum, and this was one which far exceeded the positive side of it. I was just here on Sunday for a birthday brunch and everything was fantastic. The menu for brunch is just perfect. A variety of choices, both sweet and savory, at very reasonable prices. They also have a few burgers, sandwiches and salads available if you arent feeling like breakfast fare. All of it was superb. And who can beat $5 mimosas? As for the service, it was outstanding. Everyone there was perfectly lovely and incredibly patient, considering what I put them through reservation wise. I initially made reservations for 5 and ended with 9. I was so impressed at how pleasant and patient they were with me, in addition to being able to accommodate the request. The restaurant is not large, and space is at a premium, so this was beyond my expectation, and I would not have been upset had they not been able to seat all of us together. Thank you for making this such a great dining experience. I cannot wait to return!

I was out with a great friend and we wanted something "different". We searched around and the name of this place caught our eye. We read the description and reviews and were excited to go try it! We got there about 6:30 on a Friday night. The place was packed and they said it would be over an hour wait. We told them that we were going to shop at the super cool shop next door while we waited. They said they would come find us when our table was ready!!! I needed some food while we waited so I got a great banana malt at the malt shop on the other side of the pub before we shopped. We had not even made it around the whole store before the owner came to find us. It was maybe 45 minutes? The food was AWESOME!!!! One of the best and PERFECTLY prepared steaks I have ever had. I even splurged on small bottle of champagne which they kept in cooler in between fills. My glass was NEVER empty. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was just what we had been hoping for.

One of the finest places you can go. Become a repeat customer (its easy to do) and you will soon learn that there is a staggering level of consistency in how perfectly prepared all of the food is. Its remarkable. Everything is of such high quality and the prices are so low for what youre getting. Everyone on the staff is genuinely friendly and warm -- the servers are fantastic, the cooks are amazing, top to bottom this is a solid, perhaps the most solid, place to grab some delicious food and a good beer in the area. Its not the smallest place in town but I would definitely consider seating to be limited. Even in the middle of the week, the place will be packed so call ahead if you hope to get a table. If you are anywhere near Minneapolis and are looking for somewhere to go do yourself a favor and call in for a reservation right now. Do it. Dont even think about it, just do it right now! Im serious!

Over the top service from Mr Miller. He knows the food and the drinks thoroughly. His descriptions helped immensely in directing us to good choices for the evening. He was so busy but never flustered. (We went on a Friday night.) He has the gift of making his patrons feel valued. The food was delicious. I had the Elizabeth salad with bacon crumbles. Every bite delighted me. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and then we shared a key lime pie. I have never had a better one. So good! Try it and then see if you can guess what makes it the best. If you go, especially on a weekend night, call them to put your name on a list before you leave the house. When we arrived, the wait for a table was going to be 1.5 - 2 hours. We didnt have that much time so we were very happy when a spot opened up at the bar. What a great evening. We hope to get back your way again soon!
